well how are all you crafty ones doing!!!

I had a question....the hat i made was a HIT at the parks...people were asking me right & left where they can buy them....well maybe i should make more????
but do you honestly think people would pay $100+ for one????
I want honesty girls!!
& I LOVE your work...you guys honestly inspire me...look out in the future...cause Im gonna make something ....oh & i did see some outfits down there...but i of course forgot to take a picture!!!!

Having done some craft shows, my first thought was NO, people are CHEAP!! But after thinking on what people pay for Disney customs, I would have to change my mind. I like Teresajoys idea, to do one when ordered, or have one ready and see what kind of response you get.

Soooooo I was GOOD today, I found 2 rolls of film in a drawer and went and got them developed. They were from CHINA!!!!!!!! (2.5 years old) I have more pictures of my baby as a baby (ok well younger LOL). My DD told me Santa must have brought them

ETA: I just held the neckace up to the image on my computer. On my laptop screen, this picture is life-size.

That is so sweet!!! Ds(3) kept telling me he wanted to buy me a Cinderella snowglobe for Christmas. I said that he had to talk to his Dad about all that. I'm guessing he didn't make it out to the store because it hasn't shown up yet. That's ok tho, I consider myself blessed as it is.

I'm loving all the Christmas Eve pjs posting on the thread! A lot of family's share this tradition & I think it's so sweet! Here's what I made for the boys:

I'd originally planned on doing Rocket in Blue for Ds(6) & the Little Einsteins in Red for Ds(3). When I went to cut them out, both fabrics looked so precious. I couldn't decide & just knew they'd fight over which one's was better, so I intermixed the patterns. I'm a little disappointed in the result, but they were crazy over them!
I caught a sale on some camo fabric for DH, and whipped these up:

He also got camo Old Navy slippers! I'm guessing he loved his also, because he lived in them for the entire day!

These were my Christmas day creations for Ds(6), Ds(3) & Dn(1)....

My niece truly looked like a little doll in her corker & ruffles. I kept staring at her crawling around & smiling, I felt so accomplished. (Thanks for all the inspiration Dis sistas! )I'm pleased at how it worked out, but not sure if my sisters liked it.

My house is cleared of guests for the 1st in 2 weeks now. I'm washing sheets & towels & heading out to replenish our food supplies. Tommorow afternoon we go to Playhouse Disney Live on Tour. Ds(6) is overjoyed & made his own count down calendar for it. Ds(3) doesn't seem to care, until I ask if I can take one of his friends from school instead! If only I had a few more oz. of energy I'd "whip" up some customs for the show!

The pink cord fabric has a hint of gold sparkles in it, so it looks like she was dusted by Tink herself! She looked adorable & it's the 1st time my house has ever had a completely pink, girly, BDay party! It was great!

After just seeing Enchanted with my sisters the night before, I was owning my inner Princess persona, totally!! I can't wait to see that movie again, it was cute & we loved talking about all the hidden Disney stuff in the flik. Like the little girl had a soft disney princess doll in her room with sunglasses on & she had a copy of Cinderella on her bookshelf in the background! So many little things, it was cool. Go see this flik, it's fun! Seriously, I don't even like Patrick Demsey or Grey's & he did a good job with the lead.

Hi Molly, I don't remember if I told you thanks for the Cars FQ! Love it. Your kids are adorable. I too am "saving up" fabric squares for a quilt inspired by UMA and Spongie. I hope to start stitching squares together after my Disney trip. Can't wait to see what you make!

Thanks also for your fabric. I'm so glad the FQ's arrived okay. I didn't feel up to dragging two toddlers to the post office so I just stuck a whole bunch of stamps on the envelopes and hoped for the best!



I'm glad your hat got a lot of attention. It was gorgeous! I would love to CASE it but haven't found the strings of bling to do it. I did find a golden Mickey ears hat at the Disney Outlet store by me though for .99! I couldn't afford the $100 though, but I don't know, some people go crazy on Voldemort so I'm sure someone could afford it?

That's a beautiful set of mickey ears. I don't have a little girl so I wouldn't buy one, but I bet it would look fantastic with some of the customs on Ebay. Maybe one of the established boutique sellers would sell your hat along with their designs. You could give them a small portion of the profit.

I love all your pajamas. I started Rudulph custom pajamas for my boys but finals for grad school sucked up all my spare time this month and they didn't get finished. And I particularly love to see boy customs on these boards. You did a great job!

You have your original, right? Take pics and list it and see what happens! I'd make sure you made the listing very detailed (including how many stones are on it) so that people will know exactly what it is that they are bidding on. If anyone wants it, and realizes how much went into it, they'll pay the price.

The parental rights have not yet been terminated but Social Services believes they will be and therefore placed the baby in a fost-adopt family verses just with a foster family. We need all the prayers we can get because we fell in love with this little guy the moment we picked him up from the hospital. Who wouldn't??? We could not bare it if we lost him. I truly believe our hearts would be broken, including our little girls. She does love him like crazy and is always wanting to help. We truly hope the parental rights will be terminated due to the fact the birth parents are being charged with felony child abuse - resulting in death of a little baby they had last year. For right now we are going to care for and love this little guy as much as we can and pray that we can adopt him!!

I would say go to the clinic. I had been sick for about a week and a half with a chest cold and head cold and was starting to feel better. Then last Sunday at church I became so sick I could hardly walk. I'm almost back to normal today!

Sorry you were sick. My sniffles yesterday have blossomed into full-blown head cold. I am dizzy and out of sorts as we speak!

Oops, I forgot to post a picture of my Christmas "bling" from Tessa. Henry took her to the mall to buy me something. She told me she wanted to get me "beautiful jewels". He said she spotted it from across the store and said "That's the one". Then, she told Teresa "I CAN'T even TELL you how GORGEOUS it is." Here is the best Christmas gift ever:

It's the BIGGEST heart necklace I've ever seen! Every time someone comments on how BIG it is, Tessa's chest puffs up with pride. It's almost 2" across and really thick/puffy! I love it SO much that I don't want to wear it out of the house for fear that I might lose it! Seriously, I think it's incredibly sweet and I'm always going to treasure it!

I just wanted to say Congratulations!!! We also adopted our youngest DD the same way (my older 3 are adopted from foster care, but a totally different situation) as you are adopting your son. We picked her up from the hospital at 2 days old. I was NOT going to get attached to her I loved her from the moment I laid eyes on her sweet face. She was also a legal risk placement. We had several scares with family stepping forward etc… But, the Lord worked it out. It was a long road to make her a permanent part of our family, but it was so worth it. I will keep your family in my prayers.

The hat was gorgeous. I bet it was a hit. Now, personally, I wouldn't pay that much for it, and most people on here would tell you the same. Ater all, most of us sew because we don't want to pay the high prices. I will add, however, that I continue to be stunned and amazed at how much people will pay for something.

My suggestions. See if you can find the bling wholesale somewhere on line or something. It would bring down your initial OOP and up your profit margin. You could also try something a bit smaller -- like the headbands with the ears on it. Just cover the headband with the bling. Would you (well, your dd) be willing to part with the original? What if you promised to make her another one? Then you could test run the product without any additional expense. Another thought is to list the hat with pics of the original, but in the auction, state a 6 week delivery date or something like that.
