This is wonderful! I have been wanting to get the candy cane tool, does this one from Michaels work just as well?

I'm sorry, I don't know what the candy cane tool is. This is the first time I've done this, so I don't have a point of reference, but this tool worked great for me! Of course, if someone else has lots of experience, there's a chance that they would say that this tool is the worst on the market, but I don't have anything to compare it to - sorry.

Have you seen the new colors for the Disney Crocs for kids and adults? I went to the Crocs site to order new Crocs for our vacation and saw the new colors and :faint: The sad thing is they are out of stock of those colors. :sad1: Luckily, they have 2 months to get them in stock before we leave for our trip.

I haven't seen the new colors yet...off to look after this!

I am trying to sew button holes into knit fabric. :sad1: It is not going well. I have on 'done' but it looks like I just chewed a hole in the fabric. My machine keeps getting jammed or stuck in one place. Any tips?

It is very sad to have an outfit almost done and then 'ruin' it.

These both look FANTASTIC. That Nemo fabric is so cute and cheery. The girls Nemo dress is my next project.

I just realized something... I have breaks/naps planned in the middle of our park days, so I guess that means the girls can change clothes before heading back to the parks!!!!!!!!!!!!!! So it's ok to make two outfits for each park, right?:cool1:  :yay: Well, except AK, since they will close at 5:00, we're just gonna stay all day. But, we should have a backup outfit in case they spill something! ;)

We are doing this! Most days we are changing parks so changing outfits is a must.;) I like the way you think!

I think two outfits a day is very reasonable! I had one a day planned last year, and we only went to Universal, IOA, Seaworld and Busch Gardens. So 2 is great for Disney World, i mean it's hot enough (even when we go in January) to change after that nap. Oh and when you go to any special things like Hoop De Doo revue ( My DD will be wearing Castles Cow outfit there) and the Pirate and Princess Party ( still working on that one) and maybe a big beautiful ruffle dress like LisaZoe made ( I am trying to work so I can get one of those) for a meal in the Castle. Well you get my drift...two a day, and then some...very reasonable.:thumbsup2

Same here. We took two a day in June and wore them all! The girls got hot, sweaty and dirty! DD3 only wore costumes at meals and for a little after. Except the Belle dress. She wore that for eight hours! It was her potty bribe.

Lisazoe - your work is absolutely exquisite! Your aurora is incredible!

aimeeg - I love your organization!

PS - Utah - I'm in  with the pink and brown dress you made Norah.

That is fantastic! I love color. I did the color wheel as one of my first projects in college. I have had it hanging ever since.

I am not afraid of color to say the least. We do not have any white walls in our house. The only white is the trim and the ceiling! Before I painted my art room aqua it was a sunflower orange. It was very bright and cheery. I chose blue this time around because I needed something peaceful.

When learning about hair color, I was introduced to the color wheel. Something in my head just clicked. It makes soooo much sense to use it in clothing design. You can make something more dramatic by using complimentary colors (opposites) or subdued just by using analog colors (right next to each other on the color wheel) . I need to dig mine out and have it handy when I'm choosing fabric! :3dglasses

By all means copy away!

When Hannah saw this dress she thanked me for her Nemo Seashell costume. She told me that she was going to wear it on the Nemo ride. Funny she does not even know about our next trip. She also would not wear her Tink costume today because that was for Disney World.
Actually, you SHOULD make a costume for each ride! :wizard:

((tempting!)) :rotfl2:

On our AK days we either go to a resort for dinner or head over to Downtown Disney. I'm hoping to run into some of you mamas with your kids dressed in their custom created best! :cutie:

Magic sizing is just that, sizing. It is more lightweight than starch. It is amazing to iron with, the wrinkles just dissapear and it looks as though you had them dry cleaned and pressed. I love to iron with it, it ,akes ironing go so quickly.

That is such a great feeling, every time I buy tickets or make and adr or pay some money on a trip I get that special pixie dust feeling!:wizard:

Heck, I  today just finding out that 2008 rates have been released! We already have our deposit down but I've been curious how much more our total will go up. Now to wait for AAA discounts.

I finished the babes Nemo dress. It is a little long but that's okay. The girls will being wearing them to Epcot in the morning. It will be a little chilly so I will most likely bring white cardigans for them.

They binding tape hints were great! Now that I know one side is wider my whole life has changed!!!

THanks Celery! I love the fabric too. I was so scared to sew with it because of the expense. It taught me to sew straight and finish my seems.

LisaZoe- You twirl skirts/dresses have off the charts TWIRL FACTOR (TF)

Has anyone used that E-6000 glue for the rhinestone Mickey head t-shirts? I was wondering if it would be just as good as the hot fix.
Thanks!!
