(now that was a party!!)

1. You guys are hysterical!!
2. Next time I'd like to be invited to the party!
3. Dad's surgery was a success and so far no colostomy bag! :woohoo:
4. Trip was AWESOME! :thumbsup2

It was really great meeting Corinna, Amy, Scott, Stacie and Stacy! I'm sure I was looking my absolute best. But honestly, it was hard to contain my emotions as I was running through the park. A HUGE thanks to C, for running with me and my BIL and just for the time we were able to hang. :thumbsup2 I hope all of you that went on to run the 15k the next day had a great time! :goodvibes The 5k for me, was purely about the fun of it. Corinna, BIL and I all finished around 37 minutes. I made a mad sprint at the end to catch BIL (to prove that I could "hang" with him - and beat him out by ONE SECOND!! ) Hopefully the photographers didn't catch when my shirt was briefly riding up b/c of my waist belt thingy.

(btw - anyone know where the pics will be posted, when they do?)

This is how I was ranked. Not sure what all of that means. I know there were 1796 finishers (164 males & 1632 women)

Just to note in my journal - I did run on Thursday morning, before waking the kids up for school. Just a quick "Kim" 2 miler (21 minutes).

Universal was great. I think when we go back, we'll stay on property to take advantage of the front of the line pass. Our longest wait time was about 75 minutes for the new Simpsons ride, which was kind of just ok for me. :confused3 Hulk, Mummy and Spiderman were all AWESOME! :woohoo: We rode lots of rides and rollercoasters. We didn't make it to Aquatica because of the HUGE traffic line going in to their parking lot. We figured if we had already been sitting in traffic for 1/2 hour and weren't even close to getting into the park yet - what would the lines be like inside?? :headache: So we made a U-turn and went to Wet n' Wild. Best decision by a mile. Waited at the most 10 minutes there all day. :thumbsup2 I got a nice collection of glasses from Pat O'Briens and we completely humiliated DH by telling everyone it was his 40th birthday. Nah, he was a great sport. Last thing, we had an amazing dinner at Cali Grill the night of the 5k. Wonderful food, great atmosphere and Wishes out on their veranda was breathtaking. :sad1:

Back to work tomorrow, and back to running. :thumbsup2 I might wake up early & go out for a 3 miler, since it's supposed to be close to 80 by mid-day tomorrow. It's great to be back and thank you again for cheering me on!

Kim,
They had a good time while you were away, didn't they? Almost as much fun as we had zigging and zagging through the World Showcase. :thumbsup2 Glad to hear your Cali Grill dinner was so good and that you had a fun time on the run. I really appreciated you and your BIL running with me and keeping me sane - the next day, I was really glad we had just enjoyed our leisurely jog through Epcot, the Epcot shanty-town and graveyard. :)

Too bad aquatica didn't work out for you - I bet you were right though that the lines inside would have been brutal. Glad you enjoyed W&W. I've never been, but I bet that was a good day for it.

You are a bold one, out running again tomorrow! Hope it's a great one for you. Again, so nice to meet you over the weekend - I was really glad I ran the 5K, in addition to the 15K, and I owe that one to you.

Oh, Kim - GREAT news on your dad's surgery. Best wishes for a full and speedy recovery for him.

Welcome home kim!! i missed ya!
You missed a fun time on your journal --now doesnt marie need to come toj ersey :)

I hope i get to see you again in a future event!!

Hi Kim!

great job on the 5K girl...sounds like you and Corinna had a blast running together. It was so awesome to meet you IRL :). Kinda' stinky to come back home though :(. Of course...seeing the kiddos helps :).

Great pictures, Kim and great job on the 5K!!!:cheer2: It sounds like you had a wonderful time in Florida!:cloud9:

Hope you have a great day tomorrow!

Hey guys! :goodvibes

Well, still no run yet. I had intentions of going out this morning, but when it came time...I just couldn't wake up. :headache: I ran lots of errands after work, but at 7, I decided to do the Biggest Loser workout. Why not, right? :confused3  I did the strength and conditioning workout and it was a good one. :thumbsup2 Tomorrow morning - it's run time! No more excuses.

The plan is to do the BL workout 2 or 3 times a week and run 3 or 4 times a week. Time to get back to it, peeps! :thumbsup2

Great job on the race, love the pics, and can't believe you're already back into your BL WOs!

Oh, and I know it's probably no big thing for most people, but WOO HOO for being your DBIL! Every second counts, right?

Hi Kim,

It sounds like you had a blast. COngrats. I love the pics.

I'm impressed with you doing the BL tapes as well as running. I need to get mine out and get back at it. Thanks for the inspiration.

Take care,
Beth

Hey guys...Just a quick post to say what a bad run I just had. :headache: First, I didn't wake up early again today to run. Second, my heart just wasn't in it. No real reason, just not in the mood. But for crying out loud...it had been since Saturday - so it was time! The locker room was deserted (should've taken that as a hint). I started out fine, even with the 75 degree temps and crazy high humidity. I made it 12 minutes and decided to turn around and head back. Didn't want to over-do the lunch hour today. Almost immediately after turning around, my eyes started burning (allergy season) and my throat was all icky (again, allergies...no fresh air out there). I only made it 15 minutes total before stopping to walk. I think I psyched myself out with the whole "I'm breathing in allergins" mindset. I speedwalked back to the door. I just felt BAD! My legs were screaming from the fact that I introduced lunges and squats last night and my throat and eyes were just plain nasty. :scared:

So I don't know what's next. I am trying to avoid the TM b/c of my hip. I guess I'll have to do the early morning runs to try to avoid the humidity and then at least I'll finish up at home where I can effectively treat the allergy issues.

Nice quick post, huh? :rolleyes1

Oh, Kim. That sounds like a bummer of a run. I ran a "Kim" this morning as well, and it wasn't so good....but yours sounds worse. Humidity and allergies and lunge-legs are each one enough to put the damper on a great run, but all together - brutal.

So do you have another race on the horizon or are you maintenance running now? How long do your allergies usually last?

You know, I'm not generally an allergy suffer-er. Not really sure what's up this season. But my blue car is completely green....if that means anything. :headache: Hopefully we get some good rain storms to wash it all away.

No races planned right now. Just going back to the maintenance running..shooting for 3-4 times a week. Weekday runs in the 30-40 minute range and a weekend run around 50-60 minutes. I'll try to stick with that for a while plus the BL and see how I do. I just can't handle the heat for some reason. Some other runners were saying the same thing...that they have to retrain their bodies for the heat, and once the fall comes around they'll be "rockstar" runners.

Anyway...I'll figure it out. Tonight is gonna be lots of stretches to see if I can work some of the soreness out. :thumbsup2

Oh, pollen YUCK all over your car! Hopefully you'll get some rain soon and those lusty plants will settle down as well, and things will be back to normal, whatever that is. Seems like conditions are constantly changing and like the borg, we must adapt.

Your plan sounds like a good one. I think the heat is tough after the winter. Not that I have a lot of experiece, but it sure felt like we got slammed a bit in Florida. A couple weeks of it and...well, it will still be hot. I see people out running in the 90 degree heat and I just can't do it either.

Are you liking the BL workouts? Is Jillian making you cry and say "I'm worth it!"
