Kim's new and improved life journal!

man.....kim REALLY takes the weekends off....doesn't she!!

YUP!! Busy, busy weekend!!

DS had first soccer practice for the season on Friday night. By the time we got home, had dinner, cleaned up...time for bed & I started watching some TV and crashed on the couch!!

Saturday we went up to my parent's house for a few hours for lunch & swimming. Came home, ran to the grocery store, Ms. Jen came over and DD's friend came over to sleep over. Need I say more? The rest of the day I certainly wasn't DIS-ing! ;)

Today, DD's friend left around 11, but then a new set of buddies came over to play (brother & sister friends the same ages as my DD & DS). By the time they leave, it'll be dinner, showers and bed!

I talked to DH and we are BOTH majorly back on track as of tomorrow morning. I'm going to get up & run for the first time in 2 weeks. We are going to eat a LOT healthier and stop being so lazy. I am going to incorporate some other exercises besides just running, because I can feel myself losing some of the toned-ness I had achieved this year.

SO, my WISH goals on my journal are going to be:

1. RUN at least 3 times a week, with a longer run on the weekends.
2. Drink 80 ounces of water a day.
3. At least 2 additional toning workouts per week.

I have that 10K scheduled mid-October, but a scheduling conflict might prevent me from actually running in it. My plan is to still train and reach that distance in my running by then no matter what.

Hope you all have a GREAT week!

Good Monday morning everyone!

I am going to check back in tonight...but thought I'd mention...

I am going to start journaling my food intake here for a while. Usually I used a hand-written journal from the nutritionist...but I think putting it out here might be better for me, for now.

Also, I did not wake up to run this morning. DS had a rough morning, starting at 4am...so it just didn't happen. BUT...I am definitely going to run on my friend's treadmill at lunch...so it's all good.

See you later tonight!!

Sounds like you had a great weekend and a great plan in place. :thumbsup2

Even though you didn't get your run in this morning, I admire how you have found another solution to get your exercise in for the day. Great job! :cool1:

Whew...the day is almost over & I'm SO tired!! I swear, some days I just don't stop moving from 6am til 9pm. ;)

Here's my food for the day:

B-fast: 2 eggs, 3/4 cup of cereal w/8 oz. skim milk
Lunch: 4 oz. chicken breast, 1 cup broccoli
snack: 100 calorie pack sun chips
Dinner: turkey burger w/fat free cheese & mustard on lite wheat english muffin
Snack: 1/2 cup lite ice cream

Water: 80 ounces
Exercise: ran 20 minutes

OK, guys. My plan is to do the BL workout DVD tomorrow, and then run closer to 40 minutes on Wednesday morning, since I'm not working.

Hope you all are doing well!

Sounds like a very successful day from your food, your water and exercise!! Your plan for the week sounds good. I find that having a plan helps me actually DO IT. Keep up the great work! :sunny:

Hi buddy!!!!
you did great yesterday..make sure you keep drinking that water today!
I know you have been running crazy lately, so i hope that since the kids are gone tonight you get SOME time to relax!

Hi Kim!!

This sounds like a GREAT idea!! It is right in line with the training that MtM suggests and is what I've been doing since March with tremendous success! I read recently that it's not the speed at which you run, but the amount of time that you are running for...so keep that in mind. You may want to schedule yourself for a 30 min run as opposed to 3 miles, or whatever. And those toning workouts are sure to keep you stretched and looking good.

As for the meals, I've found that I have to plan them out for the week. As long as I do that, I don't tend to fall off of the wagon and eat junk. Plus it alleviates the stress on the drive home of "wonder what I can cook for dinner" :)

Anyway, GREAT JOB!! I'm happy for you and your DH and wish you the best of luck on your new committment!! I'll be here to support you!!

Have a good one...

You have a great plan, Kim, & you're doing well!!

Take some you time this week.

Sorry, guys. Had an internet connection issue last night. Here's my food for yesterday.

B-fast: banana & wheat crackers with lite cream cheese
Lunch: Lean cuisine & salad with lite italian dressing
Snack: tastycake sugar free choc chip bar
Dinner: ham & cheese sandwich (it was late & I was starving, I know...bad) and an apple

Water: 90 ounces!!

Ran around like a lunatic last night, and therefore didn't get any workout in. I ran this morning, and I might do BL workout tonight too.

Have a good one.

OK, another crazy night. I don't know why I think I can accomplish anything for myself at night. Well, maybe between the hours of 1am & 2am?

Food for the day (again, started off good, went downhill at dinner)

B-fast - 1 egg & fat free cheese on whole grain lite english muffin
Lunch - tuna and tomatoes
Snack - salsa & lite cream cheese with handful of tostitos
Dinner - london broil & mashed potatoes with gravy :guilty: and corn

Water: 90 ounces :woohoo:

Woke up and ran 3.2 miles in 33 minutes this morning in a misty rain. It actually felt great!

Kim...great job on getting out there in the misty rain!!! And I'm with you on the crazy nights...just when you think you have a plan, everything seems to fall apart and become hectic :)

Nah, don't grow up...I like ya the way you are!

Thanks guys for the encouragement! I really struggle with eating healthy. I knew I'd get this way once I got off the weight, I just have to pay attention to the scale and not let myself go up more than a couple pounds before getting strict again (like this week) to get those pounds off. This is going to be the story of my life and I better get used to it.

I'm actually glad I bought most of my clothes to fit well when I lost the weight and got rid of most of my bigger clothes so that when my clothes feel snug, then I get my butt moving again with eating well and exercising regularly.

DS had his Kindergarten orientation yesterday. He did GREAT and was really excited. He was wondering where his friends are (his daycare classmates) and told me that he's sure they'll be with him next week when he starts school. :guilty: (broke my heart). I told him I'm sure he'll know some kids, but if all of his friends from preschool aren't there, it's ok because there will be a LOT of kids he can be friends with. UGH

Tomorrow is his last day ever at daycare. Tonight (after soccer and cheerleading) I have to finish up wrapping the gifts I made & bought for the school. I am going to have SUCH a rough morning. I brought in baked goods for the staff today, and the director told me she didn't want to see me tomorrow because it'll be too hard (her son and mine were best buddies since 11 months old). It's really gonna be an emotional one for me/us.

Not sure when the running is gonna happen. I'm thinking Saturday I'll do a longer run and maybe mix it up with a different route and Monday I can run again since I'm off for the holiday. No BL workouts yet, and I know for sure it's not gonna happen tonight. Maybe I can get up tomorrow morning and do that. hmmmm :scratchin

Have a good one, guys! Thanks again.

Good luck with the last day of daycare! I know it will be tough, but he'll make so many new friends in kindergarten and will have such a great experience!!

Good idea with the clothes too!! That's a real good deterrnet for eating bad stuff in the future!

have a great day and keep up the good work!

Thinking of you tomorrow!! Hope you get through it better than you think.

Good job with the clothes thing. Just don't do what I did! LOL When I got to goal (size 8) a few years ago, I bought a few pants. Then I went away on a trip and knew I had gained weight so I didn't put those pants on..... and 3yrs later I made myself open that drawer and yup, you guessed it.........I saw a dust bunny! A DUST BUNNY ON MY SKINNY PANTS!!! I guess I forgot the part about throwing away my "big clothes" so I'd be forced to lose weight...

Sounds like you're smarter than me! Have a nice weekend!
