Kirstie Alley in a BIKINI on Oprah!

I do think she looks great, but I agree that she's a far cry from weighing 145 lbs. 165 maybe.

Yup, cut out the carbs and you WILL notice a difference. :thumbsup2

Noooooooooo!!!!!! La la la la la *fingers in ears* I love my beer! Nooooooooooo!!!!!!! Don't....want.... to....give....up....beer!

Seriously, I am 5'4" and weigh 139 at age 48 and there is no way she weighs 145 lbs. My thighs are one of my trouble areas and mine look like toothpicks (with cellulite) compared to hers. I do think she looks awesome and admire her for the hard work. Good for her!!!

You could tell she was shy...but I thought she looked awesome!
Good for her!!!!

Maybe she was retaining water. ;) I did a google for her current weight but couldn't find anything.

I love an ice cold beer any day :teeth: ....but that being said...I have officially switched to WINE. I still have an occasional beer but consume more WINE knowing the carb count is much lower in Wine than Beer. :thumbsup2

The entertainment show stated her starting weight was 220 lbs. But I will say...it did not appear to me that it was her belly, rather her THIGHS that looked rather large. She looked fabulous in the bikini but when she opened that sarong...it was her LEGS/THIGHS that I thought were large. Hence, maybe that is why she opted for the HOSE.

I would never have had the guts to do that on National TV!!! I applaud her.........but I am not exactly buying the 145lbs.

I am not very good at guessing a persons weight but, she does not look as though she has lost a lot of weight since her last Oprah visit. (When she was wearing matching black outfits dancing with Oprah)

Is she still doing Jenny Craig?

*sheepishly* But its Miller Lite that is low in carbs and only 2 points on Weight Watchers. I do suppliment with my healthy Bloody Marys...low sodium V-8 and good vodka.

What is the seam running from her bikini bottom to her bikini top?? Did she really have the hose hiked up to there??

I absolutely hate the statements "She looks great but..."

Being a big big girl myself... if I lost a lot of weight, I wouldn't want people to say "Well you don't LOOK as small as you say you are". I have a huge frame. In high school I weighed 175 pounds. I wore a size 18. Girls my same weight wore size 14s.

I would believe she weighs that much, because that's probably about how I will look at 145 myself. It's all in your body shape... not just in how much you lose.

Well, most of us here repling to this Thread, think she DOES look great but the BUT we have inserted into these sentences are because we do not think that 145 lbs. is her weight...

No one is flaming her or anyone that is POOH-size....(heck I esp am not going there for sure)...IF she is going to give her weight and it really is NONE of anyone's business the number BUT she has chosen to reveal it and quite frankly so many of us that have struggled with our weight and numbers...really do NOT think she is at 145. Personal experiences are why we have arrived at that reasoning. JMHO

i lost 75 pounds myself last year (and have managed to keep it off :cool1: ). i will say, given what i know about my body type (similar to kirstie's) and how much i weight i seriously doubt she weighs 145.

people can flame me all they want. i'm not knocking on pooh size people. i still have about 40 pounds to lose myself. it's just that it annoys me when celebrities fudge their weight. it just contributes to body image issues.

I'm a really bad judge of weight so I just don't know about the 145. I will say I thought her legs still looked quite big, especially with the help of hose. I'm a mere 5'2 but at 140 I was wearing a size 6. Most people guessed I weighed 120-125. I think so much is dependent upon muscle mass, etc.

Did anyone else see Oprah's jeans show? Nearly all of the women she helped said they were 8's or 10's and I thought some looked waaaay bigger. Also, Oprah said she wears a 10 and she looks bigger to me. Who knows?

I don't think anyone's judging Pooh-sized people... but statements like the but statement are reasons why I tend to be scared of sharing how much weight I have lost at any given time. And I've lost a monumental amount of weight. I'm always scared of that but statement.

Just to give a little bit of background... I've always been a bit oversensitive about weight issues. Being a girl who WAS a size 18 and 175 pounds in high school I was labeled as "The Fat Girl" and told to my face that someone wouldn't go out with me because I was fat and ugly. I've had hypersensitivity to it ever sense. Then through a divorce and abusive situations as well as certain medication I skyrocketed to 380 and stayed there for about 3 years. It's only been recently I've been working to get it off, which makes the hyper sensitivity a bit worse.

I'm taking through my own personal experiences as well, which is why I do believe she's telling the truth. Though I had to sit and wonder... if I got down to that and stated it, would people talk about how I was "lying" as well... and it just got to me. I'm sorry.

She does look good for her age, but I really doubt she weighs 145 pounds, just as I doubted that she started at 220 pounds. I thought she was more then and I think she is more now. I would bet on 170-175 pounds.

For fun I went to the website where you build your own model, http://www.mvm.com/en/index.htm, and I added the dimensions she claims (5'7" and 145 #) and then what I think she is (5'7" and 175#) and the body image closest to what she really looks like is the later. I tried posting the comparison here, but it didn't work. Maybe someone else can or in the very least give it a try and see for yourself.

Please..don't be sorry...you have every right to state your opinion on this matter at hand.

And believe you me, I would never discuss numbers with anyone ever...heck, I never get on a scale EVER...but I have come a long way and I am proud of it BUT I will not tell anyone MY numbers...no way no how!!! And I completely understand your sensitivity to this subject more than you know!

Hold your head high, Ryan and be proud of your accomplishments. :goodvibes

ETA: Maybe Kristie HAD to disclose her numbers due to her contract with Jenny Craig and all those commericals she is doing for them. BUT you would never get me on National TV telling anyone that info.

That website is fun to play with! As a 5 foot 8 inch, one-hundred forty pound woman, I am just going to have to say the Kristie is just not comfortable enough with her numbers to be truthful with them. At least she is getting healthier, physically. Emotionally, the obese issue is damaging, and she may have a long way to go with that part of it. But she is certainly on her way, and that is what is really important. :)

And personal experiences are why some of us think she may weigh just what she says. The fact that we always look heavier than others that weigh the same as us. As I said before, I'm 5'6" and at 145 (I'm heavier now) I wear a size 14 or maybe a 12 and wouldn't look near as good in that bikini as she did. I couldn't even wear a bikini at 125 before kids.

I remember years ago watching the Rosie ODonnell show and she was very forthright about her weight and size. I remember at the time she was wearing size 14 pants and weighing 189 or something. I weighed around 150 at the time and was wearing 14's.

Honestly, I think the photo shown (which is from the show) made her look even bigger (her legs) than she did on the show.

She looked awesome!! Absolutely beautiful and womanly. I am much smaller than her but I took one look at Kirstie and said, now there is one heck of a sexy woman. Honestly, she so healthy and so much better than the Paris Hilton types.

I am not sure what that is in the photo (that someone said was a seam) I don't remember anything like that hanging done. I think we saw her full stomach. Her legs were still a bit large, she definitley has a pear shape, but she looked so good, I didn't even pay any attention to the numbers...who cares what the numbers are when you look that good and seem so self confident?
