Anyone know where I can get some small (1/2") Mickey shaped buttons?

Thought they would be cute on my guy's shirts...

Not sure if this has been answered or not, I've been off the board for a week now.

There are MM buttons in the Scrapbook section of JoAnns. I think they have adhesive backs but you can remove that and the thread and there are your buttons :)

Hey MickeyFan!

Love the fabric with the Christian Fish. I just noticed it!
Where did you get it? I don't know if you put the rhinestone on yet but I probably would not! It looks great the way it is!!!

Can anyone venture a guess as to what sewing tool this is and what it's used for?

It looks like a mini-rotary cutter, except it has somewhat sharp points instead of a smooth "blade". It doesn't look like the blade can be changed. The blade is about 1/2".

I'm sure it's at least 30 years old, and has a red handle and the brand is Heart.

TIA!
Lisa
That tool would be a pattern tracing wheel. one would put tracing paper in between the fabric pieces after they were cut out and then you would run the wheel over the pattern markings you wished to trace onto the fabric. I threw mine out when I discovered the disappearing ink marking pen!!!! The tracing paper marking NEVER seemed to come out and I disliked using tailor's chalk because the chalk would come off before I wanted it to!!LOL

Ok all you talented ladies, I need idea help. I have custom overalls---princess themed for when we do DTD and the BBB for DD4. She will be changing into a Cinderella dress for 1900 Park Fare that night. I needto come up with some type of otfit for DS1. I want them to match every day. I was thinking a shirt saying I'm your Price Chrming or something like that but I want it to be boutique"y" so I need some ideas. HELP!

any ideas:confused3 I know you all are so talented--put those thinking caps on!

How about a prince charming style outfit. I found an auction you can copy, but I can't post the pic or link here. Search custom prince charming suit in ebay STORES. Just an idea

Everyday, I'm feeling better and better. I almost feel like the dancing banana...:rotfl:
Have you noticed that the tag fairy doesn't come to visit us on the sewing board?:confused3 What gives?
This should be my tag....Would cruise naked if I had to...:rotfl:
Or how about " Eats dry cereal out of a coffee mug" :rotfl:
"Drinks Dr. Pepper for breakfast"
See, there is lots to know about a girl...LOL

:rotfl:

I know this was quite a few pages back but I thought it was too funny!!

BTW, I've been waiting for the tag fairy to visit me since...what...1999?!?!?!

I APPLIQUED!! :cheer2: :sulley:

It's not great, but I'm going to post a picture anyway. This is the first time I've tried to applique. I was pretty pleased that it wasn't as hard as I thought it would be. I think it looked better before I tried to go around Nemo. Black thread would have looked better, too. But, it was a learning experience. The model is my incredibly sweet 1 year old son, Sawyer.

Sawyer is a doll! Your applique looks great! Nice smooth satin stitch, way to go!

AHA!!! I knew that b&w fabric looked familiar- It was a bed sheet wasn't it? Or it's the same as a disney bedding set... I'm all for repurposing sheets. I think that was clever.
...t.
Yep, you are right! AliKat99 saw it on Disneyshopping.com and bought a set she thought it would be cute doing something with the Red Minnie Dot fabric combination. I brought the fabric home after a visit to FL and pulled out fabrics from my stash that were Mickey colors and it sort of took off from there.

OT - but still a sewing question...

Anyone know where I can get free patterns for doll clothes? Someone just gave DS a boy Cabbage Patch Kid, but he's nekkid!!!

He was really stinky (was from a smoking home...yuck) so I threw him in a pillowcase and washed him. So, he's much better to be around now. LOL But we need something for him to wear ASAP!!

The searches I did only yielded barbie/action figure patterns - and, obviously, those won't fit a CP Kid.

Thanks for any help you can give me!

I'll even make him a Disney outfit, IF I can find a pattern for pants and a top!

Butterick has Cabbage Patch kids patterns. Joanns often has them on sale for .99/1.99 (not free but close). Butterick 4045 has boys pants/shirts, 3745 has a sports jersey, 5902 has overalls.

She wore it today to Church, I haven't added the rhinestone. I got the fabric a long time ago (3 years +ish) I can't remember where I got it from, I think it may have been this sewing store in a City that is near me, I can't remember the name of that store either  I remember they have expensive fabric though! I may have to have DH bring me there to check it out again!! I have it in Green as well, but I only got 1/2 a yard of each color, now the purple is gone:guilty: But I do like the way it turned out. When I go to that fabric shop I will let you know if I see it, but it has been so long ago! :goodvibes jen

I've never seen fabric like that! They usually don't have a huge christian section of fabric!LOL!! It would be nice to see more! Hey I see we'll be at Disney the same time!!! I will keep my eye out for a
fellow Disney Board member!!! Halloween is a great time to go!!

You are the second, or third person that has told me you are going to be in Disney the same time! I am smelling a DISboard Custom Clothing meet! Anyone else going Oct 29- Nov 2nd?? It's a lot of fun meeting people off the board! I think a meet is in order!! :goodvibes jen

Gosh...I hope I don't have to wait that long...I saw the tag fairy visited another board and tagged everyone for like 2 pages, I tried to jump on the bandwagon, but wasn't quick enough.
So instead of looking to see if I finally got tagged, I decided to post a picture of my (in my dreams) sweetie!

I did not see any Green mickey heads (What is the green head thing?):confused3

Are you asking what's up with the green Mickey heads? I hope I didn't misinterpret your question. If I did, disregard my drawn out answer! The official color of the disboards is lime green. That's how we recognize each other at the parks. Home Depot has lime green (I think it's called alien green or something) Disney paint chip samples that are shaped like Mickey heads. People have been getting these, laminating them and wearing them somewhere on their person at the parks. If you see another Diser, you're supposed to do what Al Pacino is doing in Jen "Mickeyfan"'s signature, then point at the Diser you see. Great fun! :rotfl:

Thanks for clearing this up!!! I haven't been a member of the DISboards long, but knew there was something to know about lime green Mickey ears!
But what does Al Pacino have to do with it?? :confused3 Is that a picture of him doing the "I see you" thing with his fingers??!!

I guess Al Pacino doesn't have much to do with it. :rotfl2: He does this thing in "Meet the Fockers" where he points to his eyes with his first and middle finger, then points with his pointer finger at someone. It was decided this was the official Diser greeting. I just love this place! :grouphug:

I've got a question, though. What is the "tag fairy"?

In honor of your question, I have updated my signature! Behold- the lime green Mickey head family.

The guy is actually Robert DeNiro :goodvibes I gave the "finger point" a LOT during my last trip :cloud9:
The tag fairy is someone that puts different color sayings under your DIS name. cute quotes, or something funny you may have said.:goodvibes
