LisaZoe, those appliques would be gorgeous framed as artwork. I know my DD would flip if she had those princesses in her room. I bet grown up Disney afficionados would go crazy for them too. :yay:

Thanks. I have thought about making throw pillows. I might do that with my DD's tees when she outgrows them if they still look good. ;)

Woohoo! My sewing machine came home yesterday so I was able to start getting caught up. I got these done yesterday and was very pleased with the results... although I still have some problems getting the mouths to look right. Someone asked me to do the applique on panels she sent that will be used for corset style tops. It was kind of fun to be able to do just the applique. :)

You did the eyes and brows perfectly! I love that you got the spirit dots (the white area on the black part of the eye- giving the image "life") just right. And the lashes and brows are in perfect proportion. The lips are FINE! The multi color hair gives the illusion of texture. You really did a sweet job!
It has taken a week but I finally got my Art Studio back in shape! Boy was this a job. I took a ton of pics because I do not think it wil ever be this clean again!

I am an artist and I make 1940's vintage reproduction Christmas decorations. I have really taken to sewing as a great creative outlet. The best part is I do not have to make any money off of sewing so I feel no pressure.

I thought I would share how I have organized my art room. I am so glad I got all my sewing organized. I do not know why I never did before!

Here is my desks. Half is for the computer and the other was for paperwork. I ended up just putting piles of junk so it is now my sewing machines home. The desk legs and tops came from Ikea. Super cheap! I also bought the lamps, chairs and shelves there too. All of the glass jars hold my vintage craft supplies. (Pretty Storage)

I just quoted one of your pictures. Wow! You are so organized! I like that!!! My basement is still just framed in. But someday I'll have a Mom Cave to go to with everything in it's proper place! Right now I just have a make-shift sewing area in a corner of the kitchen (near the computer  )

I'm going to also do the mini bolt idea. I have my projects in 2 Gal. ziplock bags with the pattern and any notions along with the fabric. They hang for now in order. I don't have more than 2 projects at a time. Not in the space I'm in.

OCD is a good thing!!!

Mom Cave- Simply Brilliant!!!

We live in a condo. We own it and it the size of a town house but . . . sometimes it feels like a box! When we move I so want a house with a walk out basement. Then I will have a really great Studio oh wait . . . Mom cave!

The mini bolts are great. I know I buy fabric because I have great ideas in the store but when I get home things always get busy and ideas fade away. This way everything is organized and I can see it. I had the pink baskets filled with other supplies but I do not think I used any of it since I put them in the baskets!

It is SO SO simple! I purchased a bejeweler tool at Michaels (about $10 regular price - used a 40% off coupon). This is what the tool looks like outside of the box that it came in. You can see that it came with several different tips (in the clear ziploc bag) to accommodate different sized crystals. For this project, I used 5 mm crystals.

For this shirt all I did was take the pattern that was posted several pages back (sorry, I'm having a hard time locating it right now), print it out to the size that I wanted it on the tee. I attached it to a piece of cardboard and cut the mickey shape out. Then I put a little bit of adhesive on the back of the cardboard (just enough to stick it down for a short amount of time, but so that it wouldn't slip around) and put it on the shirt where I wanted the design to be. Following the directions included with the stones, I "traced" the mickey head with the rhinestones.

There are times listed in the rhinestones. I just sorta played with it until I felt like they were stuck. I ended up heating each stone for five seconds on to the shirt, and it worked well.

This is a source that I found for rhinestones that seems to have great prices.

This is wonderful! I have been wanting to get the candy cane tool, does this one from Michaels work just as well?

Ilana's Nemo jumper for Epcot, this isn't quite done either. I was thinking of adding some ribbons to the bottom?

I JUST saw some Nemo Quilt binding that may be cool for that???? (At Hancock)

I finished the babes Nemo dress. It is a little long but that's okay. The girls will being wearing them to Epcot in the morning. It will be a little chilly so I will most likely bring white cardigans for them.

They binding tape hints were great! Now that I know one side is wider my whole life has changed!!!

aimeeg I just noticed the color wheel on your wall and it reminded me of the thing I found a few weeks ago. If I could remember where I found it I would give them credit...but here it is....

Think Yellow and you get happiness, cheerfulness and peacefulness. Yellow is energetic…yellow is active…yellow is intellectual.

Think Orange and you get joy, fascination and creativity. Orange is enthusiastic…orange is determined…orange is encouraging.

Think Red and you get passion, desire and love. Red is powerful…red is sexy…red is emotional.

Think Purple and you get nobility, romance and nostalgia. Purple is feminine…purple is extravagant…purple is magical.

Think Blue and you get trust, loyalty and purity. Blue is clean…blue is contemplating…blue is honest.

Think Green and you get earth, life and order. Green is natural…green is earth-conscious…green is harmonious.

Think COLOR and you get a stimulating and creative environment!!

Sorry the yellow is hard to read.

There's the Nemo quilt binding!

Ohhhh, I like the Nemo dresses! For CUTE! I have that fabric waiting for me and I think I'll do something similar...Like a big copy cat! I want that to be my dd's Epcot Future-World-day dress because of Turtle Talk and our dinner at Coral Reef. Purrrrrrfect!

OOOOOHHH!!! Those are to die for!

Great job on all the outfits! I love this Cinderella one!

That is fantastic! I love color. I did the color wheel as one of my first projects in college. I have had it hanging ever since.

I am not afraid of color to say the least. We do not have any white walls in our house. The only white is the trim and the ceiling! Before I painted my art room aqua it was a sunflower orange. It was very bright and cheery. I chose blue this time around because I needed something peaceful.

By all means copy away!

When Hannah saw this dress she thanked me for her Nemo Seashell costume. She told me that she was going to wear it on the Nemo ride. Funny she does not even know about our next trip. She also would not wear her Tink costume today because that was for Disney World.

Our Walmart is suppose to be opening up today!!!! Heather, Mom and I are planning a trip on over there. Anyone else heading to Three Rivers today??? :cool1: They weren't going to have fabric department, but there were so many complaints, I hear they put one in! If they don't have one, you will all hear about it!!! There was a big fuss here about putting the Walmart in to begin with, and I talked it up as much as I could. And, I can tell you why in ONE word, can you guess what it is?? Yes, FABRIC!!!!

I am so excited, I can hardly stand it!

He was with Eastern? He is lucky he got out and found another job with Continental. It use to be if you worked for an airline, you were set for life. Not anymore. I'm still happy dh still has a job while I am adding on to my nurses degree. He said he was going to retire when I graduate and become a stay at home dad. Yeah right. :lmao:

Same with pay - used to be that pilots made big bucks - not so much anymore.

I keep forgetting to do that! Whoever suggested that idea is brilliant! Right now I have two piles: fabric I have an idea for and fabric that I bought just because ?

Hey that is simply awesome! When are you going? We are not leaving until January, but I would love to buy now!!!!

We leave Nov 30 and wanted to get tickets before the price went up! I've never bought tickets before so it was scary dropping over $1000 at the Disney Store... although, strangely enough it wasn't too scary!

That dress is beautiful! I'm still making plain pillowcase dresses with a ruffle on the bottom. I'm going to start making some like these with accents. Of course, I have to copy because I just can't come up with any ideas on my own yet.

I just realized something... I have breaks/naps planned in the middle of our park days, so I guess that means the girls can change clothes before heading back to the parks!!!!!!!!!!!!!! So it's ok to make two outfits for each park, right?:cool1:  :yay: Well, except AK, since they will close at 5:00, we're just gonna stay all day. But, we should have a backup outfit in case they spill something! ;)

Here are the jean capri's I finished tonight. They are completely CASEd. I bought the capri's at JC Penny for $9.99. They only come in 4-6 so the baby is getting a skirt. They were super quick and easy. Pretty cute too. :cutie:

Yeah!!!
I finally made something that someone liked enough to copy!! :dance3:
:yay: Looks great!
