The results are in...Democrat John Kerry is the winner, and the rest of the country should pay attention because the vote on Nickelodeon's Web site has correctly chosen the president of the United States in the past four elections.

Nearly 400,000 children and teens voted, and the results were released Wednesday. Kerry received 57 percent of the vote; President Bush got 43 percent.

Lets just see who the country picks on Nov2nd. This poll says this, that poll says that. My thought is lets get this election over with. Trust me on one thing no big miracules miracle will be taking place. Only we can change our lot in life. I don't give that much credit to one man! On a small note. My daughters school took a poll. Bush won that. The school also claims that have been right on who is elected in the last three elections. Now what? We will all meet back on Nov.3rd and compare our polls.

Uh - kids were using the internet to hold mock elections in 1988?

Yep, sure.....and Al Gore "invented it" then, too

Could it be that most teachers preach their Democratic beliefs to school children? ;)

Good point!

Thats funny, because on the Today show this morning they had a display and part of that display was polling of kids by Scholastic Magazine had Bush ahead at 54%

hmmmmmmmmmmmmm Nick vs. Scholastic...................

Think I'll stick with the Scholastic kids.

I think back then it was a telephone poll, you called one number for Bush and the other for Dukakas (sp?)

And grinningghost "Could it be that most teachers preach their Democratic beliefs to school children? "

I know you ment it tounge in cheek, but of my two brothers and I, both of them are Republican, and I'm a Democrat. We all went to the same schools and had the same teachers, so if the teachers ARE biased, it certainly didn't show up in my family! :)

And you know the old saying "out of the mouths of babes, comes wisdom!"

Exactly what i was thinking...did Nickelodeon even have a web site 16 years ago?

Ah, but you are talking about your political leanings now, as adults.....who knows what you would have both voted for as little kids...

Funny, on the Today show today they had kids on the show who had Presidential votes throughout schools and the winner was Bush! Yeah!!

I could swear every time a poll is posted where Bush is winning, Democrats come on and post how polls don't matter.

Reminds me of the 96 election when DS came home begging that I vote for Clinton. Seems his teacher told him that if clinton didn't get re-elected that Socks the cat would be homeless.

If I weren't so jaded, I'd probably think you were kidding.;)

My dd just participated in her schools scholastic reader election and in her classroom it was 16 - 7 with Kerry winning.

My DD didn't have a school poll that I'm aware of, but she's been singing the praises of John Kerry ever since school started. Again, a sign of a little leftist influence from the teachers - or at least that's my guess.;)

Well, my daughter thinks John Kerry should be elected -- but that's only because George W. Bush has already had his turn and needs to share ;)
