That hkite was SUCH a loser!! :rotfl2:

Soooooo I was GOOD today, I found 2 rolls of film in a drawer and went and got them developed. They were from CHINA!!!!!!!! (2.5 years old) I have more pictures of my baby as a baby (ok well younger LOL). My DD told me Santa must have brought them :goodvibes

Cindee

How cool!!! That must have been a wonderful surprise! I have a roll of film in my camera from when Tessa was a baby. I take about 2 pictures a year with it. Someday when the kids are 12 years old or so, I'll develop it! Hopefully the film won't be all eroded by then.

I love the jammies and the camo pants. Your DS's are SOOO cute! Your niece is quite a cutie, too. I love all the moose (mooses, moosi, mooseses)!! I love birthday outfit for your niece, too. Adorable!! Where did you find sparkly pink corduroy? Teresa and I are going to see Enchanted tomorrow.

What a bunch of cute kidz in cute outfitz!!

Thank you ALL for the wonderful sweet comments!!! We are growing our family through adoption but this is what is called a legal-risk adoption. The parental rights have not yet been terminated but Social Services believes they will be and therefore placed the baby in a fost-adopt family verses just with a foster family. We need all the prayers we can get because we fell in love with this little guy the moment we picked him up from the hospital. Who wouldn't??? We could not bare it if we lost him. I truly believe our hearts would be broken, including our little girls. She does love him like crazy and is always wanting to help. We truly hope the parental rights will be terminated due to the fact the birth parents are being charged with felony child abuse - resulting in death of a little baby they had last year. For right now we are going to care for and love this little guy as much as we can and pray that we can adopt him!!

Thanks again for the sweet comments.

I'll be praying that you are able to adopt your little guy!!!

CarolinesMom: I found that T-shirts were really easy to make for our trip (I own a sewing machine but I'm not really that handy with it). Our shirts were a big hit...especially the "AK" one. We got tons of compliments from the AK CMs. And they truly only took me minutes to make after I figured out how to do the first one.

Do you have pics of you t-shirts? I'd love to see them!

I have been pretty absent from this thread lately, except for the occasional catch-up on reading. Between Thanksgiving, Christmas and our anniversary trip to WDW last week, things have been a bit crazy.

All the new outfits are AWESOME. And, I think that all those with heart-born families are just the best!! We have 2 daughters, and so many people ask us if we're going to try for a boy. My thought is that, for now, my family is complete, but that if I ever wanted to add a boy to my family, I would go the adoption route. There are just too many children in this world without a family to love them.

Anyway, here are a few pictures of some of the customs that Nana made for the girls.

MickeyAK.jpg

At the Animal Kingdom Lodge where we stayed.

MickeyAKDaisy.jpg

Same dresses - but Daisy was quite impressed with the girls dresses, and even had them each do a spin, and she instructed them to hold their dresses out for this pic.

Sandmen.jpg

The girls finishing their bead strings at AKL. You can't tell in the picture very well, but that fabric is "sandmen" on the beach, instead of snowmen. Nana thought that it was quite appropriate, since we live in FL.

We celebrated 1 year as a forever family on November 15th of this year. We will have our three year "Gottcha Day” at the end of February.
Wow, thanks for sharing the pictures and some of your story! What a wonderful way to have a family!

I don't think I can make any design decisions without outside help.

I am gong to be Disney-fying some zipper hoodies for our trip in just a few weeks. Any ideas on how to do this?

I am thinking small Mickey head on the left chest side but not sure whether I should do more.

I'm thinking a big Mickey head on the back, or Mickey's face if you want to get fancy. Or, you could do the Mickey ears, without the whole head on the front and the head on the back. I like the other poster who said you should do the themed sweatshirts, too. That sounds really cute!

That penguin outfit is so cute! Make sure you post some pictures of the party and the cake!

I think I have been inspired to dust off the ol' sewing machine. What is the easiest thing to start with? Would it be embellishing t-shirts and jeans or something else? Ideas of things to get my feet wet with? I have painted jeans and t-shirts, but never appliqued. Here is one of the painted things I have done:

th_CarolineEarlyMarch06-30.jpg
You could always start with a pattern marked "easy". That's how I started and it gave me a lot confidence when I could actually follow a pattern and have it turn out okay. If you want to start w/ applique, I'd start with something square-ish. Curved lines are a little harder to do. My first applique was on a sweatshirt and I still think that's the easiest thing to applique on (but I've never tried denim).

I constantly lurk on this board, not as crafty as you all, but someday !!! Anyway I would like some advice, my husband was offered a job in Orlando. My question is for you boutiquers who live in Florida. We would be looking for a safe, quiet community/town with good schools. Where should we be looking ? I had a friend who had lived in Winter Haven, which was nice, not sure about that location for his job. We would be looking for a house in the $250,000 range. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks
I have no advice, but I want to tell you that I'm really jealous!

Hi Ladies! I have been lurking on this thread for a LONG time, and I just now have something to share. I am totally inspired by you ladies!
My mother and I made this dress for my dd for Christmas (she's a seamstress, so when I get stressed out and mess something up she fixes it for me;) ). I think maybe I can accomplish the Cinderella one before we leave for disney:lmao: I am also collecting idea's from this thread for other customs for our trip! Anywho, here it is:
please excuse the dirt on the dress, she already wore it into the ground, and the gauntlets aren't quite finished yet either.

WOW!!! This is beautiful!!!! What kind of fabric did you use for it? It looks so professional. Of course, the beautiful model also helps!

Adorable! I love the "sandmen". I agree, more pictures, please!!

I got a new machine!!!!!!!! :cool1: :dance3: :yay:    I went to Walmart last night to look at machines, write down some model numbers and come home to research them. Well, I was looking at the Brother CS6000 and it was on clearance for $98 (regular price $196). I found out it was the floor model that was the only one left at that price. So, I called dh and he said "go for it"! So, I did!!!!

I came home and did some research one it and read lots of great reviews! I'm so excited, it even came with a load of feet and attachments (no gathering foot, though  ) It has a zipper foot, blind hemming foot, 2 or 3 quilting feet, buttonhole foot, walking foot and I can't remember what else. I can't wait to get started with it, I just wanted to tell you guys!

HeatherSue, I love that necklace. It is so cute!

Love the Pan costume on ds, Dreamer & Wisher!:) Thanks ;)

I'm loving all the Christmas Eve pjs posting on the thread! A lot of family's share this tradition & I think it's so sweet! :grouphug: Here's what I made for the boys:
Ds6PJs.jpg

Ds3PJs.jpg

I'd originally planned on doing Rocket in Blue for Ds(6) & the Little Einsteins in Red for Ds(3). When I went to cut them out, both fabrics looked so precious. I couldn't decide & just knew they'd fight over which one's was better, so I intermixed the patterns. :confused3 I'm a little disappointed in the result, but they were crazy over them!
I caught a sale on some camo fabric for DH, and whipped these up:
DhPJs.jpg

He also got camo Old Navy slippers! :rotfl: I'm guessing he loved his also, because he lived in them for the entire day!:goodvibes

These were my Christmas day creations for Ds(6), Ds(3) & Dn(1)....
ChristmasTriplets.jpg

My niece truly looked like a little doll in her corker & ruffles. I kept staring at her crawling around & smiling, I felt so accomplished. (Thanks for all the inspiration Dis sistas!;) )I'm pleased at how it worked out, but not sure if my sisters liked it.

My house is cleared of guests for the 1st in 2 weeks now. :cool1: I'm washing sheets & towels & heading out to replenish our food supplies. Tommorow afternoon we go to Playhouse Disney Live on Tour. Ds(6) is overjoyed & made his own count down calendar for it. Ds(3) doesn't seem to care, until I ask if I can take one of his friends from school instead!:rotfl: If only I had a few more oz. of energy I'd "whip" up some customs for the show!
The pajamas are adorable, I need to find some of that Little Einstein's fabric.
Have fun at Playhouse Disney! I love the moose christmas clothes!
We celebrated my niece's 1st BDay while they were visiting with us & she wore this custom made by moi:
BDayDress.jpg

The pink cord fabric has a hint of gold sparkles in it, so it looks like she was dusted by Tink herself!:wizard: She looked adorable & it's the 1st time my house has ever had a completely pink, girly, BDay party! princess: It was great!

After just seeing Enchanted with my sisters the night before, I was owning my inner Princess persona, totally!! I can't wait to see that movie again, it was cute & we loved talking about all the hidden Disney stuff in the flik. Like the little girl had a soft disney princess doll in her room with sunglasses on & she had a copy of Cinderella on her bookshelf in the background! So many little things, it was cool. Go see this flik, it's fun! Seriously, I don't even like Patrick Demsey or Grey's & he did a good job with the lead.
Happy 1st Birthday!!!:cutie: I want to go see Enchanted too!
It's a little late but my mom finally emailed me these pictures!! Here's DD and DN on THANKSGIVING. And DS's overalls.

Better late than never!!

Here's a few from Christmas Eve. My camera is dead so I'm waiting to upload those.

That's one of my nephews kissing Emily.

ADORABLE! (the clothes and the kidz!)

I am sooooooooooooo far behind on this thread.

Heather, I love that necklace and I have one similar, but it's silver w/gold accents. Tessa is such a sweetie! And, your family pic on Christmas eve was adorable! That definitely needs to go in your sig!

I can't remember who it was that got the new baby boy ... but :cheer2: YAY! and :grouphug: and prayers that all will work out well!

For those that got new machines & sergers for Christmas    Congrats!

I've loved all the Christmas customs. It would take forever to go back and quote them all!

And lastly, just for the record... who is #2 on the posting list? ;)

I just wanted to say Congratulations!!! We also adopted our youngest DD the same way (my older 3 are adopted from foster care, but a totally different situation) as you are adopting your son. We picked her up from the hospital at 2 days old. I was NOT going to get attached to her :rotfl: I loved her from the moment I laid eyes on her sweet face. She was also a legal risk placement. We had several scares with family stepping forward etc… But, the Lord worked it out. It was a long road to make her a permanent part of our family, but it was so worth it. I will keep your family in my prayers.

Here are a few pics:

Here is Dallas' outfit for his birthday.

Here is his wrapping paper that it matches. I had to make his own party plate since there was nothing I liked with penguins, it also matches.
I love the penguins! Of Course I love seeing stuff for boys. DD just picked her cake out for her party next Saturday, she picked out a Surf's Up cake. I thought that movie was so cute.
I don't think I could applique any of the characters though. . .:lmao:

I love those overalls. I think there are some step by step instructions for applique on the sewing links. Look in the first post or in any of Teresa's or HeatherSue's posts for a link to a lot of helpful hints and some free directions.

It looks like you all had a lot of fun!

Do you want to just applique or sew too? Pillowcase dresses are really easy to sew. Check out the bookmarks in my siggy for free patterns, sewing information, and all sorts of crafts and things and the photobucket account with all of our creations for some ideas. (link in first post of this thread).

These are great outfits!!! Yeah Nana!!! How is she? she hasn't posted in awhile. I love AKL, we ate at Boma last year, and then looked around. It is such a neat place. We talked to quite a few of the CMs. They are really interesting!

The Daisy Duck picture is great!!! And, I'm loving those sandman dresses!

Hey does anyone use there cricut to make applique patterns?? I know someone said they cut fabric with it- But I bet the pad has to be pretty new to do it. If you do do you cut them a little bigger then you want for the final project? Any other tips, I am going to FINALLY play with my new Disney cartridges this weekend!! TIA

I think dh and I will "go out" this weekend- I want to see a movie.popcorn:: Any suggestions?? I think the last movie I saw in the theater was spiderman 3!!!

Well, now I've gone and done it! I've cancelled Primetime ressies and changed them to 1900 Park Fare (dinner) for our last park night. I've already started a (CASED) Cinderella custom!! Hopefully I'll be able to post pictures tomorrow! My little man is not felling well and I'm not sure I'll get to work on it during nap. I haven't told DH that we have 2 princess dinners! I couldn't cancel PSB because Emily LOVES Snow White and would love to see her! I was looking forward to Primetime, but figured Em would have more fun at 1900.

We are doing 1900 Park Fare in May. I'm so excited!!! It looks like a lot of fun. The girls (5 of them) will be doing BBB that morning. I hope your little guy gets to feeling better! We've all been battling colds around here.

I can't wait to see the Cinderella custom!!!!

OMG!! I've had my eye on this machine! I'll see you later, I have to run to Walmart. I think it usually runs for about $169.

Is this the Lady Tremaine dinner? Now.... I really am leaving for walmart.

Wow, I finally caught up I was 20 pages behind, things just got busy around here.

Congrats to everyone who got new machines for Christmas!

I love the customs! They are all gorgeous. I never got around to doing more Christmas customs other than what I had done for our Nov./Dec. trip.

I've got to get over to Hancock fabrics and pick up some Valentine's, St. Pat's and Easter stuff so I can actually get ahead. I also have to start planning out customs for our trip in June. We're going as a surprise to Delaney for her 4th birthday. While we were down at WDW in Dec. I called exactly 180 days out for BBB and 1900 Park Fare for her birthday dinner. I can't wait to take her down there. We were going to stay at AKL but it looks like we'll be at Pop Century. She loves that resort but we'll see what we do, I'm still trying to swing it.

It's been an interesting Christmas. The Friday before I found out one of my girlfriends, who had just found out she has lymphoma, was having severe headaches, they admitted her to the hospital to start her chemo early, it was farther along than they first thought. She's holding her own right now and fighting hard.

The Sunday before someone hit my truck. We're all okay, we were going really slow but the truck has to go in for work starting next week. At least it wasn't my fault and we were going slow. We have the same insurance company too so that's making it a little easier. Now I have a reason to clean out my truck, it's a disaster. :)

Christmas itself was nice and quiet. We had a nice time. Delaney enjoyed her things. We scales way back this year, last year was way too much, and this year was just right.

We're starting to get back on a family schedule this weekend and getting into our organization goal for 2008. We're off to IKEA in a few minutes to get a couple of storage containers for toys and a couple of things for the sewing area that I'm working on in my bedroom. I just have to find the shelving at Home Depot or Lowe's this week, my dad will come over and help me get it all up.

I just ordered our photopass cd this morning so I should have new pictures from our trip in a week or so, there are some great Santa pics on there. I don't want to visit Santa anywhere but DTD from now on, too bad we don't live closer.

hi ladies!!

well how are all you crafty ones doing!!!

I had a question....the hat i made was a HIT at the parks...people were asking me right & left where they can buy them....well maybe i should make more????

I want honesty girls!!
& I LOVE your work...you guys honestly inspire me...look out in the future...cause Im gonna make something ....oh & i did see some outfits down there...but i of course forgot to take a picture!!!!
I agree with the other girls! :)

and list one as a custom order ... & give yourself plenty of time to make one + shipping time ...

Alot of us are super-thifty & make our own stuff ...
But there are plenty of people out there, that don't make their own things AND can afford such stuff ... they can (& would rather) pay someone else to make it for them, instead of doing it themselves ... or maybe they reeeeally want one, but just don't have the time ...
If it doesn't sell, you're not out much.
If it does sell, you might have found yourself a niche! :)

modeled pictures help in listings.
Good Luck ... :)!

We invited DH's grandma, her sister, her sister's daughter, and her children. But, they had a friend staying with them, so they brought her along, too. She is the one with the dog. So, we didn't even invite her, much less her dog! She also talked a lot about all the crimes she was falsely accused of and the corrupt justice system in this country. But, she shut up about that once DH told her he was going to be training for the police reserves starting in January.

I KNOW!!!!! Anyone else want to chime in here and let me know I'm not just being a jerk? Or, if you think I'm being a jerk, let me know why!

BAD DOG! Bad Owner! ...
Good Heather!
Actually, It sounds like you & your hubby were as nice about it as you possibly could be, about the whole entire thing!!
Don't feel bad about it ... !
