Kirstie Alley in a BIKINI on Oprah!

Well, I weigh 148 (on a full stomach with my clothes on) and am 5'6" and there is no way I am that big.(I wear a 6/8 now) She is more my like my son's girlfriend and 175lbs! Kirstie looks great though, she's just not 145lbs!

Honestly, I think the photo shown (which is from the show) made her look even bigger (her legs) than she did on the show.

I have to agree!

This picture from the premire of Mission Impossible III... she looks skinner than she does in the picture provided...

And since that was a few months ago I have to wonder if her looking bigger isn't just the picture itself and the angle ect ect.

We also have to remember what amazing things photoshop can do... or do people not remember this photo:

she looks GREAT! so happy for her. now if Jenny Craig would give ME some free food, i'd look pretty good too! lol.

I am 5'9", there is NO way she weighs 145.

She is a beautiful woman and she looks great, but she is no 5'7"/145. I am not really sure why she would need to put a number to it anyways. She lost weight, she looks better, no doubt she feels better and is more healthy.

I remember Rosie saying that Kristie was lying about her weight when she first started on Jenny Craig that no way could Kristie be the 199lbs she said she started at.

Just by watching TV and Kristie commercials you can tell her lower half is still a big problem. Just a couple weeks before Halloween Kristie said she had lost 70lbs!!!

199lbs - 70lbs = 129 so there is something really really off!!

I absolutely hate the statements "She looks great but..."

Being a big big girl myself... if I lost a lot of weight, I wouldn't want people to say "Well you don't LOOK as small as you say you are". I have a huge frame. In high school I weighed 175 pounds. I wore a size 18. Girls my same weight wore size 14s.

I would believe she weighs that much, because that's probably about how I will look at 145 myself. It's all in your body shape... not just in how much you lose.

I only say it because I am 5'10" but much smaller built that Kirstie Alley, and I weigh 160 pounds. Big bones weigh more. Trust me, I only wish I looked like Kirstie Alley -- they don't really come prettier than her. She has that gorgeous hair and eyes and dang, she is 55! And her figure since she lost the weight is fantastic, she has great curves! But she doesn't weigh 145. No slam on her at all, its just a fact. And I doubth Kirstie is doing the lying -- she is probably told by Jenny Craig that she has to say she weighs a certain amount because the media has some warped sense of what a woman is supposed to weigh. I mean, how many people are 5'9" and 145 pounds? I think most people who weigh 145 pounds are 5'5" or so.......but since the supermodel who is 6 foot and weighs 120 pounds is who we are supposed to strive to be like (even though 99 percent of us will never attain that weight), we need to be lied to. :confused3

It's just body type. The only place I ever gain weight is in my stomach. I can gain or lose 10-15 pounds and my stomach goes up and down, but my thighs are always stick skinny.

(People who gain weight in their stomachs are more prone to heart disease, too. :sad2: )

I'm one of those "apples" who gain it in the belly. One fitness trainer said that's all food and cardio. I must admit that cutting back on sugar has helped my stomach go down a bit - still have a way to go. ;)

Yes, she looks good but NO WAY does she weigh 145 -- don't believe it at all. She looks more like 155.

I'm 5'8" too, and weigh 143 and my thighs are not big.

Still, she looks good but DON'T LIE ABOUT YOUR WEIGHT!!!!

WHY do women have to do this to other women? Ye gods. Why on EARTH can't you just admit she looks great? Why is it so freaking important to quibble over what *you* believe her weight to be? Gee, wonder why eating disorders are so prevalent in our society? Yeesh.

She looks better than she did, but still looks pretty heavy to me, especially from the waist down. And that's coming from a guy, by the way who thinks a gal really has to earn the "right" to put on a two piece, and no way does she have the "right" yet.

Ye Gods. I haven't seen one person not admit she looks great. I think the media leading us to believe celebrities weigh less than they do probably has a lto more to do with eating disorders than real life women saying you don't have to be a certain weight to look good. Its all in how you feel and how you look, not how much you weigh. Its not necessary to lie about it.

Wow. Now this is the kid of statement that I think really tears women down. Why in the heck should she have to earn the right to wear a two piece? To meet your ideal of what looks good? :confused3

I don't give a crap what she weighs but it bugs me that she lies and is working for a big weight loss company. It's disheartening to women who look like she does but see she claims to weight alot less.
She was certainly heavier then she said in the beginning and is heavier then she says now. She should just be honest because she looks good and worked hard to take alot of weight off. Probably took off more then she says and that's even better.

She looks great, BUT more importantly she looks like she feels great too. :thumbsup2

Wow. "The right"??? :confused3
Last time I checked, we women were allowed to wear whatever we liked and even allowed to vote!

Nice. I think she looks great. I agree, that there is no way she is 145 pounds, but I think she looks fine in that bikini. And I think it's great that she was confident enough to wear it!

ITA! :thumbsup2 Do not disclose ANY numbers if it is not true at all. Everyone posting has said she looks fabulous which she does...JUST please please be honest. We all struggle daily with our weight just like Kirstie, please when deciding to reveal your actual weight and pounds lost, please be honest!

Actually I think she did right by choosing a two piece.

In that pic her stomach, which is usually the hardest to trim, looks great!

Now she is a bit hippy though, but if she had choosen a one piece she would actually be covering up her best parts (the waist and chest) while still showing and even emphasizing more of her thighs.

In this case I think the two piece showed off her best assets. JMO.

Quite honestly, I don't think she looks great. She looks like she has lost weight, but she doesn't now nor has she ever looked great to me. I think it is her personality that I don't like and that carries over into the way I see her. I think many of us see her and hear the claim of 145 and know that we have struggled with our own weight issues, know that we may weigh 145 and not look like she does and wonder why. I think that is I had the same outfit on that she did and we stood side by side, we would look the same, and I am no where near 145. FWIT, I have never set my weight, body, or beauty standards by what I see on TV, in the movies, or in magazines. If more Hollywood "stars" were seen at the local grocery store, with out the hair and make up, with out the custom fit clothes, and with out benefit of the airbrush that is prevalent on magazine covers and layouts, then maybe people who do think that they have to look like a "star" might realize that they do.
