Know where my FAVORITE place in the world is, Mommy? I'm OUTTA HERE!!! Dude OUT!

Our break here in CT is April 21-25, so we'll be at Disney World the 21st until the 26th. Ran into one grad night I think, but not a big deal. Don't want to have to take the kids out of school, so it was either April 21-26 or the last week of June (ugh!).

Hey! We'll be there the same time! Neat! :thumbsup2

Have you had any problems with ADRs? I haven't except for Friday night at Cali Grill. :confused3

Hey camelotcats! (okay, I'm a DIS newbie who doesn't know how to quote other people...I suppose I should learn...)

We made ADR's pretty much as soon as it was possible to. We're actually traveling with a big group...grandma, papa, my sister and her hubby, me and my DH, and kids ages 10, 9, 9, 7, 5, 2 and three months. My poor father made all the ADR's early to make sure that when we wanted to eat as a big group we would get to. (After a while the CM taking his ADR's was laughing at him...reservations for him and my mom, my sister's family, my family, and the big group. He was on the phone for an hour!) We're all eating at Coral Reef (family tradition), Crystal Palace and Boma. Just my DH, DD10, DD9 and myself at Akershus and Chef Mickey's.

Okay...sorry...rambling...I'm not excited about the trip or anything...:yay:

When will you be at Akershus? I thik that's our only overlapping restaurant. We ate at the others you said on our last trip, and are trying not to repeat.

Hah! Quote button! Whoda thunk?

Akershus for dinner Friday 4/25. All of our restaurant choices are new for me except Coral Reef and Akershus, but I haven't been to Disney since 1994 so no need to worry about repeating places I've recently eaten.

Angela,

Seasons at the Land Pavilion has a few good items. The sandwiches there are good.....

Tangierine Cafe at the Morocco Pavilion is good, but service is slooooooow.

People hate, hate, hate ABC Commissary at MGM and yet, we eat there almost every trip. I get either the Tabouleh Wrap or the Asian noodles. Both good to me.

Columbia Harbour House at the MK is a new favorite mainly for the upstairs seating and private restrooms......

Hope that gives you a few more options....:thumbsup2

I don't think we ate in any CS restaurants in July when we were there. :confused3 just Riverside Mill at POR.

Thanks Jordan! I knew I could count on you! :thumbsup2

No problem, Scott. We only ate at Pizzafari, the CS at AKL (Mara??), And some place at MGM/DHS near TT. I wasn't really impressed in the parks (though the CS at the resort was good), but I have heard other people have very good things to say about CS at WDW, so I wanted to get some recommendations. :)

According to UG, the crowds should be somewhere in the middle (5-7 depending on day). When we were there early last May, they were about the same, so I am hoping UG is right....I guess my kids' spring break is REALLY late compared to most places. :confused3

5-7 is GREAT! It's almost always at least a 6! :thumbsup2

(Just back - 1st post to your PT since getting back!) I checked UG right before our trip, and it was all 6's except our 1st MK day, which was a 7. I don't know if they agree afterwards, but MK was the only day we felt really crowded - in the evening, you could barely move in the Main Street area, and everyone in the park seemed stressed and focused on staying on target - or totally spaced out and blocking traffic! :lmao:

I'm personally glad I didn't do any lunchtime ADR's - it was hard enough planning around one event per day, once you added in PF return times and show times. Heck, at Studios, we didn't even eat at CS - we had pretzels and ice cream, then got pizza back at CBR! (That was completely due to show times, btw, tho reinforced since none of the restaurants had good reviews). But then, my kids are night owls - we did fireworks 3 separate nights.

Btw, I think the only overlap on our ADR's was Marrakesh, which I loved. Well, the food was decent, not outstanding, but the interior was utterly gorgeous, and the bellydancer was really cool. Dd was standing on my lap to see her - tho ds played his ds the whole time he wasn't eating.

WElcome Back!

How was MK early? We are usually out of the parks by 4. The only exception to this will be the days we go to Epcot for dinner.

We were relatively glad we did lunchtime ADRs when we were there in May. My DS is kind of timid, and is frightened by shows like Indiana Jones and the like. WE had to keep him in Philharmagic on my lap. (Ironically this is the same child who rode Tower of Terror...twice)

We hit the parks pretty much at open, then we eat a late lunch (think 1-1:30ISH), hit a few final rides/shows/whatever, than go baack tot he hotel for pool time until dinner/club drop off. It works for us, though I have heard many people who do it like you did. :)

My kids are morning people, like their father. Which SUX. (can you tell I'm the only non-morning person in the family??) They crash by 9pm-ish. No fireworks for us. They can't even stay up for fireworks. :( WE tried last year, and they fell asleep DURING the fireworks, so we had to carry sleeping dead-weight children through the throngs and tot he bus stop (the oly time I ever wished we had brought the stroller). NOT FUN. We'll just have something "new" for the kiddos when they're older. :thumbsup2

Can't wait to read your TR!!

Actually, MK early wasn't too bad. Other than the fact that dh told ds on the bus that that day was "Gwendolyn's Day," which got ds completely and totally wound up. Then he decided that Dumbo was a baby ride, and had a fit. So, I took him to the Tomorrowland Speedway, and he cheered up a bit. Then we did Buzz, twice, and his mood noticeably improved. Dh and dd found us, and dh took both kids so I could get in line for Space Mountain by myself, which was under 30 minutes on standby. By lunchtime it was getting pretty crazy, tho. We did Pecos Bill's for lunch, and dh texted me that he needed help with the tray - and I couldn't find him! Insane!!! We did Pirates right after lunch, and waited a pretty long time for that, tho I forget how long. Then we went back to the resort for a quick swim so we could get to 1900 Park Fare - that was a crazy rush, and the only time we tried to do the mid-day resort break.

Btw, I'm not sure how disciplined I'm going to be on reporting - I may just tack stuff onto the end of my PTR as I think of it, rather than a day by day report.

It's funny tho - I clicked on your PTR link, and it took me to the beginning all over again. It was weird looking at my initial musings! Fwiw, we did end up doing our last full day as basically a resort day, tho we went back to MK after our dinner at Ohana.

I love this picture. This was the living room of our room during one of the cold rainy days. We didn't take a lot of pics, because we were afraid of sand getting in the camera (this happened last year and ruined a VERY EXPENSIVE camera).

I think it's soooo cute!!

AWWW! :cloud9: That is an awsome picture! Between your daughter lying on daddy and holding her baby. and your son sitting in the corner of the couch snuggled up sucking his thumb..very cute!

Did your kids have a good time?

I had to go to Home Depot today and pick up some art hangers for our new art. (Pics after it's hung up). While I was there ANYWAY, of course, I decided to get some LGMHPCs. One problem:

THEY WERE OUT!!!

NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO

This is FOUR TIMES Home Depot has been out of the LGMHs when I have been there. :headache:

*sigh* Maybe I need to figure something else out....
