wish I could help with this. I got my sewing machine at the viking center inside joannes. I would say go with the machine that has the best easy to use report. and if you plan to applique make sure it has a zig zag stitch. Go with the best reveiwed for the price.

I was walking through Joanns yesterday and dd8 yelled at me "Mom, this has Jack Sparrow on it!!" He kinda looks like him and she was so excited and had to have some! I don't know what I'm going to do with it, but I knew I'd regret it if I didn't buy some. I also bought the red to coordinate with it, does it look ok with it? This might have been posted already, but I didn't remember seeing any of it.

I saw those too there and it took all my might to walk out without it! I think they look great together!

Traveln Gal, I love both your Mickey shirts! They are adorable and your boy will get lots of oohs and aahs at the park. Are you working on the one for DH now? Make sure you post a photo of the shirts together.

I saw a top and jeans with this fabric on e-bay recently. Search cpt. jack sparrow custom boutique. It even used the same coordinating fabric. I would have bid but it's the wrong size.

I think I would spend a little more to get either the second or third machine. I don't have one of these machines though. I have a Singer and it does some of the decorative stitching and I really like it.

Hope this helps.

:sad1: I guess nobody liked my little boy's Mickey outfit

Maybe this is better...

I got DS's shirt done - just need to buy buttons and do those blasted button holes. I have never done a collar before and I forgot just how blasted hard sleeves are! You gals who have girls to sew for have it easy! LOL

I think I missed the pic of your other Mickey outfit, but I think this turned out really cute. Yay!!! My idea got used! :)

I am sorry to hear about how hard it was though. My DS really wants a "camp shirt"... I'm worried it's outside my skill level though.

YEAH!!!:yay: It's so cute on her! I can't believe you got that already. Did my mailman personally deliver it? It's a wonderful match. When my DD had it on she was twisting her wrist making it jingle. I have to make my DD an outfit to match hers now. I'm so glad you like it!

We love it!! You did a great job. DD had it on all afternoon. :cloud9:

I Love the shirt.. great job!!

This is so not related to clothes, so don't mind me...
I am hooked on reborn dolls. I own one, but I let my girls play with it. But can you believe that this photo is of a doll? Unbelieveable....

What do you all think of this dress? Too traditional?

Okay, mind you it's just the opinion of a lurker but I'm going to vote too traditional...I absolutely LOVE your work and part of the appeal is the funky twist it has.:hippie: I like that you tend to do Disney w/out actually looking like a character...this looks more character...Does that make sense.....

This reminds me too much a a traditional minnie "costume". If you could break it up somehow and make it a little more funky in some way I think I'd like that.....Of course for a "costume" it's a little more original...Does that make sense???? I hope so.....
No matter I'm sure if your doing making it, it will be fabulous.....just my $.02

Hi there!
We are going to Disney at the end of October and I am looking to have some customs made, but I'm not too sure about the weather and if I should go with pants/capris or short/long sleeves? What would you do? Maybe something that could be layered?

Thanks!! Amy

It's still pretty hot then. You might be okay with capri's, but i doubt you'd need long sleeves.

I have the second one you listed and I really like it - VERY easy to use - 1 step button hole, zig-zag/satin stitch, etc. It sews really well - even through multiple layers of denim! FWIW, I also have a $400 Husquvarna from JoAnn's that I hardly ever use anymore. I like it a lot, too, but I just use the Brother more.

Hope this helps - and have fun with your new machine!

Try searching "mouse clips bow" in the eBay stores. There is a pair up now, and as far as I can tell, these are a little less expensive than the ones that were posted on here. Both sets are cute... :)

anyone with a size 12m girl. ther is a resell on ebay that is only $10 right now and it is super cute. search terms are Bug n Belle Minnie Resell

thanks

I'm watching this one to put away for my daughter's 1st bday trip in april....The pic shows short sleeve but the auction is actuall for a long sleeve shirt....

Can anyone tell me is it possible to shorten a sleeve w/out ruining the look of this outfit???thanks

Just jumped on to catch up...

Great job Robin on the shirt for DS. Great idea for boys/men.

LadyRob--wonderful Belle outfit! Can you PM me your instructions for applique and any tricks you have learned along the way?? Eyes seem to be a tough one!

CastleCreations--you have talent! Great job

ObsessedwiththeMouse--Love the Pooh outfit--the Ariel outfit is going to be my first try at applique.

Sorry if I missed anyone--there is so much talent on this thread, it's hard to keep up. You all have very lucky children!

Have a great weekend!

Blakely

My machine is a brother,so I lean that way. The Brother that sells for 106 has stitch width and length control. This is SUPER important for applique. The other Brother didn't have it nor did the Singer. SO,I would buy the:

Now, I finally made a tutu for my daughter. It is too big in the waist, so I will have to take it up, but I love this! My arm is tired from all of the tying! I just bought 40 yards of white to make for our beach photos! Yeah, something girly that DD likes!!!!

Too cute!! But, you know what would really set that outfit off perfectly is some hair bows!! ;)

Your dress is beautiful. I'd love to sew if I could do that too! It also looks like you got the Best-Dressed award that day too if you look at what your guests are wearing. I remember when those gas-station jumpsuits were in style and the matching pumps too, I'm sorry to say. The eighties, right? Hopefully.

How did I miss this post!!????? Yep, thankfully, it was the 80s!!!!

i am new to this and am wondering where everyone buys their disney fabric. the outfits are soooo adorable, i wish my daughter was still little, now 13. doess anyone make disney theme clothing for themselves or teenage daughter?

I'm working on that! My DD is 13 and then the rest are boys, so she's the only one I can get a bit frilly with and that's debatable but she is definitely game to wear Disney stuff at Disney that she wouldn't be caught dead in here at home. :lmao:

This thread is *really, really* dangerous though for the pocketbook. I went to Wal-Mart today because I was looking for some fabric that wasn't even Disney. I have absolutely loved the pink fabric with Mickey & his signature. I've seen it here with black & also made into a dress. I loved it so much that I just bought the entire bolt of it! I have absolutely no idea what I'm going to do with it yet but I figured that way I could make something for myself & DD. We are thinking of putting it with a gold & black somehow.

My problem is I keep buying fabric and not really doing a lot of sewing, we have a while before we go back to Disney though.
