Drama queen Lauren wanted her picture taken too.

Congratulations! I love the baby wrapper. I have never sewed for a baby, it must be so fun! Don't apologize for the drama queen: I think we all at least one. That must be why they are such cute models!

Love the hoodies that you made. I haven't tried a zipper except for a Halloween costume, so I'd hate to ruin this fabric. I may just use a little for an applique. That is all this boy has though, since I usually don't use patterns. We haven't put my DS in overalls since he was 1 1/2, so I don't see that happening either.

Looking forward to seeing everyone and their kids in customs in Dec. We didn't get tickets to MVMCP. Is it worth the extra $250 that it would cost us? I just don't see my kids being able to stay that long to get any real value out of it. Am I completely off base?:confused3

I have never done any of the parties for that reason. I also have a really early riser and it just seems that keeping her up late would just ruin the rest of the trip for all of us.

I know what you mean! UGGH! I also hate cutting out the patterns, and pinning the patterns! Has anyone tried fabric weights? I think that's what they are called anyway, you use them instead of pins. They just sit on the pattern. I saw some at Field's the other day, and wondered how they worked.

How do the weights work? You just set them on top of the fabric to hold it down or is there something magnetic to make them stay in place?

Okay here are the pics...

Now the newbies are really showing offf!!:) I love all of the outfits! They are fantastic! Thanks for coming out of lurkdom.......what else have you done? I can't believe you don't have some Halloween or Christmas done...Time to show it off!

My sister is pregnant. They have been trying for almost a year and a half and finally after one IUI cycle - they are pregnant!:cool1: :cool1: :cool1:

She is due in May and now I have a baby to sew for. They are not finding out the gender. Which means I must find all gender neutral things for now. Here is my first project. Both sister and BIL are Irish so the flannel fabric seems appropriate.

Congratulations on that! That's fantastic! Love the picture of Lauren! I've got two Drama Queens too!

We are planning on being in WDW in February.......what should I make for the girls as far as the weather goes? I was thinking lots of layers. Maybe dresses that could have long sleeve tees or turtlenecks and pants or leggings?

Okay, so I've mastered the thumbnail pictures but how do you get them to go left and right instead of up and down? It takes up a lot less room that way it seems.

I will be there those dates...but on Monday booked 4 day DCL for 11/25-11/29 - our first ever...hope we don't get seasick.

Nicholas is joining us on 12/1 to 12/9....so if you see a little blonde boy with a surfer boy hair cut and a short chubby cubby grandma and grandpa...and of course his mommy and daddy...wearing cutoms...it is US!!

Susan

Oooh I'm jealous! Our cruise was so fun! I get motion sick but I did pretty well on our cruise. I had some sort of otc pill I took, not dramamine, that helped. I'll see if I can find it and tell you what it was. I took it when I started feeling queasy and it never got too bad. If you get a chance, go see Navardo at Castaway Cay. He works at Stingray Ray's or whatever it's called. Go hang out on that beach (you don't have to be doing the feed the stingrays thing to hang out there) and he makes fantastic sandcastles with the kids, then lets them destroy them. Tell him Luke and the Hamling family said hi! He was the highlight of our whole cruise. The kids still talk about him.

CONGRATULATIONS! Love the blanket and the cute drama queen, I have two myself!

We did the MVMCP two years ago and this time we decided to forgo it! We needed to save money and I felt like this just wasn't worth it with two little ones! My kids are early to bed and early to rise, so I just felt it would be a waste! Maybe when they are older!

Mindy where are you all staying? We're at All Star Movies this go around.

We are going to be at Sports this time! It was the cheapest and that was the only way we could stay a whole week! We were at the Movies the last time we stayed!

I finally finished the girls' tops for MGM.

Too cute i love that you cheated, it makes me feel good that i do it too :goodvibes

So I'm getting ready to get started on Thanksgiving outfits for my girls. I washed and dryed all of the fabric and I'm in the middle of ironing it. Am I the only one who does this? I swear half the time of making an outfit is the prep!
i do:thumbsup2 i usually try to wash my fabric and iron it and cut out the pattern one day and then the next day i sew..

i absolutely love them all ! What a fun family . the girls are adoraable.

Ok, more picture from me!! These are from Halloween night with their costumes.

Nana made the Mulan dress for Emily (before broken arm). And, I spent ALL night Halloween eve making Madison's witch costume!! Nana hasn't even seen pictures of the all-night witch costume yet!!!

wow i love the witch costume how cute. and Mulan is very cute (note to self ) Do not let DD see the Mulan she will add that to her Sewing list.

Great work to all the lurkers that have posted their pictures. They all are adorable.

Ok- my mom bought this wonderful pirate fabric from a quilt shop somewhere. I would like to do something with it for my DS3 but can't think of something great. It is great quality fabric so I hate to waste it on pjs. Anyone have any ideas for this? I have a yard of it. Thanks for any inspiration.

i would say applique with it but also i like the hoodie idea.

How about a hoodie jacket? I've made several of them using Simplicity 5378 and found it to be pretty easy. Here's a picture...

HELP!!!!! I am trying to figure out the one step buttonhole on my machine. It seems so easy. Just press go and it works. But, it doesn't. It keeps getting confused or maybe it's getting jammed or caught on the fabric. I stupidly thought I had it under control and tried it on the dress I"m making. Buttonhole no. 1 messed up. So, (again stupidly) decided to try the second one. Messed up as well!!!!

Any suggestion? Now I'm wishing I had just done snaps or something. But, I really want it to work. It's courdoroy so I'm wondering if that is the problem. Oh, and I have a Singer Simple (from Walmart).

Nevermind. I figured it out. Well, I have no idea what the problem was but I turned the machine off and then on and started again. After picking seams forever I practiced a bit and it was working fine. Got both of them done!! Yipeeee!! I must admit they don't look all that beautiful but I think they will get the job done.

All of these outfits are FABULOUS!!!! I haven't attempted those types of skirts but they are just too, too cute!! Thanks for sharing -- I think some CASE'ing is going to be happening!

I also really love your group picture and how everyone matches. If this was a picture of my family -- it would be on my Christmas card!

We'll be there Dec. 11-17 at the Poly. My kids will be wearing customs everyday (and me too, for a couple). They have a couple of different Mickey head tees, one with Santa hat on, one safari, and a Bling one. Princess toile dresses for breakfast in the Castle, and a HMS outfit for MGM. My son will be wearing mostly just different Mickey head Tees, didn't get very creative with him.

We went the first week of Dec. last year and in was in the 80s but I don't know if we'll get that lucky again. Like you said, I'll just throw long sleeves under the tees, leggings under dresses and skirts and then probably bring both shorts and long pants for the other days.

Say Hi if you see us.
Amy
Hey!!! We'll be at the Poly too!!! I'll make sure to post my stuff when I get it done so you can look for us!! I had thought we might just hang out at the hotel on the 11th, find the pool and all that so maybe we'll see you checking in!!

We're going to be there almost the same dates, Dec 9-17. We went that time frame 2 years ago and it was cold! 40's-60's, at least we had the pool to ourselves! Last year my sil and bil went during that time it was 70's and 80's, so you never know! We plan on taking a lot of layers. I'm trying to make sure I can put a T and leggings under everything.

Okay, so I'm pretty much on target with my thoughts. I love when that happens...:) And is the pool warm enough if it's cold? My girls are fish and I'd love to be able to take them to the pool..I had heard it was heated....

Hey there! We'll be there the 8-17. The kids will be wearing mostly customs if I can get them all finished!

So far Ella has a pirate outfit, 2 minnie outfits, a princess toile outfit, an AK outfit and a Monsters Inc outfit. Oh, and a Christmas outfit. Working on a Chip and Dale outfit and need to think of a couple more.

Caleb will mostly be in button front camp shirts. Not too much to do for boys. He has a pirate outfit, a Cars shirt, a Mickey racecar shirt, a Buzz outfit and I am working on a Mickey shirt for him now. Need to think of some more for him, too! Any ideas/suggestions welcome!!!!!

Hopefully we'll get a chance to say HI!
Are you making dresses for Ella? I was thinking of making one, but how to you make it warm enough for them if it's cold? Same as a skirt maybe?

I hope we see you all!!!

Maggi

I love the Mickey Mouse Clubhouse one!!! My kids both love that show. BTW, using buttons isn't cheating, it's just being creative!!

2) Yes I did see that story and no, I am not a fish killer! Honestly! :snooty:
I'm not buying it...

I really love that fabric!! Did you get it at Joann's recently? We have a black schnauzer and she looks kind of like a scotty (with longer legs).

And yes Teresajoy I am making one for Jord LOL:banana:

This "mommy" thing sucks when you can't protect them from "oweees". It finally hit me last night why this upset me so. This was the first time since she has been home that she cried when she got hurt. I have seen this child run and fall face first on a marble floor and not even wimper. For so many years of her life she did not know when you fall down mommy kisses your boo boo.
Sorry for the too much information, it gets to me every once in awhile.

Cindee
I was going to ask if Jord had one! I got all teary when I read about Morgan not knowing about mommy kisses.

I'm another lurker coming out of hiding!

What bout cutting the pirate skulls out in a strip (looks like you could do this on the bias), and running a strip down the outside seams of a pair of jeans or long jean shorts and then also attaching a strip of the skulls to the chest of a tee shirt?

Or, depending on how big your little guy is (and your sewing skills), what about a camp/hawaiian shirt?

Now I am on this early this morning to ask for help before I chuck my sewing machine out the window. (Remember I am upstairs here.) :rotfl: :lmao: :rotfl2: I don't know what i am doing wrong but I can't seem to attach my ruffle trim to the bottom of my overalls. I tried and tried and I got feed up threw the seam ripper and went to bed. Any help will be so apericiated.:worship:

I'm sorry I not any help, but wanted to let you know I'm feeling for ya! I've been that frustrated before and it makes something fun, not so fun! I'm sure someone here will be able to help you out!

Cute fabric! There is a mom at our school that made some jeans with a matching shirt for her boy (5). She made a cuff out of her fabric around the jeans. Then she appliqued her shape on the front of a t-shirt. He wore it for Halloween and it was cute!

Is anyone going between Nov. 28 and Dec. 9. We'll miss everyone getting there on the 9th, we have a relatively early flight out. We'll be shopping at the airport to kill the time before because there's no point going anywhere when you've got to be at the airport around 9:45 am.

I have a list of customs to finish that's a mile long. I'm starting to get stressed out. I really want to get something done for MVMCP and another Christmas outfit. I just thought about wanting to do an outfit for Ohanas but now I'm not sure I'll be able to get it all together by then.

*deep breath*

Okay, I'll calm down. I've got to get the house ready we've got company coming and my apartment looks like it should be condemned.

I'm starting to get a little nervous too....especially since I'm so easily distracted.....:surfweb: :rotfl:

How about a hoodie jacket? I've made several of them using Simplicity 5378 and found it to be pretty easy. Here's a picture...

Well, I know we don't know each other, but if I saw you, I'd jump up and down and say hi!!! We don't get in until about 2 p.m. on the 9th, so we won't see you. So close and yet so far!

My sister is pregnant. They have been trying for almost a year and a half and finally after one IUI cycle - they are pregnant!:cool1: :cool1: :cool1:

That's cute!!! I wish I'd had a blanket like that for my dd9 when she was a baby. She loved to be snuggled up nice and tight. Congrats to your sister!! And drama queens...put me down for two!:rotfl2:

Well, I think the general consensus is that it's not worth the money...however, we go for these reasons.....

the girls love the cookie/hot cocoa stations. I know this is a minor thing, but they love it. Maddi talks about it all year long!

We like that we can get onto any ride with hardly any wait....Two years ago we rode the Barnstormer 12 times in a row. I had to call uncle finally!

We love the 'snow' down main street...(that may be there on a normal night, I'm not sure...)

and the photo ops!!! There are extra characters out, some in Christmas clothing. We rent the double stroller and go until about ten o'clock. Then we trudge back to our room and crash! We never plan anything big for the next morning though.

We've gone five years to the Christmas party and two years to the Halloween party. We never actually gone any other time of the year! Weird. But my girls are a bit bigger than yours I think (9 and 5) so it's a little easier for us.

Maggi

OK, knowI'm dumnb, but how are people multi-quoting and making the pics thumbnails? Is there a tutorial I am not finding? :confused3

Aww, but if I still lived there, then I would probably never have gone to Disney (my then bf would NEVER have taken me like dh did) and if I'd never gone to Disney then I would never have found this board...and if I'd never found this board...I still would have missed out!
I totally agree! I was thinking the other day as I was ironing some Tink fabric, that I need a special "project fairy"...someone to come in, wash the fabric, iron it, then clean my house while I was sewing, pick up all the threads that I leave behind, then put all my things away, while I bask in the glory of another project finished. That's not too much to ask is it.......really????:rotfl2:

All right, I suppose you're off the hook!
I want a project fairy!!!

Welcome April!!! So glad to have you hear! Those are some fantastic pictures you posted!!:welcome: :dogdance:dancer: :yay: :dogdance: :dogdance: :
