Hey guys - somewhere in the almost a thousand pages is a link to a website to print pages for autograph books. Does anyone have that link handy that they can pm me with it??? We are headed down 3 weeks from TODAY!!!
I have got to get busy - the clothes are almost all taken care of (thanks to all the people that helped me locate material that I was hunting) but I haven't gotten started at all on the autograph books. - Please please someone help me out - trip is a complete suprise for all the kids, all the clothes are a suprise and the autograph books would just make me Super Mom!!
Off to sew zebra ribbon and applique shirts for Animal Kingdom then hopefully print pages for autograph books -

Always go to TeresaJoy's bookmarks if you are trying to find a link to something here!   Here is her site:

I saw a section all about autograph books. Good luck! :thumbsup2

Wow look at that....70 more pages till we get to 1000! Keep going ladies and gentlemen!

She has black boots she going to be wearing with it along with the big hoop pirate earrings. Any ideas to make it look more piratey? I told her you guys would be the ones to ask!

I think an appliqued skull & crossbones on the skirt would be cute and make it more piratey. And maybe an eyepatch?

I am currently making this jumper from YCMT and I was wondering what settings do I need to use on my ruffler foot to gather the strips with the bodice? I have been playing with the settings and I can't seem to get it right! Please help. TIA

it depends what machine you have. I know for mine I set the stitch length long and the tention high.

I think it looks fabulous just as it is!!!! Maybe an eye patch but that is it it is perfect!!

Thanks I forgot about the eye patch. I'm kind of scared of trying the applique but I may have to.

I'd practice on something else first, but I know you could do it. If nothing else, you should be able to find an iron-on this time of year. Good luck!

Okay I'd say an eye patch, maybe some of that trim with coins if you want "bling" somewhere. Also I'd go for striped tights or leggings with the black boots.

Waldamort had some iron on skull and crossbones crystal bling.

I haven't posted here for awhile but I read the thread constantly and enjoy seeing all the beautiful outfits that are made on here.

My daughter told me she wanted to be a pirate for Halloween but wanted it to be pink & black. This is the fabric she picked out and what we've come up with. She loves it but I don't think it looks very piratey (if that's a word but I know how you all love to make up words on here! :lmao: ). More like a pirate wench maybe but that sounds bad for a 10 yo.

Very Cute!!! My first thought was eyepatch too! DD is going to be a pirate too...here's her costume.

She is going to wear striped tights (black or red? and white) with black "converse" hightops. I'm also going to make her a feathered tri-corn hat. She will also have a eye patch and her very own parrot (her almost 2yo brother)

Oh, your daughter is very cute and I love her outfit. :yay:

I just ordered some pink and black striped tights yesterday but I figured that would put the outfit over the edge! We'll see what they look like when we get them.

I'm guessing we used the same pattern from YCMT for the skirt. I just made up the pattern for her corset because she wanted it to tie.

I love the parrot idea but I'm guessing I won't be able to get her teenage brothers to go for that one! :rotfl:

I saw a parrot that sits on your shoulder the other day at Waldemart.

:rotfl2: That still cracks me up! I can't wait to see pics of them together!

Ok, question... I found out that there is a lady at our Church that makes jewelry!!! She and I talked about what I would like and she told me that she would be on the lookout for Disney beads and I would too. Anyone have suggestions for me? I'm just needing the beads, not already made jewelry. So if you have a favorite seller, would you please PM me?
:thanks:

I think the striped tights will look great with your dd's costume, and great job on the corset!! It's Halloween - the perfect time to be a little over the top!! Em's Costume laces up too and the corset is reversible. I haven't figure out which side she will wear. The other side is the red stripe with the pirate material in the middle (where the laces are)
Here's a picture of the back. I still need to make her a peasant shirt - even if she'll have to wear a turtleneck under it. It can get pretty cold here in Michigan on Halloween! (Of course a few years back it was gorgeous and 80+)

The corset does lay better - it was all bunched in the picture!

I have the brother 6000, but what stitch length did you go with? Also it seems more like a pleat than a ruffle, is that a different setting or will it adjust with the stitch length? TIA

While we are on the subject - what color tights would everyone put with this costume? I'm thinking either red or back with white stripes. She'll wear black high tops.

Kansas_visitors... Joann's has some cute pirate appliques or bling!! I just got small jolly roger bling to put on dd's shoes!

I think that I would use red and white, it would bring out the red and white trim on corset.

Thank you everyone for the great comments.
curtisrs - I actually did not make the bows. I don't think I am very good at that at all! it is not my thing. Where in down under do you live again?

hkite - And josephine is a great name! Everyone always says it is old fashion but we love it!

Well the bows are very pretty anyway. I think I just need to take the plunge and make them. We live in Adelaide which is in the state of South Australia. Not sure if you know it.

On my ruffler foot you can adjust in how many stiches it ruffles, 12, 6 or 1 the depth of the ruffle from 8 to 1 and then the stitch length. To get more of a gathered look rather than a pleated look I put my settings on it to ruffle every 1 stitch, at a depth of 4 with a 4.5 stitch length. You kind of just have to play with it to see what works best for what you want. I fine a longer stitch length seems to work better with the 1 setting. Hopes this helps.

I finished the dress I wanted to make for DD for Ohanas....I love it  A special thanks to teresajoy for sending me this Lilo fabric! You were so nice to do that for me!!!!

I think either color tights would look good with your daughter's outfit. I told my DH that I ordered the tights and he said "like a witch?" I told him that they were for pirates too.

I think the jolly roger bling would look good, I'll have to check it out if I make it there. The closest one is 70 miles away.

I made Tiff's corset reversible too, the inside is just the plain pink.

Oh :scared1: I almost forgot to show you all the matching outfit I made for her American Girl doll. I still have to make her the peasant shirt, the shirt is one that she already had.
