Kim's new and improved life journal!

Hey guys! Just a quick check in...

Ds had his soccer game this morning...he's getting better at getting into the action and actually following where the ball is going! :lmao: DD's football game is tomorrow morning. I'm really looking forward to a quiet, no-children's sports winter! :thumbsup2

I went for a run after DS's soccer game. I ran for 35 minutes. My feet felt AWESOME! My breathing was definitely rough. I forgot what it's like breathing in the colder air and how it feels on my throat. I'm thinking I'll be using the inhaler before & after a run to help me out with my post-run breathing/coughing issues that re-started today. But I got out there, and I need to get out there more often. Enough excuses already!!

I went out shopping with a new friend this afternoon, just the 2 of us. It was nice to have a girl's afternoon out shopping without kids. :yay:

On Marie's journal...a few challenges have begun:

Linda proposed a 30 day chip challenge - no chips of any kind.
Marie proposed a sweet tea challenge (her kryptonite) (not sure of the length of time)
Marie also proposed a "walk a mile in my shoes" challenge. For every mile I run, she is going to walk/run a 1/2 mile to get herself moving! :moped:

So, I'm in on the chip challenge and I'm in on the walk a mile in my shoes challenge. Anyone else want in?? :confused3

Thanks for being a ray of sunshine :sunny: Kim!

:scared1: *roaring applause* :thumbsup2
That's SO awesome, Marie!! You can TOTALLY do it!!

It was an exhausting day, guys. DD had a football game to cheer for at 9am this morning. Then we went to the Disney Store to get DS his Halloween costume (he chose Cpt. Jack Sparrow from Pirates of the Caravan :rotfl: ). Then we went to the grocery store, came home put it all away. Then I went outside and gave DH a break from power-washing the fence. I did it for about 1.5 hours (what a BIG arm/shoulder workout!!). I added 60 minutes to my exercise challenge since I did take a couple breaks, but holy cow am I gonna be hurting tomorrow! :rotfl:

I'm not sure how this week is going to pan out, but I'm hoping to pull in some big numbers for the exercise challenge. Gotta keep myself moving. I also want to make sure to get in 3 runs this week. Saturday's was a hard run and I'm tired of them. I want to have a good run soon, and the way to do that is to keep up with it, right?

Have a GREAT week, everyone!

You got it!! We went to the Cherry Hill Mall. Is that anywhere near you? :confused3

I didn't do too much damage, since I was leary about having to travel so far if I needed to make a return! :rotfl: But just having a peaceful day out with a good friend was WONDERFUL! :thumbsup2

Good morning Kim,

That is great news about your mom! :Pinkbounc Praise the Lord! :Pinkbounc I am so happy for her and for you and your family. That is such great news! :yay:

Great job with your running and exercise! Keep up the good work! :cheer2:

Hope you have a great week! :sunny:

Helllooooooo my friend!! I just figured i would send you a little message--i know youlove these--gotta up my post count!
have a good night

Good job on the challenges!!! A really tough one for me would be to say have no diet pop/soda for 30 days........ I'll have to mull that one over. Good job on all that running!

Hey all. Just checking in. Having a blah day. Nothing's wrong....just blah.

I ate pretty well (really well actually, until I came home from work). Had a sandwich for dinner. Still got in my 64 ounces of water plus 16 ounces of green tea - so I'm ok with that.

But what I'm happy with is that after I dropped DD off at cheer practice I went on the eliptical tonight for 40 minutes!! :yay: I would have preferred to go outside for a run, but DH wasn't able to get out of work before dark. The eliptical said I went 3 miles. Does that count towards the "mile in my shoes" challenge, or is it just running or walking? Marie??? :confused3

I've been working on my packing list for WDW (23 days!!!) and I am absolutely, positively going to work out while I'm there. I'd love to run there. I would think it's such an awesome experience to run in that beautiful environment. And with splitting my stay between VWL and OKW, I can experience both!! OK guys, have a good night!!

:goodvibes :sunny: Sending you some sunshine to brighten up your blah day/night ;).

GREAT JOB on the elliptical. I'd say it counts :confused3 , but that's just me ;). The elliptical is an awesome workout...nothing wrong with that girl! Matter of fact, because I'm babying the knee injury I did the nordic track ski machine thing tonight instead of run. I HATE missing those runs too....but the next best thing is a good cardio workout on a machine! You did good Kim!!! :thumbsup2

As for running at WDW....there is an awesome trail you can run right outside of VWL. It starts out down by the boat dock on the beach....and it takes you all the way to Fort Wilderness. Once there you can pretty much run all around FW to get as long of a distance as you'd like. I'm pretty sure the trail itself is at least a mile long if I remember correctly.

Here is a link to the Disney running site. It gives you all the running trails on property! http://www.disneyrunning.com

ENJOY!!! OMG...can't believe your next trip is soooo close. Is that Jersey week Kim? This will be the first year we won't be in Disney during Jersey Week!!! Love that time of year ;)....F&W Fest...great weather! Ahhh...so excited for you!

Yes, it is Jersey Week. This is our first time to go during that week, so I'd love any info you have. How are the crowds usually? What kind of weather can I expect? Do I need to pack both warm weather & cooler weather clothes??

Thanks also for the Disney running website. I never knew it existed!! That just gets me even more excited!

Hi Kim :teeth:

Yeah for Jersey Week!!!

OK...crowds are a little heavy but nothing like holiday/summers. The main thing is to use your time wisely, use those FPs, and you'll be fine! We've never had any issues with crowds during this time period. I know it's not like the empty Sept/Oct time frame BUT it's much better than Spring Break LOL! Ask me about that some time. YIKES! Besides...you're a disney expert so you'll be just fine at the parks! Food & Wine Fest is so much fun at Epcot!!!!

The weather has ALWAYS been beautiful for us during that week. I'd pack maybe a pair of jeans, a sweatshirt and maybe a light jacket each. But my bet is that you won't need them. We've always been fortunate to have warm temps....always able to swim. Usually in the low 80s. PERFECT park touring weather :thumbsup2

I'm really excited for you guys! It's a great time to visit!

Hi Kim!

Sorry I've been AWOL for a few days...I'm back now :) Great news about your mom...that's awesome, I'm so happy for you and your family!

Great job with the run the other day and then the elliptical workout!! The elliptical is a true butt kicker! You're doing so well...I'm proud of you!

And I'm very envious of your trip! You guys are gonna have a blast....we better see a trip report!!!

Have a good day Kim!

You will. Although I am quite intimidated by some GREAT reports out there *cough*Scott*cough*.

The kids and I have been looking forward to Tuesdays. Next Tuesday they have a 1/2 day of school, the following Tuesday is Halloween, and the Tuesday after that - we're outta here!! (the Tuesday after that, we'll be crying because we'll be packing up to come home :guilty: )

HI Kim,

Way to go on the run and the elliptical!!! You're doing a great job!!

I am so excited for you that your trip is right around the corner....YEAH!!!!

Keep up teh good work!
Have a great day :)

You are doing a great job with your eating and exercise. I can't believe your trip is so close now. Here's to wonderful Tuesdays! :cheer2:

Yesterday......uh, nuthin. :rolleyes1

Tonight....uh, nuthin. :rolleyes1

Tomorrow - eliptical or treadmill at lunch. :thumbsup2

Ok...I know I've been reading your journals....but I must've miss a day or two. Yes, the eliptical counts on the WMIMS challenge!! Also, it's ok if we go by times as well. I don't really know how to figure it out, I just know that if you get out there and do it...then I have to.
Also, YEAH for WDW trip being so close....can I go??? :confused3 :teeth:
