lil_ragamuffins & LadyRob - Thanks for your help with finding the Halter Top instructions.

Yeah, I'm gonna have to start leaving a postit next to the monitor of which page I left off on.

If you haven't found them yet, I found these Disney fabric squares (8.5") w. classic dis scenes there are 15 diff. designs but they come only 1 in a pkg. I think they were originally 9$ and change and I found them clearanced, in the craft section, down to 3$

Thought they might fuel some of your creative juices!!

2 questions:

1. What haven't you found yet?
2. Where did you see the squares? Those would be cute on a jacket back, overall bib, or in an autograph book.

Sorry I was typing w/ a toddler in my lap. She was beating me w/ a pair of knitting needles...

1. By "If you haven't found..." I was refering to these squares, I tend to post things everyone already knows:rolleyes1

2. I meant to say they were at Walmart in the craft section. I also found those scrap book Mickey icon button/stickers everyone loves but not clearanced:sad2:

In the scrap book section they also had an embroidered mickey mouse "sticker" that would be great for some mickey overalls.

...t.

Thanks! Looks like another trip to wally world :lmao:.

HELP!!!! Can someone point me to the directions for a triangular halter top? Do I need to make it like a pillowcase dress or is there a better way? I had an epiphany on an outfit !!!

Thanks

Jen

you know hawaiian themed w/ mickey is hard to find. Here is an outfit I pulled out of the suitcase to take a picture for you. I made this for the lilo and stitch breakfast at the Poly. We have the breakfast next friday! My oldest (6) has a tutu skirt set, but she is almost just too h\old for that stly. but you could do a fun shorts set with this fabric. it is easy to find right now.

Wow...I sure have missed a lot by not keeping up these past two weeks! So many pages to sift through and so little time!

I really like this outfit! Sometimes I actually like the non-Disney fabrics better in the outfits. Very cute...heck, I'd even wear this! LOL! :rotfl:

My DD has been sick for the last two days :( but, that meant she slept a lot, so I got a chance to finish my patchwork twirl skirt.

She's still not feeling up-to-snuff, so the pictures aren't fantastic (she refused to twirl, although after a while I noticed she was swishing her hips as she walked to make the skirt flounce. It was pretty funny.)

This skirt was definitely a learning experience...but I'm happy with the way it turned out (I love Classic Pooh, and we're going to breakfast at CP). I have a feeling the next one will go more smoothly!

Very pretty...and a nice change from all things Mickey. I just love the soft colors...it really is very striking. ;)

<Ahem> It's already been created....:rolleyes1

Someone please send me an invite! Yikes...I go away for two weeks and it seems like all heck broke loose.

Seriously though...some of those Ebay folks just have nothing better to do than police other folks listings. I only wish I had that kind of free time. Then again if I did, I have so many other things I'd rather be doing. Miserable people are everywhere...very sad. :sad1:

The name of this fabric is by Alexander Henry "Smiles around the world"

I have seen it on Ebay. I have not had any luck around here though.

Hope this helps!

Hi ladies :flower3:, Here is my Snow White set. I had alot of fun making this one and it looks great on Destiny. I love the halter style top on her. I added the skirt but I'm not to crazy about it. Let me know what you think.

Ohhh I love your Snow White Outfit LadyRob! It is just beautiful!!! How in the world did you do the face??? After looking at yours I am not sure I should post my Piglet pictures....I really had a hard time doing the face on my Piglet. Anyway...you did an awesome job! I love the skirt too. Did you use a pattern for the halter shirt...I wanna learn how to make an eady halter shirt.

UPDATE - okay so I read further and saw that you used that panel for the top...VERY cool. You ROCK!!!!! Ohhh and I have to say that your DD is just a doll, a real cutie! Thanks for posting the pictures!!!

Thanks...unfortunately what I had done, is on the back of my leg, so sitting is a little owwwwieeee....LOL

Feel better Lisa! Hope you have a speedy recovery!

On a side note...just wanted to thank you again for the outfit you did for my not so little daughter! She has worn it so much already that I'm afraid it will be worn out by the time we go to Disney in September! ;) Your the best-don't let those Ebay jerks get to you!

Before I go to bed I wanted to show the outfit I made DD last year, and then she wore it again this year. She has worn it plenty of times inbetween :) Also the shirt my DS is wearing I made for him last year, it's all appliqued. No special shirt this year :sad2: I made myself a skirt to match DD (last year) I got a lot more comments on it this year over last.

I love your outfits! I think its pretty cool that you made yourself a skirt too. Definitely something I'd do. Now I don't feel like I'm alone! :rotfl:

I made this for my son yesterday
IMG_4847.jpg

I bought the purple fabric for DD and then when I went back a couple months later they had the coordinating Fabric so I got some of that yesterday.

I got the BUzz fabric at Hobby Lobby and I am going to make another romper for my son
IMG_4852.jpg

JoAnn's had this adorable Mickey halloween print so I am going to make trick-or-treat bags for the kids out of it. Along with the Boo fabric. I wish we were going to the MNSSHP.
IMG_4851.jpg

I bought the swirly Mickey fabric at Joann's a couple months ago. So yesterday I went back to find another fabric to pair it with and tone down the bright green and they had this matching teal green with the Disney fabrics. They match perfectly. They had lots of solid colors to coordinate and they had some of that really big polka dot stuff with Mickey and Minnie.

Lots of Sewing projects but I have to do housework because I am hosting a scrapbooking party tomorrow.

Love all the recent outfits! I don't have enough time to go back and respond directly.

I guess not all Joanns are created equal. I made the trip the one that was listed as being the closest to me (didn't even know they were near me)...but I was terribly disappointed with their selection. I was so excited, then so deflated. Guess I have to keep looking around for some good places nearby for the kids fabrics. I'm jealous of you all that have such great places in your area. I love that Mickey swirl fabric. I bought some about 2 or 3 weeks ago online (Ebay) but the background is yellow. One day instead of shopping for my fabric stockpile, I'll actually get to some of this sewing that I'm meaning to do.

Rather, GUESS WHAT I JUST MADE?!?!?!?!?

I SEWED SHORTS !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :cool1: :cool1: :cool1: :cool1:
And it only took me 5 hours!!! :lmao:

This is the first thing I have ever sewn to wear. DD is wearing them now!! They are okay, I will certainly let her out of the house in them!!

OMG!!! After all the problems I had on Friday, I was half way tempted to toss the sewing machine out the window and return all of my fabric!!!!

I did have to use my seam ripper twice...;)

Thanks ladies for your encouragement and telling me not to give up! Sometimes that's all we need.

I still need more practice before I start using my good Disney fabric! I'd like to be able to sew something without using the seam ripper!!

I guess it's a good thing that I am starting this early for our December trip!!

OT - but still a sewing question...

Anyone know where I can get free patterns for doll clothes? Someone just gave DS a boy Cabbage Patch Kid, but he's nekkid!!!

He was really stinky (was from a smoking home...yuck) so I threw him in a pillowcase and washed him. So, he's much better to be around now. LOL But we need something for him to wear ASAP!!

The searches I did only yielded barbie/action figure patterns - and, obviously, those won't fit a CP Kid.

Thanks for any help you can give me!

I'll even make him a Disney outfit, IF I can find a pattern for pants and a top!

Have you tried "floating" a second piece of stablizer under the hoop in addition to the stablizer/garment in the hoop? For knits I use a heavy iron on cutaway (Decobond) and then again as the "floating" piece with the iron on side up(so I can iron it on after I am done. I also "grade" the stablizer layers for a better look.

Thank you, I'll have to give this a try. Now that I think about it, it seems liket he knit is when I have the most trouble.

Feel better Lisa! Hope you have a speedy recovery!

Hi...Thanks for the kind words. I am feeling better. Just a little sore still.
Which outfit did I make for you? I'm a little short brained right now...LOL
