Kindle Fire deals?

A friend is looking for a Kindle Fire, not the new hd one. Are there any good deals? I know they were $129 on Monday, I wish I'd known she needed one sooner! Is Amazon supposed to run that deal again soon?

Also, are they still giving a free month of Amazon prime if you buy one through Amazon? If you give it as a gift, can they get the free month or is it only for the purchaser?

We bought 3 Kindle fire HD's for Christmas. Not sure on the regular ones but I know on ours there was a place to click if it was a gift, (had a ? mark next to and when you click on it will explain). That way they register them themselves being able to get a month free of prime if they qualified. Said you would qualify if you had never had a free month of prime in the past. 2 of ours is for gifts and 1 is for us. On ours it was already registered under my name when we opened it.

To get a discount I applied and was instantly approved for the Amazon visa credit card. They were offering a $50 gift card that could immediately be applied to your order.
