Kind of worried my husband lost his job yesterday.

I can't believe I fell for that. Guess I should have searched instead of looking at post history. I checked her past posts and it seemed plausible. :sad2:

You've also missed the part where she's an EMT, a pastry chef, an HR manager, has two Bachelor's degrees, is working on her Master's, and thinks Disney is going to hire her and pay for her to move down there---just based on her resume! :lmao:

Guess she doesn't really need to worry about her husband being out of work....

Wow, that was quite the Disney/Google rabbit hole to fall into. If nothing else, the OP is desperate for attention and should probably get help for that. Thank goodness this thread didn't take the "donate to my trip" turn her past ones did. Some people, yeesh! :crazy2:

No, but one well-meaning person was suggesting we could "get her husband a job", so... it came awfully close.

I remember that thread. I didn't put the two together though (I'd stink as a stalker).

I guess they'd better not cancel this trip - she clearly needs to get to WDW so that they can see how awesome her resume is and pay to move her down there (they can throw in a new job for her DH).

I have only read 2 pages, but it just seems CRAZY that you would even CONSIDER to go. Finding a job is tough as hell in this market, and if push comes to shove, you're going to wish you had that money back. You can go to Disney anytime, but your bills, credit, and lives are way more important.

I'm starting to think the OP is trying to make a fool out of us by seeing how long it takes us to realize their posting history.

On other posts the OP gets huffy when anyone questions their story, yet they don't just start fresh with a new username that the ex-DH hasn't stolen.

And since most posts that the OP starts end up with the OP deserting them after being outed as a scammer, why haven't the moderators shut down the account?

That was me.

To be honest, I didn't mean anyone should hire him, sight unseen of course!

But to anyone legit in the same boat: I think, that, in addition to cutting back, it does a lot of good to brainstorm about new potential avenues for someone who has lost a job.

During my SAHM years, I discovered a love and a talent for writing. I earned quite a lots of money doing that, something that in all my years of teaching math I had never before explored.

So for anyone who has either lost a job or has a spouse in that position, examine the educational background, hobbies, likes, intererests... see if there's something there with some earning potential.

See, I 100% disagree with you. I think you'd be CRAZY NOT TO GO.

Life is about experiences, it's not all about working. The vacation is paid for already. So, treat it as such and just go - don't treat it as an extra source of income.

Sure, if bills are due, or it was charged on a credit card, cancel.

Does unemployment cover your current bills? If so, sit tight and enjoy the well deserved vacation. You'll get refreshed and ready for the next job. Of course job hunt during this time, and if you get an offer, then AT THAT TIME OF THE OFFER, not now, you must decide whether to cancel the vacation or not, depending on what the employer says.

Your mileage may vary. My career field is such that the employers covet my skills and take about 3 months to find a person of my caliber, so letting me go on vacation for a week is good for them too.

By the way, a loophole in the unemployment insurance in my state says that you must look for work, but can reject job offers if the new salary is less than 25% of the old salary. So, if you're making, say, $100,000, but only applying for walmart jobs and rejecting their offers... that's okay - you'll keep getting your umemployment checks. I've never done this, but know friends who have. I'm always disgusted how the laws benefit the rich.

Someone should close this thread. People are still thinking this lady has a real issue (instead of being a troll) that they continue to post.

Can you see the little red triangle with the ! in the middle at the bottom, under your posts number? If you would like to request that this thread be closed, you can hit the button and do just that.

Wow! Thanks Google.

This is like Internet Münchausen syndrome...is that a real thing? Maybe it should be. :confused3

She might not be lying this time, but if you keep crying wolf it gets to the point where the villagers just ain't gonna come to help. :sad2:

When the OP began her endless threads a few weeks ago, I reported it via my app, and, obviously nothing was done.

On another forum, a poster was researching Cyberpersonas for a research paper and out of the top three user names given to her, the OP was one of them!

I lost my job 3 weeks before we were supposed to go in June. We called and cancelled our package and got a full refund because of losing the job. The cast member was very nice and helpful. She definitely didn't have to do that.

We are now planning a surprise trip in October for our boys. It's a shorter trip with less amenities but we are still happy to go regardless!

With that being said, I hope you can still make your trip. You need it with the stress of a job loss.
