Great pirates outfits! I am impressed with everyone's talent! I am going to attempt a few bows tonight and will post once I'm done.

Here is my latest project to feed my addiction! LOL. This is for our Disney Cruise in October to match all of the Minnie outfits. My daughter says she will actually wear it, we'll see ;) . But she said she is never going to wear the princess ones, so I guess I will be listing those on ebay! At least it will be more money towards the cruise, or boutique clothing or what ever else I find I must have!!!:rotfl2:

WELL, I've been told that markdown manager doesn't always work the first time & they've had problems with it since they've started it. I had to reschedule it for 7:00 and hope it works at that time. I did tell everybody 5:00 so whoever wants stuff you can go get it now and I'll just change the invoices myself to reflect the 15% discount before I invoice you. I changed the end time to 12:00 on monday as well. That should be enough time for shopping!!! I don't want to see any fighting!!! :rotfl2:

Is there a way to tell if the discount is applied? It's just after 7pm and I really want to shop!!

You can tell once the markdown kicks in but as of 7:18 it hasn't kicked in yet. I called them, they're having a problem getting it to work for all sellers and they said it could be 6-8 hours. Everyone who wants to shop, go ahead and I'll just apply the discounts to your invoices. Make sure that if your Ebay ID is different than your DIS Id that you send me a quick note so I can discount your 15% before invoicing!

Thanks everyone for looking, buying, requesting special stuff, & the fast replies!

They have the skulls & roses at joanns but are sold out of the map print. At least here anyways. I used the skulls & roses last year for several pirate costumes I made. Some people thought it was a bit harsh for little ones but I liked it (dark sense of humor) and it would be perfect for an 8 yr old!
My DD7 loves Jack and I just found pink skull and crossbones fabric at Joann's. Not sure what I'll make yet, but will definitely use it!

I think I love Jack! I just saw that fabric last weekend. "Hmmm- what could I do with that" definitly crossed my mind! I keep buying fabric but not sewing. Need to quit shopping & start sewing. There's is definitly nothing wrong with a pink girly pirate. I have a bunch of the skulls & roses left so we might have a repeat or very similar pirate this year. If I think of something to do with the pink I'll let you know!

So we just got some photos done. THis is my Oldest's outfit for the day at the animal kingdom! She is getting to disney anyway she can!!!!

For those of you who sew, the silver fabric that I bought was actually made for an ironing board cover. It's the perfect color silver. I can't wait to use it.
Have you done anything with this fabric yet? I purchased some as well and was looking for ideas. You are so creative, so I thought I'd try you first.

I've been following the conversation about older kids wearing boutique clothes and honestly think that it depends on your child. My older kids love to wear boutique style outfits. And I ended up making them all matching outfits because it's easier for me to spot them in the park. Here are a few outfits I have almost finished and already finished to give you a few ideas for the older kids. The outfits don't contain nearly as many ruffles as I would use if it were for just my youngest daughter.

The first outfit has colored velcro and the leg ruffles can be exchanged for flowers or other decorations to match other shirts. The shirt shown just has an iron on ariel on it.

The second outfit has a giraffe print mickey on the shirt and the back pocket of the jeans.

These dresses have matching purses made from material scraps.

We went very casual last time except for the character meals, this time they asked if they could get a little more dressed up so we made outfits for each of the parks. (And if you are wondering about using white in the parks, I have treated the back of the pants with fabric protector.):goodvibes
Where did you get that bluish purple fabric? I am looking for something to make my DD7 for Easter Sunday at Disney and that would be perfect. Love the style of dress too. Did you make that?

Hi, I was actually going to use this as the Epcot Ball. As, I'm hanging my head in shame...I haven't made it yet...LOL, I was going to cut it into a circle and sew with black criss-crosses over it so it looks like the epcot ball, and applique in the epcot font, the word Epcot across the ball. My girls never have a special outfit to wear there and I was hoping to make this for them. Well, I still have 2 months left...before we leave...LOL

Love This outfit!!! Your daughter looks like shes all ready to go!! :thumbsup2 The bows and flip flops are too cute! Has your dd worn flip flops at wdw before? Are they comfortable? Great job on the outfit!!

glorib that is so funny, Ds had a monkey birthday last year. Here was his birthday cake.
birthdaycakes.jpg

He wore a gymboree outfit that had bananas all over the shirt with kakhi overalls. It was so cute. :goodvibes

I just saw I am the second cake on here. :rotfl2: Mine wasn't disney though. This year Ds's birthday will be AT WDW so it is a total Disney birthday.

Oh my word..... everything has just been too, too cute!!! Add me to the list of those that need to stop buying fabric and start sewing. Nice work everybody.

Okay, does anyone know where I can find a pattern for a full (I'm talking VERY full) petticoat? I saw a pattern on YouCanMakeThis, but it isn't what I'm looking for. If you go to eBay and do a search for pettiskirts, you'll see what I'm talking about. Don't ask me why I want to make one of these. I know my oldest won't wear one, and I don't think my youngest would either. I just love them though.

I have been dying to make one as well. The ones that I see online are a little too expensive for me, but I saw one that was made out of 30 yards of chiffon. Unless the seller gets the chiffon for like 10 cents a yard, I don't see where they would be making a profit. I think one day I will try one...

We saw this really cute Mickey themed Halloween fabric at JoAnn's the other day. Deep blue background with the characters dressed up and pumpkins all over. I did a search on their website and could not find it- sorry. Wish I'd had it last year!
Ok, we've been away at Disney for the past 2 days, so I'm a little behind in this thread, so don't know if it's been discussed. But, I did buy some either deep blue or dark purple (can't remember now) fabric at Hancocks about a month ago that had Mickey Halloween on it. I got it for only about $2/yard. I'm hoping to make some Halloween dresses for the girls out of it.

Thanks.
We have never been to disney world, but at disneyland they have worn flip flops before. It neer seemed to bother them. We live in AZ and they are very used ot wearing flip flops in the heat. it is the humidity I am worried about!

I saw 30 and 35 yards of chiffon in the descriptions, too. One website had a triple layer petti made out of 60 yards. One of the sewing forums I was on said that didn't mean that 30 (or 35 or 60) full yards of fabric was used to make that, but instead refered to how long the bottom layer was. That still seems like an awful lot to me though. One spot had a general description which sounded a lot like the tiered twirl skirt pattern that has been given out on this board. The differences were that there were more tiers and the tiers were not the same width. The got smaller (skinier) as they got toward the bottom. Like the tiered twirl skirt though, each tier was almost double in length to the one above it. It also looks like most of these have a drawstring waist rather than elastic. Anyway, that is about all I have been able to find out. So, I guess if you cut a yard of chiffon into strips, you could get quite a few yards out of a single yard. I hope that makes sense.
