Kids Disney Boutique / Customs Clothes Part 5

Thank you all for the nice comments on Miss. Katie in her tutu:) She has about 10 tutu's now and wants to wear one everyday! When I get her dressed she puts her hands up (like she is confused) and says, "where’s my tutu". She has a scarlet and gray "OSU buckeye" tutu that her daddy just loves her in.

I loved all of the customs that have been posted lately. I love the queen of hearts outfit.... So adorable!!!

I am also a gymbo addict. I have been dressing all of my kids in Gymboree since we got them. When they were not adopted yet and still had visits at Children’s Services we were told all of the time that they were the best-dressed foster kids they have ever seen. They always look great when we walk out the door. Well... there was the time my DS (3 at the time) wore a lion costume from baby gap for 6 months and called himself a puppy.

I have also been asked by the school (pre school and public elementary school) to not dress them so nice :confused3. Although they had to wear the clothes they had and they were all nice. Now we home school and it is 3:30 and we are all still in PJ's :scared1: Except Katie who is wearing a leopard print skirt and a pink tee shirt with grizzly bears on it??? This is her 20th non-matching outfit of the day.

I think I bought the pillowcase everyone is using for the Cindy dress. Is it a pink pillowcase with all of the princesses on one side? I can not see the other side so I am hoping it has Cinderella on it.

I am trying to get some customs together for our march trip. DD 10 is cheering at nationals in Orlando and only the girls are going. We will be going with a friend so Leanne is going to stay with them while Katie and I go to the MK for a girl’s day. If you only had one day would you have them wear a Minnie custom or princess?

Thanks for listening to me ramble :)

The other day, Lydia insisted on wearing a Dora leotard and leopard print shoes all over town, with a pink sweater and a purple fur shawl over top. Personally, I thought she looked adorable! She doesn't even take dance class, but she sure would love to!

If I were going to Disney for just one day, I think I'd take both a Minnie custom and a princess dress and have her change! Minnie custom for meeting Minnie, and Princess when you met the Princesses.

Will your daughter be on TV for the cheer competiotion? I noticed that they had a cheerleading thing on my Mom's TV the other day from Disney. It was fun to watch!

I was going to leave this alone, but I need to post a defense of the "unbrushed" haired little girls.

I brush my DDs hair every morning and every night after her bath. Unfortunately she inherited my super fine hair, and she is a rough and tumble little thing.

Every morning, she gets on the bus with beautifully brushed hair, usually in a braid or pony tail, wearing a clean and impeccable outfit. Many of her clothes are hand-made "uniform" jumpers (It is public school uniforms, so I have leeway, as long as her jumpers are the right color).

Every afternoon, Huckleberry Finn-ette gets off of that bus. her hair is a rats nest, and NEVER still up, her clothes are a mess, her tights are stained and/or ripped, etc.

When she is with me, I see how quickly her hair gets in disarray. SHe will rubt he back of her head on the car-seat and get a huge rats nest that looks like I never brush her hair. I was even spoken to by the school social worker about her hair :scared1: . Fortunately DD was with me. I brushed DDs hair IN FRONT OF THE social worker, and she went out onto the playground with DH and her brother. Within 15 minutes, her hair was out of its ponytail and looked like I had done NOTHING to it. I got a big fat apology. :thumbsup2

Now, my DD is fastidious about what she wears, and prefers my home-made dresses. I know she's rough on clothes, and I deal with it. Some kids are. My DS would wear jeans or jean shorts ad a tee shrt very day of the year if we let him, ad he can't go two minutes without getting something on himself, either. SOme kids just seem to be walking dirt magnets. PLEASE don't judge how involved parents are based on their kids' appearance, either way.

OK, off of my soapbox.

Oh, I am sorry, I truly did not mean to offend anyone. I am talking about kids that, at least from a teacher's standpoint, obviosly NOT taken care of. Not just hair brushing. I was just using that as an example. I was also meaning when they get to school. Goodness knows, my DD6 is a walking dirt magnet. She may go to school looking great, but coming home is another matter!:lmao: And, of course, I don't know what kind of battles the parent is facing--example kid throwing a fit wanting to pick out their own outfit, and parent choosing to pick their battles. I mean kids that you can tell their parents don't give a care to what the kid is doing or wearing. If they are clean or not. I was just saying, jealousy is a part of life at school, a bad part, yes, but a part. Why should a child be punished if they look nice and wear nice clothes? That is all I meant. I truly did not mean for my opinion to offend anyone. And I do know what they say about opinions.................:goodvibes

Am I forgiven??????

Also, CastleCreations, as long as your daughter adheres to the dress code, the teacher can't make her wear something else. I cannot believe she would say something like that to you! That is truely offensive.

Congratulations!! What a sweet baby girl!

I can SO see my 20 month old doing that! She does the confused hand thing all the time if you ask her where something is.

I don't think you said anything offensive. I know the children/parents you were talking about. An example-my dd went to school with a very sweet little girl for 2 years. This childs hair was kept short so as the mother said "I don't have to mess with it", The child was dropped off EVERY morning in the school parking lot ( I was the one who saw the child thru the parking lot to the school safely). My daughter was given a hug every morning when I took her to school, this little girl was left in the parking lot. One day my daughter told me the girl asked her if she could hug me in the morning too. This child was sent to school in 40 degree cold with no coat!!!! I figured ok, maybe mom is having a hard time, so I spoke to the office and worked it out to buy the little girl a coat and have the office give it to her. I later found out mom did not want to buy the 5 year old a coat because she was saving money for HER vacation. :confused3

I was having issues with things not sticking to my ds's overalls. Ummmm, I think I was frying the Heat and Bond. I misplaced the directions and was ironing on high for 30 seconds (maybe more?). I just found the direction. OOOPS!!! They say iron on silk setting for 5 to 6 seconds. Guess I just smoked all the sticky off!!! Works a ton better now that I'm doing it the right way.

I feel like a moron!

that is the sadest thing I have ever heard of. My SIL keeps her 9 year olds hair short at just under her ears so she does not have to deal with it. The girl hasthe most beautiful blonde thick hair! ugghhh. You can't tell others how to parent and you can only help.
It is annoying to hear them saving instead of a $20 freakin coat. Like my Brother whom complains they have no money! BUT.... Wants his wife to stay home ( I understand that) - and then buys a camper  and then tells us xmas day they are pregnant with a 4th! That they can't afford. And the kicker is they argued whom was going to get "fixed" then got prego with the 3rd. ! Guess they were still arguing about it then got prego with the 4th!
Don't get offeneded by the "fixed" comment anyone. Me and hubby had no arguing ad he says he is proud to be "fixed" and is happy he did it. If anyone knows it is easier for a man to have that done then the woman without a c-section in place.
oh and they have the nerve to ask if we will help out with a stroller or pack-n-play. geeshhhhhh I about strangled them through email!!!!

ok I have been busy sewing doll clothes (I am not sure I will be able to make DD sized clothes anymore LOL).

My DD LOVES Cheetah spots and I found a nice cheetah spot corduroy, what should I make with it? I have to make the twins matching:dance3: . I first though jumpers for the girls and pants for the boy. But that seems "boring" any exciting ideas?

WOW!!

I'm usually just lurking here, but I do try to keep up with all the posts. Well after being gone for a week, I'm finally caught up. Y'all have posted some great outfits!! I love all the Cinderella variations.

Here's why I've been away... and the reason I have been stocking up on Disney fabric since finding this board... my little princess is a week old today!

I wasn’t offended, but I agreed with camelotcats. I just hope someone doesn’t think I don’t brush my DD’s hair. It might not look like I do, but for about ½ hour, it looks good!

Don't feel bad, "someone" I know took the backing off the Heat and Bond and ironed it to the IRON :rolleyes1

I hadn't sewn anything in a month and it was killing me. I had a few outfits in mind, but needed fabric and I haven't been able to go to the store. So, I just decided to make something with the fabric I already had. So, here's a Belle-ish outfit I just whipped up in a matter of minutes (okay, over the course of 1.5 days). I used the YCMT portrait peasant dress pattern and modified it for a shirt. Then, I made my own pattern for the jumper and apron.

The book was her idea and I think it was a good one!:

She thought I should add this one, too. This is her favorite "model pose":

Okay, now I need to catch up on the last day and a half.

Have you been spying on me?!:rotfl2:

I'd better keep posting if I want to stay in the top 20! Probably won't be around much today though. I was looking forward to having kids back in school but this morning I have 3 out of 4 kids throwing up.
Oh NO! I hope they start feeling better!

Thanks for sharing all of your wonderful vacation pictures!! I love all the customs. As usual, your kids are gorgeous!

OK, what do you guys think? I'm making ds some overalls for our trip. We leave end of Jan. I'm worried if I cut them off and make them shorts it's going to get cold. Of course, I check the FL weather a few days ago and it was 80!!!
The last time I went to DW, we went the last of Jan, the first of Feb and we only had 1 day that it was warm enough for shorts. So, I'd keep them long!

Gorgeous!! That is one of Tessa's favorite words. It fits in this case!

Sorry to hear about your coat! Your boys are so adorable!! I'm glad you made it to the show and had a good time after the puking incident!

Thanks! We used to do alot more with him in them, but I was afraid they would get rejected and started redoing them without him, even the other day DH originally had him in the transformer one talking about it. It is like he doesn't know when to stop and just be quiet though.

I couldn't tell you a hanna anderson outfit from an old navy outfit, but as long as the child was dressed nice and clean (as in clothes, hair, teeth, etc) it wouldn't make a bit of difference to me!

I love the expotv reviews that have people's kids in them!

I was going to say the same thing about name brands. I think they're great, but I can't tell the difference between those and our clearance Old Navy, Wal Mart, or Target clothes! :rotfl2:
