Heigh Ho, Heigh Ho
Off to shower I go.
The pants are made,
The cake is done.
Heigh ho, Heigh ho, Heigh ho.

It was Dallas' birthday yesterday but he was at the mountains with my parents so today will be his party when they bring him back! I am/was making a penguin outfit since that was his request.

I do still gotta make a shirt since I changed this morning what I was doing! Silly ole me! Way less work if I would have done what I originally planned!

I don't think I can make any design decisions without outside help.

I am gong to be Disney-fying some zipper hoodies for our trip in just a few weeks. Any ideas on how to do this?

I am thinking small Mickey head on the left chest side but not sure whether I should do more.

Depending on time that you have you could do something small on front left and then something on the back to match, like if Cinderella on back, then show on front, Tink on back, star wand on front, rose and Belle.

Or for just Mickey I would probably do a head on the front and maybe the back too if you want more.

Wow what a story, congratulations and I will pray for him to be a part of your forever family.

Awww thank you so much, we really appreciate all the prayers!!!

[Congratulations!!!!
Thank you!!!!

I just wanted to say Congratulations!!! We also adopted our youngest DD the same way (my older 3 are adopted from foster care, but a totally different situation) as you are adopting your son. We picked her up from the hospital at 2 days old. I was NOT going to get attached to her :rotfl: I loved her from the moment I laid eyes on her sweet face. She was also a legal risk placement. We had several scares with family stepping forward etc… But, the Lord worked it out. It was a long road to make her a permanent part of our family, but it was so worth it. I will keep your family in my prayers.

Here are a few pics:

This is all of the kids after she was home almost 6 weeks

And this is the whole clan at our adoption hearing.

We celebrated 1 year as a forever family on November 15th of this year. We will have our three year "Gottcha Day” at the end of February.

Oh wow, your family is beautiful. Adoption really is a wonderful thing, and a true blessing. Thank you so much for sharing your story and your pictures with me. I know this might be another long road ahead for us but we are praying that everything will turn out alright and that we get to adopt our sweet little baby boy. Thanks again...and congratulations on your forever family!!!!

wow what a touching story Many prayers for your family and this new lil one he needs a family like your's:grouphug: .

That is so sweet, thank you kindly!!!

I've been praying you get to keep him from the minute you told me! I will keep doing so.

Oh Teresa...thank you so much! The prayers are greatly appreciated!!!!!

Oh oh oh, I like the idea of Cinderelli on the back and a shoe on the front. THANK YOU. That will work for DD.

Here is his wrapping paper that it matches. I had to make his own party plate since there was nothing I liked with penguins, it also matches.

JoAnn's has some big disney appliques now. They have Mickey, Cinderella and Nemo at our store. They would be great on the back of a hoodie or a jean jacket.

Jessica, that is so cute!!! I love it!!!! That is about the cutest penguin I have ever seen! Where do you get the ringer ts? I really like the way those look.

Thanks, for the welcome. Think I will start with some Applique and then go from there. Now just fingure out what??? I will try to get some pics up soon. I have a DD who is 6, and a DS who is 4. My youngest is autistic but he has made tremendous progress in the last year. Both kids LOVE Disney.

Dallas is also obsessed with penguins, has been for well over a year now. It is so hard to find something with penguins and it not be christmas-y. The paper is christmas paper, but with the purple, pink and teal and no scarf or hat it doesn't much look like christmas.

The ringer tees are from Old Navy, I got them in June, this one is a size smaller then I wanted but otherwise I only had green and red shirts, neither of which I thought looked good. The tees were pretty cheap too, I can't remember exactly though. I hope they have them again this spring.

That turned out really cute! How did you do his eyes?

hi ladies!!

well how are all you crafty ones doing!!!

I had a question....the hat i made was a HIT at the parks...people were asking me right & left where they can buy them....well maybe i should make more????
but do you honestly think people would pay $100+ for one????
I want honesty girls!!
& I LOVE your work...you guys honestly inspire me...look out in the future...cause Im gonna make something ....oh & i did see some outfits down there...but i of course forgot to take a picture!!!!

Would you mind posting your hat again? I must have missed it!

I constantly lurk on this board, not as crafty as you all, but someday !!! Anyway I would like some advice, my husband was offered a job in Orlando. My question is for you boutiquers who live in Florida. We would be looking for a safe, quiet community/town with good schools. Where should we be looking ? I had a friend who had lived in Winter Haven, which was nice, not sure about that location for his job. We would be looking for a house in the $250,000 range. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks

I think I have been inspired to dust off the ol' sewing machine. What is the easiest thing to start with? Would it be embellishing t-shirts and jeans or something else? Ideas of things to get my feet wet with? I have painted jeans and t-shirts, but never appliqued. Here is one of the painted things I have done:

I'll take a closer picture later, they aren't as good as they look from far away. I just use the machine and set my stitches to be really close, 2 for length and then vary the width, starting at usually 2 for 4 stitches, then go 3, then 4, back to 3 and then back to 2. My machine is a disney brother embroidery and I have never done it on my regular machine but know I could come close to doing the same. On the bigger penguin I started bigger with a width of 4 and went up to 7, I think most basic machines only go as wide as 5.

I think it depends alot on what you want to make and learn. The first thing I ever made was a crib set for DS. It was simple enough, started out with the bumpers, nice squarish type deal. As for the outfits, I did overalls first. I like doing jeans because I don't use any stablizer or anything, just sew right on and it goes smooth. Shirts you usually have to use some sort of stablizer. But alot of the hassle with jeans or overalls (depending on the size) is opening the seams. Baby sizes usually have snaps!

CarolinesMom: I found that T-shirts were really easy to make for our trip (I own a sewing machine but I'm not really that handy with it). Our shirts were a big hit...especially the "AK" one. We got tons of compliments from the AK CMs. And they truly only took me minutes to make after I figured out how to do the first one.

Hi Ladies! I have been lurking on this thread for a LONG time, and I just now have something to share. I am totally inspired by you ladies!
My mother and I made this dress for my dd for Christmas (she's a seamstress, so when I get stressed out and mess something up she fixes it for me;) ). I think maybe I can accomplish the Cinderella one before we leave for disney:lmao: I am also collecting idea's from this thread for other customs for our trip! Anywho, here it is:
please excuse the dirt on the dress, she already wore it into the ground, and the gauntlets aren't quite finished yet either.
