thanks everyone for all the compliments on the dresses and my girls...they both absolutely love their dresses and can't wait for me to put the mickey head on them :scared1:

I LOVE the kitty skirt. I have one of those fabrics, now I'm on a mission to find some to coordinate! Could you tell me the name of the stripe and flower? Thanks!

Been away from the computer for a few days and I'm trying to catch up, so this may have been addressed --- my Wal-Mart has all of these kitty prints, plus a few others to coordinate.

I continued to be amazed by everyone's work. Just when I think I've seen it all and wonder what could anyone possibly do to top the latest, BAM, someone posts and it's "outta sight!"

Has anyone used that E-6000 glue for the rhinestone Mickey head t-shirts? I was wondering if it would be just as good as the hot fix.
Thanks!!

I use E6000 on everything, it's great! I used it glue rinestones on to some dress up clothes for my dd. It even held up in the washer and dryer. We haven't lost a stone yet. I've even used it to glue stones on her crocs!

I am trying to sew button holes into knit fabric. :sad1: It is not going well. I have on 'done' but it looks like I just chewed a hole in the fabric. My machine keeps getting jammed or stuck in one place. Any tips?

I haven't tried making buttonholes on knit but I think using stabilizer would be worth a try - and I'd practice on scraps of the fabric first.

I haven't done a lot of jewels with that glue but did add a few to a tee I made for DD. I've been very pleased that they've stayed on even after many times in the washer and dryer.

LisaZoe- You twirl skirts/dresses have off the charts TWIRL FACTOR (TF)

:goodvibes My DD loves to twirl and the first few skirts I made for her just didn't flare out enough as she twirled. It took some experimentation but I finally came up with a good "formula" for the skirt panels to assure plenty of twirl capacity. LOL

Lisazoe - your work is absolutely exquisite! Your aurora is incredible!

:cloud9: Thank you! I used to paint these characters but finally took the leap to teach myself to applique last December and I'm so glad I did. Now my fabric and thread are my "paint".

I finished the babes Nemo dress. It is a little long but that's okay. The girls will being wearing them to Epcot in the morning. It will be a little chilly so I will most likely bring white cardigans for them.

They binding tape hints were great! Now that I know one side is wider my whole life has changed!!!

Thanks, Grandmouse. Utahmama bought hers at Wal-Mart too. But we don't shop there, ever, so that's why I needed the name of the fabric to find it elsewhere (which I haven't so far been lucky in finding). Thanks for the thought though!

Here is an outfit for 'Ohanas

I cant take credit.. I passed it on the my kids godmother to do lol I did pick out the fabric ;)

They shirt is not done in these pics.. it stills needed to be sewed on the neck and arms. And the appliqués put on belle's, they were trying it on for size.

Heck, I  today just finding out that 2008 rates have been released! We already have our deposit down but I've been curious how much more our total will go up. Now to wait for AAA discounts.

FYI- we booked through AAA for March 2008. Our total 8 night All Star, 7 Park days, Basic Dining Plan was $2350. We saved $230 by booking through AAA. The very unhelpful CM said our hotel alone would be $1109 and an additional 10% off with AAA. He would not break anything down for us! So I went with AAA.

You ladies are so BAD for my budget!!!!!!!

I have been soooo good! I have not gone to the little "expensive" fabric store for the longest time. But I was over that way today and after visiting a YUCKY Kmart I figured I deserved a treat. So I stopped in. I just wanted to look around and compare the quality of fabrics......... I was just going to look...

My cc is STILL smoking!
AND I did not buy even 1 Disney fabric!
I may never be able to buy Walmart fabric again.:rolleyes1 These cottons were SOOOOOOO nice (and at 8.50+ a yard they should be). The colors are so rich, and the thickness of the fabric was wonderful!

I understand your pain. I used to be satisfied using WalMart fabric and the less expensive prints from JoAnns... at least until I started using more of the quilt shop prints. Now it's so hard to go back. I'm still a bargain shopper so I usually only buy from the local quilt shop when I can't find a print elsewhere for a better price (once I factor in shipping). I still go a couple times a month but mostly to see new prints in person and to check out their clearance section. I definitely recommend checking out the search engine quiltshops.com. Type in the keywords, like color, designer, etc., and it will check 190+ online shops for matching items. I love to do price checks that way because usual price can vary from $7-10 per yard for the same prints. It's so exciting, too, when I can find a print on sale. I also like to check Hancocks of Paducah for their clearance items. They often have prints there that most other stores are still selling at full price. :dance3:

Okay, ladies (and Tom) where can I find a good seller for appliques? I'm needing Pooh bear and something for DS. PM me if you have any suggestions for sellers!!

A lady in my knitting group is opening up a yarn/fabric store. She has really good taste too, dangerous dangerous.

Hi Ladies, and Tom...:rotfl:
I need some help. I'm trying to decide what my girls should wear on their MK day. :confused3 I'm so confused. They usually do princess dresses complete with tiara, glitter in hair, full princess make up....the works... They get tons of attention, and I love their photos with the princesses...but this year, it's just too hot, so I don't know what they should wear...
These are the things I don't want them to wear...
Pillowcase dresses....they get sunburn easily, and I'm worried about their shoulders being exposed all day
Denim Minnie halter overalls....even if they are halteralls....the denim is just too hot...we had a bad experience with a pair of those....
So any ideas would be great.
I'm working on the (*&^%$#$%^&*(* Tinkerbell outfit....It's going great :headache: NOT!!!!! More on that later...
I just got done eating a huge piece of birthday cake to make myself feel better...it's my mom's birthday....LOL

That is exactly what I was looking for. Thanks!
What does Magic Sizing do?

I   it and wouldn't change a thing!!!

Love the Pooh dress and really love the fabric combo for H&V! I have the Pooh toile, but no Pooh fans here! Just bought it because ?

I also vote for the red/white gingham.

You did a great job for your first attempt!!

Would you please tell me what pattern you used for the skirt? I've been trying to make a tulle tutu skirt, but I like this one too! And I think the top looks great as is!

The pattern is Mc Calls 4914. I think they are on sale at hancock's Aug 9-12.

Wow, wow and OH WOW!!! Now I really feel like a slob!!!

Well there was this darling Minnie outfit and pants on e bay a little while ago. Triple ruffle top and pants...I think there was some kind of drama about it though:rolleyes1 It "might" have fit your daughter too.

Seriously though, I am a firm believer in white t shirts. It covers the shoulders and a nice cool color. With your talent you could make a really cute t-shirt dress. Cute princess fabric, twirl factor, and cool sunburn protection. Plus when you are done, you could.....ship it to someone else:love:

What about a peasant blouse and twirly skirt?
I found this blog and think this top is soo cute.

I want one for myself...although maybe a different fabric ;)

My sister and I (plus our kids and our mom) were absolutely ecstatic over the opening of a new WalMart in my sister's hometown. Wanna know the BEST PART!?!?!?!?! They have a fabric department. We took photos with my camera phone to mark this glorious occasion.

I thought we were going to try to look silly, but my sister had to look all cute.(I'm in blue, she's in black)
