I have 3 little ones that can out eat a linebacker. Seriously. They are tiny to average sized and I'm not quite sure where they put it! popcorn::

However, they have little kids' taste buds. Is it possible to get larger servings of the kids meal items at places where nothing else sounds good on the menu?

Buying two meals could be an option, but we wouldn't need 2 drinks, and I am hoping to not have to double my budget for their meals.

Anyone have any experience with this? I do plan on bringing snacks, and think they might not eat that much in the park, but then stuff themselves in the room. That's ok with me.

You can order 2 meals, or you can simply ask the waitress to double the food, but you will be charged double the price if you do that. Some places will have appetizers that may help fill your little ones up. :)

A lot of 'adult' meals are really just larger portions of kids. Pizza slices, burgers, soup, chicken sandwiches, fries, ice cream, fruit, hotdogs, tacos, corn dogs, etc. can be found all over the parks in huge portions (that I am sure could fill even your hungry munchkins). Of course, adult meals are more pricey than kids, but I would imagine the prices for twice the kids would add up to this amount.

Maybe, to help your budget, you would want to just snack in the parks and have meals at an outside establishment or back at the hotel?

We noticed this too. for our 3 kids we would often get 1 adult meal and maybe an extra side and have the 3 kids share. If they were still hungry we would get something else, or have them eat a snack from what we brought into the park. It actually worked out really well for us.

When we took my nephew and niece (4 and 7, and small for their ages!) we simply bought adult meals for them, after experiencing the first kids meal. They ate the kids meal and asked if there were seconds, and proceeded to finish our meals! It was the first time I felt Disney LOST money at Goofy's Kitchen.

Thanks everyone for the suggestions.

I'm going to spend some quality time looking at the menus and really assessing what we need to get. I like the idea of sharing 2 adult meals between the 3 of them. That would probably cover it. However, my oldest is very picky, and will not eat beef, so hamburgers are out for him.

I'm planning at least one sit down meal a day including buffets, the BBQ, etc. They can get their fill there!

Dont be afraid to ask for what you want while you are there. Want a double serving of potatoes rather than green beans? What all chicken legs rather than a breast and thigh, ask. Extra rice, no refried beans- just ask! More than likely they will give you what you want. If it will fill them up and make it easier to split the meal just ask.

We often share meals. We'll buy 2 meals for me and the 2 kids to share...or at least we did when they were younger. Now, at 10 and 13, they eat more than I do!
