Did you have a ADR for Planet Hollywood? We were thinking of eating there our first night (we get in later and aren't doing a park) but don't want to be tied down to a reservation there. Didn't know if it was a necessity. Thanks!!

We went there for lunch mid week and walked right in. However, there have been many times in the past when we have seen a giant line, especially on the weekends. If you really want to eat there, I would recommend an ADR.

We have never been to the Poly, so we wanted to explore the resort and eat at one of its restaurants, so we selected Kona Cafe.

Atmosphere: Love the feel of the restaurant, and its openness to see rest of the Poly

Service: Good service, but nothing special

I had the Polynesian plate lunch Teriyaki Fried steak: It was as expected. I did not eat the macaroni salad, just b/c I do not like that type of food

DH had the fish tacos: He said they were amazing!

Value: Great! Portion size is perfect for the price
Return: Oh yeah!
Recommend: Go for it!

We love Kringla. It is always a must stop for a snack. In addition their viking coffee is the best way to warm up on a cold day.

We only did some snacks, and they were yummy.

Lefse: This is the first time I had this food and it is amazing!! Basically it is a tortilla with a butter and cinnamon spread, then rolled up. We took our back to the room, throw it in the microwave for a few seconds and WOW!! Did I mention that you get 2 for $1.99? Excellent value. Also the pic is from after we microwaved it, so usually they are not that flimsy.

School Bread: this stuff is also amazing. A bread with cream in the middle topped with some coconut that is not too overpowering.

Value: Amazing value for snacks that can easily fill someone up. However, the viking coffee price is in line with other alcoholic beverages across the world, but the serving size is so much less.
Return: Always do!
Recommend: Yes! Their snacks are amazing. They also have sandwiches which are quite yummy.

Did you ever happen to see what kinds of sandwiches they serve at Kringla? I've always thought about doing lunch there, but we usually don't make it that far before we've snacked ourselves silly! LOL! One of these days I really want to do lunch there though.

I was in the mood for italian food, and we were in Hollywood studios, so we went to mama melrose's for lunch

Atmosphere: It is kinda vineyard like, but it also has celebrity pics on the walls. It is an ok environment.

Service: average, nothing special

on to the food!

Rolls: they were warm and soft. wonderful!!

DH had the mozzarella and tomatoes app: He loved it!

DH had the grilled pepperoni flatbread for his entree: notice the pepperoni on it! amazing! The flavor was excellent

I had the oven baked chicken alla parmigiana: it was very filling, extremely large portion. But like i have said many times already, nothing special

Value: The portion size for the price was perfect. Plenty of food.
Return: Probably not on the next trip, but will in the future
Recommend: Yeah, only if you are wanting common italian food. If wanting excellent Italian food, I would go to one of the other italian restaurants on property.

Really loving your reviews - I'm glad I'm not the only one who thinks the Chicken Crunch at PH is a bit weird. I just don't think the sweet coating goes with the chicken well at all.

Can you remember exactly what was in those fish tacos at Kona? Was it just fish and some salad stuff - or was there a sauce in there as well?

This was our first time staying in a value and we were amazed my the size of the food court and the variety of foods they offer. We ate here a couple of times so will go through each item.

tye dye cheesecake: I would call this the Pop's signature item, like how AKL has zebra domes and Beach Club has oreo bon bons. With that in mind, I had to try it. And I loved it!! It isn't too sweet for cheesecake, and the bottom is red velvet cake! Yummy!! A must try if you are staying at the Pop

Reuben Flatbread: DH loved it. seems kinda expensive ($8.49) but worth it.

Breadsticks: They hit the spot, and they weren't buttery at all!!

We also had a hamburger and a pizza (sorry no pics) but they both receive Both were just as we would expect with a burger and pizza.

Value: Really good! Prices are similar to rest of the world, and the quality of the food is amazing

Return: If we are staying there again, we would definitely return

Recommend: If you are staying at the pop, go for it!

We have eaten at Big River Grill before, love the beer!

Service: It was extremely busy, this was the longest wait we had for a sit down restaurant. Our server was fun and attentive eventhough she had a ton of tables

Atmosphere: Nothing special. Just a normal restaurant appeal. We sat outside, kinda chilly

We both had a burger, I had a normal burger, DH had the hickory bacon burger, and they each receive the same rating: They were huge, and the potato chips were yummy.

We also did their beer flight: Must love a good beer flight!

Value: Really, really, really good!! The burgers were only $12 and they were huge!
Recommend: Yes! Must like a small kinda bar like atmosphere, If you like beer, go for it! They have won some awards for their beer!!
Return: I'm sure we will.
