Isn't she adorable!! Did you do your pillowcase dress with elastic in the front?

I think yours is my favorite!

Ok, so I asked my parents and hubby to go in on one and my mom said I was nuts! She said they are thousands of dollars... I guess I didn't realize that.

Does anyone recommend one and is it true they are that much?

I'm a big DUH, but am REALLY into sewing!

I am not sure but I think the Disney one at Walmart is around $400. I would check it out. It might be what you need.

My Mom wants a Berina (sp) They around $3000 and that is for the basic model. She said she is just going to save her money and buy her dream machine someday.

Hi ladies!
i'm a frequent lurker, infrequent poster. I love everyone's designs. This thread makes me have daughter envy so bad.

I wanted to post a few projects I finished recently. First is a Buzz Lightyear hoodie. Our next trip is in January and I thought it might be a little cool in the evenings. Also pictured is a coloring bag I made for DS's best friend. I have plenty of the Muppets fabric and embroidery designs. I'm making baby a Muppet hoodie next. Perfect for MGM right?

SOOO adorable! I have a hard time finding things for DS at 7 years - I may have to make him one of these out of pirate material. Oooh - I have so much sewing to do and not enough time before we leave!

someone may have already answered, but thought I would in case. Have you tried the transfer paper that says it is for dark fabric? I think it has a white background instead of a clear so that you don't lose the color or detail.

I bought these of that auction site - they didn't give me a choice.

Yeah, heather...I've taken my nephew to the store many a time in a super hero costume. Until he started school (and we weren't really sure how that was gonna go) he wouldn't wear anything else, he has them all he even has "peter parker" and "bruce wayne" outfits. One day we were at a fish store (the pet kind) and I was trying to get his attention I said "hey Spidey, check out this fish" to which my DN points to his maskless (he'd left it in the car) face and says "ti ti, I'm Peter Parker" EVERYONE in the store was in stitches and I almost pee'd my pants!

My DD has worn the Belle ball gown (in my sig) all over town. I figure for $60 I will let her get some wear out of it. Heck, I still wear my wedding tiara when I clean my house and I have been married for six years!!! My Mom was surprised how much use I got out of it!!:rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2:

AWWWW thanks.... :cloud9:

Actually all I did was add the "ready ruffle" from waldemort and on the front I gathered the top after inserting the ribbon and sewed the ribbon in. It was super easy and I actually had a lady chase me down in front of Laugh Floor to ask where I bought it. I could have hugged her!!!

I hope DS is feeling better soon! My DS was (still kinda is) an ear infection kid - that is until he got tubes ((HUGS)).
Love the pic of DD with Minnie! So cute!

He's on Augmentin... this is the second time for this drug it and the zpack seem to work the best for him. I had to fight the Dr. to keep him off Omnicef - it seems to make them worse! We haven't gone the tubes route because I seriously think that it's the teething. But if it doesn't stop soon I am going to ask about them. The thing is you never know with him till it's too late that he has one he's such an easy going kid!

Daisylou - thanks for the pattern number Im going to have to find that one and check it out - how hard was the zipper?

Still wondering if anyone can help me with the jeans... do I hand sew them or machine stitch... Im just not sure how to get the jeans onto the machine to stitch them!!!

And I learned another valuable lesson at lunch time today - "furry fleece" is called that for a reason - Im cutting some for a quilt and it looks like Elmo was sitting on my lap!

Check out the Creative DISigns board. They have some really cute designs on there that you can print on your own transfer paper.

Ok - I'll check it out - it seems the last time I looked there was only one Hannah Montana and I didn't care for it.

I went looking for the DISigns board and can't find it again - can anyone link me to it?

Cool Hannah Montana!!!

I'm working on an Animal Kingdom outfit for Miss Norah. Using 4 animal prints. In the winter, it might look ok with a black shirt underneath with black fur cuffs. How does one do fur wrist cuffs? We also have some leopard leggings that would be FIERCE with this.

I also like the look of leopard with PINK. I dunno!!!!

I haven't been to this board in a while, but the last time I was there, you could ask some extra nice DISigners to work on a specific design for you.

I'm working on some overalls and I didn't think that the light duty machine I had would work on denim so I made some faux frayed patches. I cut some squares from Heat-n-Bond and attached them to the wrong side of my fabric squares leaving about a 1/2 inch of fabric beyond the HnB. Then I stitched a straight stitch on the right side of the fabric just outside the HnB. Then I removed the paper backing and ironed the "patches" to the overalls. I've washed them once and the patches are fraying nicely and have stayed attached for the most part.
**Edited to add that it seems that most people just open the inner seam to sew directly on the jeans, but I think you mentioned in your original question thet you preferred not to have to do that.**

Hope the antibiotics kick in soon and take care of your DS's EI.

You could just post asking for someone to create one for you. They are super helpful on that board!

Here's an outfit my DD wore to school today... I thought it was rather funny that it looks a lot like the other shirt LisaZoe posted... of course I'm SURE mine is not sewed as well. I'm still learning!

She just came home from school, so she's all tired and its a bit "worn" (ie: dirty from lunch) LOL

Here it is!

I need to catch up on the thread, and comment on all the great new posts... so easy to fall behind!

How very alike the shirts are, you guys must share some weird brain wave. I have a girlfriend w/ a daughter named Zoe, maybe I'll have to make her one so she can be in the club, although she's 10 so I;m not sure she'd go for it;)

Ok, I let Megan pick what kind of bottoms: the jeans cut off into capris, regular capris or skorts. She picked skorts so I went with that. I still have fabric left so I figure I can make the jean/capris when it gets cooler. I would have done some things differently, but I'm not messing with it now. I would have done the Mickey ears better (someone asked why there was a muffin on the child's head at the bus stop). I would have used matching thread for the hair and maybe the face. I wanted to stitch her name on the Mickey ears but it was too late when I thought of that. I tried to do it with it already on, but was unsuccessful. Anyway, Megan loves it and had to wear it to school today so I am off to Joann's to buy Nemo fabric and then I am done with Disney for a bit I think. I have only made her seven outfits for four days!

Good, now you have time to do MY appliqueing!!! or at least let me come over so you can teach me!!! I have all the tutorials, I'm just ascared to try by myself.
LOVERLY!!! I wasn't going to put a little girl on mine, I was gonna do the big golf ball and embroider Epcot on it, but I like the idea of her name on the mickey ears, my mom is awfully artistic, maybe I can use the basic face and she can make me curly hair to go on it like Liliana's. That'd be cool.

IF ANYONE HAS EXTRA ANIMAL PRINT FABRIC LET ME KNOW...I swear I have had the most unproductive fabric shopping trips, No pooh Toile, 2 animal prints out of 3 stores (tiger and cheetah) NO BOWDABRA (I need one of those!!!) Grrr, I've been a bit ticked off about it, can you tell??? OH and no red fabric w/small white dots. (for my flounces)

I'm in search of some Nemo ideas. Does anyone have pics of Nemo appliques? Is there still a site with all the pictures listed so I can CASE some ideas? Thanks!

The link to the pictures is on the very first post in this thread, along with a link to teresajoy's bookmarks. So, if you ever lose it, just check the first post.

Just as cute as ever!! What a cute skort and I still like the black outline the best. A muffin?! What crazy person asked that?

Are you saying that you made this before you saw LisaZoe's Zoe shirt? If so, what a coinkidink! It's really cute and so is the little model!

ok everyone - STOP SEWING!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

you must look at this headband.... perfect for epcot!!!!! and to match all thos outfits!

look up Bowfairies boutique House of LOVE jeweled HEADBAND

I saw this and thought of all of you today!!!!!!!!

Lori
p.s. You may now resume sewing!

Lori,
That is a really cute headband. You're right it would go with the Epcot outfits.

Are you looking for a specific animal print? My Ben Franklin has a large fabric dept and several animal prints. I got a giraffe, white tiger, and a cheetah for DD's AK skirt. Of course, this is all quilting fabric so it's $8/yd but it's just gorgeous.

I'm glad I still have 2 months to go! My list of projects just keeps getting longer and longer.

Also, a DS funny. I was sewing a dress for my friend's DD, previous to that I made a skirt for DD and 4 other skirts for my friend's DD. DS was watching me sew this dress and asked if I could please make him a SKIRT, too! I said, no, I will be making him some Cars shorts next because girls wear skirts. He thought about it and replied that he'd rather have a "boy skirt" instead!

Hey Utahmama-

Search :wizard: for this Lil Peas custom boutique ALICE in WONDERLAND costume.

Looks like you did a pretty good job!!!

(I used :wizard: because I detest Harry Potter. Sorry girls!)

I'm trying to use 4 too (see above post) to do the spiral twirl skirt w/ polkadot flounces to add that bit of minnie, I think though I'm going to attach it to the stripwork bodice so it's a spiral twirl TOP instead, clever huh?? then I'll make jeans w/ little animal print mickey heads....If I get over my fear of applique. OK, 66 days left (but hey, who's counting, right???) w/ 4.25 outfits left PLUS costumes for the lot...I'm in over my head, I may be handing off a few tasks to the "mom's" as we call them, I can't get help w/ one w/out getting help from the other..it's just not fair so more often than not we refer to them in tandem.

OKAY, I lost my multiquote so I don't remember who said they clean the house in their tiara- But I am going to from now on. I've been trying to adopt a better general outlook as I tend to leave the magic at WDW and really shouldn't we be striving for magic EVERY day,not just on vacation??? SO from now on I'm wearing my tiara while I clean. It cost me $150, I oughta get some wear out of it!!!

I do not know the size you need but Jo Ann's has pretty cool animal print fat quarters. I bought a couple to do a strip skirt.

Also, Hancocks has new animal print with the quilting and Jo Ann's has flannel animal print. I was thinking about doing AK sleepy pants.

Okay, I am going back to Princess Dress *^*^%*&^*(**(%^%. Hopefully I will finish tonight!
