I know there are lots of posts about this and I've read through a lot of them but just to clarify (mainly for my husband ) who thinks because these credits aren't noted as "kids cs credits" on our KTTW and are just shown as 64 cs credits (16 nights for 2Ad/2Ch), he thinks we can order 4Ad cs meals.

I'm correct in saying that just because the system doesn't separate them, the CM's and our KTTW does. In other words, you can only ever order 2Ad/2Ch cs meals at any one time because there is only 2Ad in our party.

Thank you :goodvibes

YOU are correct. You can't order more adult or child meals than what your KTTW card states. We ended up with 3 adult credits left and had to stand in two separate lines to use up those credits at the end of our last trip.

I thought so, will have to keep a track of them in case that happens to us as we are going to be out of the Disney parks for about 6 days (using the Orlando FlexTicket). Thank you :)

The computer does not keep track of adult versus child credits.
The rule is, that children can only use credits for children's meal, except for the few CS locations that don't have children's menu.

This rule is enforced by: The 2A/2C -- So that CMs know only to serve 2 adult meals at a time.
And it's enforced by a simple honor code.

Please don't post about going around the rule, even if a CM told you so. It's the Restaurant Board's policy to stick to Disney's rule.

Mods - I don't understand your posting :confused3 Who has quoted what a CM has said and how to bend the rules?? People have just clarified how cs credits are used. My husband thought you just ordered 4 adult meals  No-one has asked for any cheats, I certainly couldn't do that :goodvibes

Mods will usually delete any posts that talk about getting around WDW rules. Nala probably deleted that post, before you came back to read the thread.

That post was deleted. Not stating the OP did anything about that question. You're all right, I should note when I delete a post...

Correct.

It's enforced at the point of sale by the CM's (and, ultimately, by the honor code).

I wonder if/when Disney will make a change to this so the system can keep track, rather than making the CM's do it. I've never understood why they would program the TS system to recognize the difference, but not the CS systems.

Because there are still some CS restaurants with no children's menu.

Right, but you can still program the difference...and allow an override in those locations.

Alternately (and probably more effective), you just offer duplicate buttons in those establishements that SAY "kids blah blah", when they're actually duplicates of the adult items on the POS system. No difference (price or offering) other than which button the CM pushes. In terms of inventory control...you just bucket them to the same places.

I've done similar stuff (though I'm not in retail, so it's not in POS) before (I'm an IT guy, FYI).

And it solves any problems arising from human enforcement/errors.

The reasoning behind it would be that it's not worth the resource/training investment, I guess...but, from my experience, it's a relatively easy change on the programming and DB side of things (so it doesn't seem like it would be much in the way of resources, there). Sure, there's opportunity for error on the CM side...but the opportunity is probably greater, now.

They might change it at some point to crack down, just like they are testing systems to crack down on the mugs. But I can't imagine they lose much money in total on "cheaters." As I think it's pretty rare that people would try that hard to cheat the system, just to get a slightly larger CS meal. I'm sure it happens, but not enough to make that much of a difference.

Ok, I want to make certain that I have this correct. I will have 2 children (under 10) and one child (10) for whom I must pay for as an adult. However, my 10 yo is a pickier eater than the 7 yo so as long as we order only 2 children's meals it doesn't matter which 2 children eat them, right?

You will be allowed to order 2 kids, 2 adult meals (I would say 3 but you didn't mention another another) - they don't watch to see who eats what so if you want the kids meal, enjoy

They don't care who eats what, no matter what meal you're at (TS or CS), so long as you're using your credits the way they intend.

We OFTEN share the adult CS meals with the kids. There's WAY too many fries, for example, and we divy them up amongst the table (from my wifes and my meal).

At TS places, we often split the 2 adult desserts amongst the table, too.

If you order 2 (or 3) adult CS meals, and 2 kids CS meals...and give one of your kids an adult CS meal, and one of the adults eats a kids CS meal...nobody is going to say "boo" to you.

:)

Hi,

This is a genuine question I am *not* trying to cheat anything...

We are a party of 6 on the DDP, but the KTTW cards will be 2 x '2ad + 1 ch' as we are in separate rooms. What happens if we don't want to eat CS at the same time? Quite often our son will want his lunch at an earlier or later time than us, and quite often different type of food from another location! So is it ok for us to go in to a CS location and order 2 adult CS but no kids CS then at a different time or restaurant, just order the remaining kids CS? We would all be sat together in these instances.

Thanks in advance,
Rachel
