Hi, Everyone!! This is what I made so far out of the material I bought yesterday. I feel in love with the froggie print and had to have it. Yes, I know...not Disney related...but I just had to show ya....:lmao:
Lisa

Adorable!!!

Just a quick note to say that you all have inspired me to use my crafty side.

My DD loves Cinderella. She has multiple Cinderella princess dresses, but the other day she threw me a curve ball as only a 4 year old can - she politely requested a Cinderella work dress. A what? A brown Cinderella work dress. Now where in the heck was I supposed to find a Cinderella work dress for my sweet little darling?

Long story short, I raided my mom's fabric supplies and told her to give me a crash refresher course in sewing and please set up her machine for me (I haven't touched a sewing machine since my 9 week long class in 7th grade).

I did manage to make DD a very cute brown skirt, a white apron to go on top and a white babushka for her hair. She already had a peasant top type of shirt that would work well with her Cinderella work outfit. Probably laughable by a lot of peoples standards, but ...it made her day:cloud9: . She said it was the best gift she's ever gotten and she was just so thankful to me.

Thanks for inspiring me to try making it myself - and making my little girl's world!

YAAAY! congrats! We saw a girl dressed as Cinderella in her work dress and a girl dressed in Belle's work dress and they got LOADS of attention from the princesses! very unique!

Hi! We want to see pictures of your daughter in her "work dress" I am sure we will all be jealous.

I'm still looking for free and easy instructions for bandana pants, and / or bandana outfits. i actually bought several today at Wally World just in case someone here came up with an easy pattern.

Thanks so much for the twirl skirt instructions. I'm gonna try that!

I spend tons of money at Wally World (Walmart) on material. I have eight days off starting Tuesday, and I am gonna sew something if it kills me!!!

and a white babushka for her hair.
I was totally cracking up when I read this:rotfl: ...I knew even before looking at your location that you from around Pittsburgh...hey, neighbor! (I thought we were the only family that used the word babushka!);)

Oh, I can sympathize! My oldest is in LOVE with Ariel and my mom had made her an Ariel costume and the wedding dress from a pattern and my DD was so happy. Well, she threw my mom a curve ball and said that next she wanted the "dinner dress" from Ariel. My mom had to break out the movie, watch the dinner scene and then craft a pink ball gown from that. It turned out adorable!! Then, I think since my mom mastered that one, my DD told her that she also needed the "kiss the girl" dress. Same thing, mom watched the movie, sketched it out, and made her a dress.

WOW!! She's got the whole Ariel wardrobe!!

Hi Everyone, We are a previous Jersey family, now living in Florida, who indeed use the word, Babushka. My Grandmother is Russian, and heaven forbid, you leave the house without your head covered. I love her  dearly, but as a child, I was mortified with that thing on. :rotfl:
By the way, I have the top to my animal kingdom outfit done, I need more material for the pants.
I will be posting photos soon....Lisa

She loves the Aerail outfit and I love the ALoha outfit. The froggie outfit is cute too, you are so talented! Can't belieive you made that in just a few hours!

How do you like living in Florida after living in NJ? I'm from NJ and now live in TN but we want to possibly relocate one more time to Florida :rolleyes1 .

Don't tease us!!! We want pictures!!!

Also my moms family is from Philly, Irish and Lithuanian descent. We all have done the BABUSHKA thing. HORROR of HORRORS, my grandmother made my girlfriend and I wear one outside the house when we were 16. Well we did it, and now at 38 it is one of my girlfriends and mine favorite memories. No way would we have humiliated ourselves for our parents, but for grandparents...we just did it. I thought the whole babushka thing was a Lithuanian or Philly thing. Unless somehow we're all related, I suppose it's a fashion statement lots of places. I guess there are lots of us closet babushka wearers. No pictures of them though please :) :) :)

i love this thread...you ladies are sooooo talented and always so helpful with patterns, ideas, etc. my dd is in love with cinderella. sadly her cinderella ball gown is on its last legs. we will be dining with cindy again this year @ gf. i was hoping to get her another, but a nicer, more realistic, homemade one. so, i went on ebay like any good dm would do and almost fainted! there was a gorgeous handmade ball gown for $99. dont get me wrong, i think it was well worth it....it was gorgeous! i just cannot pay that kind of $ or dh would flip out! so i was wondering if anyone knew where i could find a pattern (im also interested in the "work dress" pattern too)???? thanks in advance for your help!

I can't remember which one, but one of the major pattern companies has a Cinderella pattern. I know because my mom has used it before. It's either McCall's, Simplicity or Butterick. See if you can browse their online pattern catalogs and I'm sure that you'll find it. It's official Disney too.

Ok, I found it, Simplicity pattern 5832 has Snow White, Cinderella and Ariel. And, 5835 has Aurora, Tinker Bell and Belle.
