I just don't understand what moves people to try and "negotiate" (if that's what you can even call it) like this? WHY?????

But I think I'd still feel the same dread and bewilderment-and anger- if one of our stationed military personnel were paraded around in front of a video camera, psychologically tortured by the knowledge that they will very likely be beheaded and that their family has been sent this last harrowing image of them.

Absolutely. Although the military at least have weapons, so there's some chance they might be able to fight off someone trying to take them hostage. Civilians have nothing. They are easy targets.

Know what scares me to death? If bin Laden is captured alive, imagine the kidnappings and the horror they will perpetrate to try to get him released. I wish I had even a glimmer of how to deal with "people" like this, but I don't.

No because they are less than human. There are animals with more consideration for human life than these beasts. We need to find them and we need to get them all. They can not be reasoned with and they need to be stopped, permanently before any more families lose loved ones.

This kind of stupidity needs to end. Beheading is not going to get what ever it is they want. I cannot understand this kind of metality.

I simply cannot imagine the pain of friends and family of these poor victims. And I cannot begin to imagine the pain and fear of the victims themselves. It is almost beyond comprehension.

I don't know what to call the people who are doing these things...I certainly cannot insult animals by making any comparison...after all, animals who harm humans cannot distinguish between right and wrong. If I were to say these men were animals, it almost lets them off too easy. Animals are not evil and these men are. They are evil human beings...and only human beings are really capable of this kind of evil.

Here's another cheery thought. A coworker and I were discussing this and he stated that it's bad enough that this is happening over there, but what if some of these extremists decide to come over to the USA and start kidnapping people here and beheading them, too.

It isn't that far fetched.

It's a very sad world that we are living in now.

I had the same scary thought after the last beheading. Geez, wasn't life so much simpler before 9-11-01? It's truly horrific that these thoughts should even cross our minds.
