knee scooter on Disney buses

We will be at the Fort Wilderness cabins next Saturday. My friend and traveling buddy sprained his ankle badly last Tuesday. He is non weight bearing and using crutches to get around. The doctor just wrote him a script for a knee scooter. He is also considering renting an ECV while at Disney. My question is will he be able to roll onto the Disney buses with the knee scooter or will he have to take the step up to the bus?
I called Disney and they are going to put a shower chair and hand held shower device in the bathroom for him. I inquired about a cabin with a ramp, but non were available on such short notice. Thank you!

The buses have ramps for wheelchair and scooters, so I imagine your friend can use that to roll up onto the bus. He will have to wait in the designated area and be loaded first, and off loaded last.

Yes he would be entitled to use the HC ramp with his knee walker. just make sure he is waiting in the HC loading area. And after boarding, if possible it would be best to collapse the knee walker while on the bus.
I would recommend considering renting an ECV. using a knee walker all day like that will be tough and exhausting!

I'd consider renting an ECV from an offsite vendor, so you'd have it for use at the campground, but if you can't get a ramp to the cabin then I don't know what you'd do with the ECV at night. Will you have a car?

There is so much walking outside of the parks at WDW - even using a knee scooter is going to be rough. I'd consider getting a wheelchair. The distance to the bus stops from the ECV rental could be a very long hike at the end of the day.

Definitely have him rent an ECV. Using a knee scooter all day in the parks will be exhausting and painful. I would try and get one from an outside company so that he has it all day to use.
