Are we just a handful of crazies or are there a lot of people who have their kids dressed in themed outfits like this? I don't remember seeing any on our last trip, but I wasn't nearly as obsessed as I am this time! Just wondering how "different" we'll be.

At most I have only ever noticed one per day and only when at the MK. I love to see theirs and yes, people will look and ooh and aah. Atleast they have always over the ones my son has worn. I for some reason had never thought of having one for each day and usually only had one per trip.

All of the outfits so far are wonderful, but I have a 10 daughter. Does anyone have any ideas for big girls? We are working on the skort with the ribbons that was shown early on. Anything else?

Love this thread..There are so many talented moms out there!! We leave for Disney in 3 days and I will post some pictures when we come home..I know my friend and I have all the bows and jewerly to match all the outfits as well. of course we either make it or buy it on Ebay! Theres lots of other crazy moms out there..They are only little once!

Looked through patterns today. It is sad how few there are for little boys, they should be ashamed! Anyway, I think I found one that will work. I just have to see if I can get it on sale. I like that it looks like it will be ok without a tshirt underneath what do you think?

The only problem is it has a seam down the middle so I might have to be creative (well even more so). My original thought was to put one piece in the middle of the chest (like mickey or something) would that be weird across a seam like that?
Ds's favorites are Mickey Mouse clubhouse, Higgleytown Heroes, and I like JoJo's circus. 8) So I will probably have to do a piecing.

I think it's adorable! DS wore shortalls all of the time when he was little. We went without the shirt for a more casual look, so you're definitely OK there.

My first thought on the seam is that you could buy a little extra fabric and place that pattern piece on a fold instead of cutting 2 pieces and having a seam. That might not be the best way to go, though. I just sort of make things up when I sew

Yeah, I think there is no seam on the side though so I have to sew down the middle. I saw some really cute ones on ebay that are exactly what I am looking for only I can't find a pattern like it.

I have the same issue. I think it is nice to get the ideas and then try and modify them to what will work for an older girl. My sewing is strictly limited to doing curtains and pillows, but I am going to try my hand at making DD a halter style top with some cool Disney embellishments. The pillowcase dresses are cute too-for an older girl to sleep in as pj's.

Piper Pizzaz...I have that pattern and I am in the process of making two jumpers for my son (will post here when done) and I have appliqued an iron on mickey head onto the front of one of them...it worked fine over the seam...also not doing a shirt underneath as we will be there in Sept HOT! Also you can alter the pattern so the seam is on the side...just cut the two front pieces as "one" and then cut up the side instead...maybe I will try that for the second one.

I found some mickey and friends halloween fabric on clearance for 99 cents a yard at hancock fabrics and I am making a MNSSHP jumper out of that and another one from mickey and friends surfing fabric (that is the one with the mickey head on the front). I am actually making 4 total...I have two boys ages 2.5 and 1, so one of each pattern for each of them.

I wanted to add that I have made overalls by taking faces of certain characters and adding them onto the bib of the overall. Then, all you do is add ruffles and VOILA.

My favorite of all time is taking the Snow White face off of this pillow:

Lisa as always your info is very helpful. I have a couple of questions about shirring...

1. How do you know how much fabric to use? Do you measure the childs back, and double it to account for the shirring?

2. Do you only use the elastic thread in the bobbin? Do you just use regular white thread for the machine?

About how much fabric to use, if it's a pattern that requires elastic in the back, I just cut it slightly larger. Then when I fit the outfit, I can just cut it down a little.
Yes, only use elastic thread in the bobbin. For the top color, the color in the needle, just use whatever color will match your fabric. So if you have red minnie dot, just use red. I only buy white elastic thread, because I sew a lot of white, and it goes with everything.

lutherlover, We are going Sept. 7-15. Do you think it is better to have on a shirt? Last year he was so small it didn't matter as much. I can't wait to see your jumpers!!!!

I think that a shirt underneath might be too hot, but I am going to try a plain white undershirt (like Hanes) that may be a little thinner rather than a thick tee or a "dressy" shirt. The I figure if it gets too hot I can just take it off. Also, there is snaps at the legs for changing, but my DS2.5 is starting to potty train, so I used velcro where the buttons are with "faux" buttons on top (it looks like it buttons, but really it is velcro) as he is not so good with buttons so he can use the potty easier. Don't know how old yours are, but just a suggestions for that age range.

I never thought of taking the image off the pillow. I always wondered how people made those and they looked quilted. Now I know, and you can bet I will be on the lookout for more pillows..LOL.

I just did that off a pillow panel, although I am not thrilled with it BUT I usually hand applique all our overalls. They were quick and simple though.

Here is the Diego pair I just made. They were pretty quick to do since I used a pillow panel. I like them but they are very different from what I usually do. We are going to Lion Country Safari sunday so he'll probably wear them there and then to Universal.

I just wanted to try them on quickly so have a dorky white shirt underneath!

Someone was looking for a ruffled capri pattern. Do a google search for "Britches & Bloomers" pattern, its really cute. There is also a cute pattern called "Comfy-Alls" for boys and girls.

Anyone know of any cute sailor-type patterns for a little girl? I want something for DD3 to wear on the first day of our cruise. I haven't looked through the "obvious" places (Simplicity, Butterick etc), but I just wanted to see if anyone had any cute ideas!
