We've been DVC members for a number of years at BWV and have taken a number of trips with our children. They are now old enough, as a group (10, 7, 5) , that we are thinking of having them go to a kids program for the evening while we go out. We've had babysitters before, with good results, but want to try something different.

Wanted to know if any DVCers can tell me about the Sandcastle Club at the Beach Club? What does it cost and what are your experiences? Aslo what other kids programs are out there?

We use the Grandparent program!! lol, works well, just costs us trips for the GP! hmmmm, maybe Disney has a better deal! lol

we used the Sandcastle club in September 2005- and our kids LOVED it. My ds8 (now) 6 at the time is very shy- does not like the unknown- does not go to friends' houses to play- had a great time!!! My daughter is not a bit shy- does not know a stranger- they still talk about going there and want to go back! It was $10 an hour per child then but I think it has gone up. It was not a large place- one room with a desk and games, tvs and toys. When I returned to pick them up- they were watching a Disney movie in another room. Dinner is included. It is a great choice for some adult time! I would highly reccommend it and use it again. They do give you a "pager" just incase there is an emergency. We walked over to the Boardwalk and watched college football at the ESPN club. There were only four children there- my two and two others.

We have used the kid's clubs on the Disney Cruiseline many times and my kids LOVE them. My son just turned 4, so we weren't able to use the clubs at WDW until this upcoming trip in December, so we are planning on a night at the Sandcastle Club as well, so we can do Yachtsman Steakhouse for my
40th birthday without them having to sit through a long leisurely meal. DS loves the clubs on-board the ship, too, so I think that if they are run at WDW at all like those, then we'll be good to go.

We've used Kids Night Out and Fairy Godmothers before at WDW for in-room care, too, with friend's kids there also - that has worked out for us, too, but now that all are old enough, I'd prefer the clubs.

Our kids are 8 & 5 and we plan on using the Sandcastle Club in December, I think as DVC members we get 10% off, Dh and I may go to Epcot for dinner OR the Boardwalk maybe even Pleasure Island, not sure yet. Our kids are very excited

My ds (8) loves the Sandcastle Club too- Its one of his "must do's" every trip! :rotfl:

I'm happy to hear the good kid reviews of this program. Does anyone know of any other choices at the other resorts? Or is this the only one?

It's been a few years since we've needed to use them, but our kids have gone to the Sandcastle Club at BC, Cubs Den at WL and Neverland Club (?) at the Poly. They had a great time at all of them and it was nice for DH and I to have grown up time! Even better is now they're old enough to be left alone :cool1:
