Currently have a fastpass for Sunday between 9:00 and 10:00 and AK opens at 9:00. Will I have enough time to ride once and then use my fastpass for a second ride if we arrive for park opening?

Probably if you get there early enough. I would change the safari FP to later in the day if possible though. That way you still get 2 rides but a greater chance of 2 different experiences, also it's fairly long ride to do back to back.

Exactly what I was going to say.

Ride it at RD and then FP it for one of the last times available for the day.

yes, if you're there for RD (generally 8:45) and you "move it" back to Africa. Assuming of course they start on time (we've had to wait sitting in a truck for them to give the go ahead) and assuming no animal decides to sit in the road.

I ditto the PP - much better to ride once first thing then a bit later in the day.

We had an elephant refuse to move off the road last Saturday. Unfortunately it was a few trucks ahead of us so we didn't get to see it. Our guide was just keeping us informed. I think they eventually had to coax it off the road so everyone could continue.
