I'm having a serious brain lapse here. I know that they advise expectant mothers to not ride, but is there a age/height restriction on this ride?

I don't think so--at least we went when my youngest was a year old.

Not that I recall, but it can get rougn on that ride and little ones should be held onto tightly. There are no lap bars to hold little ones in place, so when the grandkids are with us if they are small we keep them on our laps...

Hey Donna! We'll be at AK on Saturday the 7th, do you work on Saturdays? If so, we'll be looking for ya! :wave2:

Aww, I'm sorry...I currently do not work weekends; weekdays only. Have a great time!! ::yes:: :wave2: :sunny:

I'm sure it'll be terrific, thank you! I do have a question though, now that I think about it. With the weather being a bit cooler, do you still think the best time for the Safari as far as seeing more animals goes is first thing in the AM? Or later when it has warmed up a bit? Or doesn't it make any difference?

It goes without saying to probably keep little ones in the middle of the row. I was also under the assumption that they fed early in the day so that's why the activity is at it's peak. That being said we've done KS at almost every time of day and have great luck in viewing the animals. Except that one time when it just downpoured!! Not much to see through the rain...:wave2:

We plan to be there that day, too! I need to find my green ribbon.

Great! Look for us! It'll be me -short, need to lose a few pounds...lol, dark brown hair, DH -avg height, thin, spiky blonde hair, DS's 10 and 9, and DD 1 1/2. We'll have our ribbons tied to the stroller! :wave2:

I will be there with only my 4yo son. The rest of the family is staying home. Jake will be the one you hear screaming when he doesn't get his way. I'll be the mother who is pretending that he isn't my child (and why can't people control their children! :teeth: ). I plan to get there before opening to see the awakening (never seen it before) before we head to Kilimanjaro Safari, Dinosaur, etc. We hope to stay all day and then have dinner at Boma, if I think Jake will last that long.

Jake has had to follow in the footsteps of his older siblings (10 and 13yo brothers and a 16yo sister) so this will be his trip. I guess you know about dealing with age gaps since you have your daughter.

I'll write green ribbon on my list of things to bring and try to find mine or buy more.

Our family was seated in the back seat of the truck on our last safari. It was extremely bumpy.......so bumpy we couldn't stop laughing!! Hold on to those kids!!:hyper:

 We are planning to hop over to MK for Spectro after the parade. We're staying at AKL, if it weren't for Spectro we could have had dinner at Boma with you! :teeth:

I'll have to keep that in mind...if the boys are fighting (and they usually are) I'll just make sure to suggest they sit on the outside edges! ;)

AKL is a neat place. I don't know that I would ever stay there again (I didn't like the dark rooms), but it is a one of a kind WDW place. I figured that Jake would enjoy looking at the animals there and I love the food at Boma.

I'll ask over on the restaurant section, but I wonder if priority seating is really needed in the slow season for Boma. I think they may still charge if a person doesn't show up for a PS and it's hard for me to know if Jake will fall apart before dinner and just need to go back to the room.

Not meaning to be stupid, but what is Spectro at the MK? I need a crash course on everything that has changed in the couple of years between visits. I do have the Unofficial Guide ordered from Amazon and hopefully it will be here before I leave.

Not stupid at all! It's the current version of the night-time electrical parade. I was undecided as to whether to see it or not, but everyone says it's so great and it fits with our plans, so...we're planning to hop over to MK and catch it. Spectro Magic

I'll read more about Spectro and then decide if I think it's something that Jake would like. Is it only on Saturday night?

T&B

It's on Tuesdays and Saturdays during our trips. Tuesday the 3rd is our arrival day so it isn't practical for us to go then, and Tuesday the 10th we have Cirque tickets. Saturday is the only day we are able to go! Feel free to PM me if you want!

Sorry for hi-jacking this thread...my apologies to the OP!
