I'm starting to do some preliminary planning for our October trip. We would like to have at least one meal at Kona, just haven't decided which yet. Looking for the PS times for Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner. Thanks!

Thanks for the reply. It helped a lot. Gives me a general idea of how late we could do breakfast. Trying to decide between a late breakfast to cover breakfast & lunch; a late lunch to cover lunch & dinner; or to just do dinner. :confused3

Anyone else have any PS times for breakfast, lunch or dinner for Kona? Thanks!

What exactly are you looking for? The times that they serve each meal?

If so, it's approximately:
Breakfast: 8am-11:30am
Lunch: 12pm - 4:30?pm
Dinner: 5pm-10pm

The Island Palm Press lists:

breakfast-7:30-11:30
lunch- noon-2:45
dinner- 5:00-9:45

I can vouch for the 7:30 as we sometimes have breakfast then.

Hope that helps.

Thank you! That helps a lot with my planning.

We found we never needed PS for Kona when we were there, just walked right up and were seated straight away. That was at the beginning of August last summer.

We've gotten right in at Kona without PS's lots of times, too.

Breakfast seems to be the most crowded time, and that's the only time we've had much of a wait there. If you're planning to breakfast there before park opening time, a PS might be a good idea. (Wouldn't hurt, anyway!)

we always PS kona for 730am. then hop on the monorail for the parks. I have seen a line before early with people with the same idea.... :smooth:

Thank you all for the help. It's really appreciated. Good to know that a PS is not always needed. Maybe we'll make a PS for one meal and then if we have time, try just dropping in for another.

We had a 2:45 p.m. lunch PS at Kona in March. I think that was their last seating.

Rozzie, we always make a PS too. I think lunch is the slowest time but I've seen it full then too. I think this is especially true on the weekends. Dinner is much busier these days than it used to be in our experience. Even if we make a PS shortly before heading over, we try to do so.

Thanks for the correction! :)

Hi Forever42. I think of it as a clarification not a correction. Sorry if it came off otherwise. :sunny:

BTW, I haven't had the cheese plate at Chefs, but could it be camembert? Such a classic French cheese.

Eh, correction, clarification, whichever :) It didn't come off as anything, so don't worry a bit. I'd rather have people get the right info, don't mind being corrected!

And the cheese is definitely Port Salut, our server told us the first time I had it. I always forget the exact name and have to go hunting down a list of French cheeses. ;)

Well, I thought you made a very good stab at the times anyway. I was a bit concerned if they were planning an early dinner.

Is the Port Salut good? I guess I should ask on the other thread. :sunny: I don't believe I've ever had a true French version...just domestic knockoffs which I have liked. I don't like camembert anyway but it is such a classic it seemed likely.

Woohoo, threadjacking. I love the cheese, and my cheese-indifferent fiance will gladly join in on it. I don't have a lot of chances to have cheese when I'm not at a restaurant, since said-fiance doesn't like the prices of real cheese. ;)

I actually don't think I've ever had camembert, embarrassing

LilyLake, I do believe they close down between lunch and dinner.
