We stayed at the Poly about a year ago and I thought that Kona was fine, certainly nothing to get jazzed up about. It reminded me of a standard sit-down restaurant at a hotel. I actually found the Tonga Toast to be too rich! But if you're going to get it, I'd get it there because it comes with the strawberry compote; you can get the toast at Cap't Cooks but without the compote. The cafe is essentially part of the lobby, albeit on the second floor.
As for 'Ohana, I see it disparaged, but we had the time of our lives there. It was by far the best meal experience we had in the three times we've gone. Our daughters (9 and 7 at the time) were treated like princesses. They are both pretty picky eaters (the 9 year old less so) and without us even asking, they brought out all sorts of stuff they thought our 7 year old would like and she had a blast. The food is what it is; I don't usually expect Disney dining to be some otherworldly event. But as an overall experience, we couldn't have loved it more. We spent close to two hours there and no one felt like it dragged and everyone had a great time.
