I have a GREAT reason you and Cynthia have to come to NYC.... I'll have to msg you both.

I have to book the Ritz. Haven't finalized the dessert party yet.

Ooh! I can't wait to hear

Hmmm......a Disney Cruise out of NY?

Another fun bout of insomnia......:headache: I swear it's PMS related.

Still can't decide if it's worth it to book that pre-vacation night? It leads to more moving which I don't love........

Insomnia sucks. Exercise followed by red wine seems to work incredibly well for me on that front. :rotfl:

You could always wait till you've actually booked the flight. Then again one night is easy to book and cancel if you don't need it. One thought...and yes this is me working the system is that IF you did this, you might want to add one night of quick serve dining plan for that one night at the value resort. You'd all get your refillable mugs.....

To me, if it's just a place to crash I don't really think of it as moving. It is but you can put everything for it in one carry-on and it's relatively painless. It does give you a full extra vacation day....and better to do it at the front than the end I'd think. If it were me and I was doing it, I'd probably let everyone sleep in if needed, check out the food court there since it will be the last one you probably see, hit the pool. Then check out and hit the grocery store. By the time you get over to THV it may actually be ready. Or you can be crazy like I was and leave the family sleeping while you run over and check in early in the morning in hopes that you get your room request. And then go back, wake them up and start the day:rotfl: Not sure that matters as much for DVC/THV but it worked like a charm for the YC!

Will you have a car though? For some reason I thought not....

I didnt work out but I walked. And took a half an Ativan.

I'm going to wait until I book our flights but if they stay anywhere near the same times, I will be booking that pre-night. I want to travel SW as we have the 50,000 miles. :thumbsup2 I think the earliest SW flight right now has us in at 7 pm. I started a thread in the DVC section and they are giving so many great and varied insights. What to do??

No car. I've debated but M really likes not having to drive and deal with that.

I do like your idea. Jenna will be there about 10 am so were already planning on the store, this way I could go with her instead of them driving us back at 9 at night. How much is the QSDP anyway? You've got it all covered.

I think the Quick Service Plan is $34.99 pp. Not cheap and potentially it's a wash but I figure you might save $5 pp if you were to be buying those meals anyway, potentially more depending on what you get of course. It gets you the mug, 2 counter service meals and one snack.

Jeff prefers not to drive as well. Heck for that matter, so do I!

I think I have to have a ticket package to add the QSDP though, rt? I'll look into it.

The best SW flight has us landing at 5:50. Hmmm....... The Nemo Buiding at AoA looks cool. $330. I swear Disney has ruined me because my first thought was: that's not that expensive. :rotfl2:

Oh right, there is that! Since you have your YES tickets, it probably wouldn't work, although I'd have no idea how that works so might be worth a call. You never know, there well could be a fall discount you could apply to it if they release something.

I hear you on the price DE sensitivity. My mind goes...well...if I had to do TWO rooms at a value or a mod (which as a family of 5, you would)...it's not THAT much more...

:lmao: Totally. Guess I should price out two values now that you mention it. I've always wanted a night at Pop.

I really need to plan this bat mitzvah. Chloe is also focused on the trip too. She's studying and doing well but such a different egg than Gab was regarding this. Gab had an opinion on everything from bagel type to flower colors. Chloe just says: eh, whatever.

Ahhh I would totally do a Disney cruise from NYC.

I hope you don't have insomnia tonight.

BOOK IT BOOK IT BOOK IT. It's not a real move since you don't have to unpack. Fuzzy Disney Split Stays.

:tink: 26 days until ADRs!!! :tink:

:figment: 206 days until WDW!!! :figment:

Ohhh a night at AoA will be fantastic. And I'm all about getting in a night early.

I know!!!! I'm so leaning towards it. I started a thread on the DVC section for opinions and am getting great ideas, some for, some against.

My flight from MCO to SLC went down $125 pp but would require 2 stops. :faint: And it's Continental who I hate with every fiber in my being however, I have a $200 credit in M's name and a generic $100 credit from the LaGuardia fiasco last Spring. :surfweb:

:rotfl2: :rotfl: :lmao: I love fuzzy Disney split stays. That's some funny shiznit right there. :thumbsup2

I slept, thanks. :happytv:

I DC from NY sounds magical. I'm seriously all about next Spring!!! We've got a one year bat/bar mitzvah break. Joshua's isn't until 2014. :cloud9:

We had 1 night at POP booked a few years ago for exactly this reason but then my in laws dates changed, we already had our tickets and had to do some major resort tweaking based on availability. All of a sudden the 1 night became 3 and we decided we couldn't handle POP and double beds...for 3 nights. With a PIN code we ended up with 2 rooms at WL for about the same price as the AoA rack rate! It did put us in a 3 move situation which was a drag but without the IL's sharing the cost we just couldn't swing 3 more nights for 2 rooms at the YC on our own, even with a PIN code.

A few years back we did 1 night at ASMusic for the same reason and it really was great. We didn't use the pools or even the food court but after our red eye, magically our room was ready so we checked in and took a nap! It ended up giving us a whole extra park day, we woke up refreshed and hit the parks, when we'd been expecting to maybe be waiting by the pool for our room and then going straight to bed. It really was magical.

That must be nice actually!

Evan finds it incredibly unfair that he can't have something comparable to a bar mitzvah.

You're brilliant. I need to find me a PIN code. :thumbsup2 I get for Disneyland literally every other week, it's insane but rarely for WDW.

You are so convincing me to book the day before. Ironically that Saturday has a ton more early landing options. :rotfl2: We get our last park day back though by flying in a day early because we weren't do the parks on travel day. Jenna and I have been working on first real day details all day. She also scored a boardwalk view today. :thumbsup2 I'm envious. Those look great!

It really is a nice service and learning experience, thank you. :goodvibes Gabby jumped right in as an adult jew and started teaching religious school. I don't imagine Chloe will want to do the same. ;)

I hear you, I used to get them all the time for WDW and it's totally dried up in the last 2 years. I still get them for DLR. Bugs me!

Very jealous of the boardwalk view!

And somehow I am 100% sure that is NOT the reason Evan is jealous.

He wants a party that's all about HIM. Or at least that's how he sees it in his 12 year old selfish cluelessness. Although to be fair, he'd gladly do the service and learning, he's a huge participant in his own youth group, but it still would all be about the party.

Try ordering one of the planning DVD's. I think sometimes they will send you a PIN code cause they know you are interested in taking a trip.

That's awesome that Gab is teaching now!! Good for her!!:thumbsup2

And yes, I was doubting my choice of switching to Boardwalk View but you convinced me otherwise!:worship::goodvibes

Very jealous of the boardwalk view!

I was so surprised to see they had it available. I told Jenny that I was worried about the noise & lack of privacy. She reminded me of my three kids...lots of noise & no privacy what-so-ever!! :lmao::rotfl2:

I think I need to go in and save a mega trip to WDW not just a night at AoA. :rotfl2: They probably think, this chick isn't getting anything for us for one measly night. Show us the money!

Gabby didn't do the big party. We did a beautiful luncheon after and dinner that night. She chose a trip to CA with me and her BFF. She's not her BFF anymore however. :sad1: Chloe is much smarter. ;) She's choosing a family trip and bringing a friend. :thumbsup2

I'm so envious of you BW view. :cloud9: I told M last ight and he asked why we aren't staying at an Epcot resort? I told him because we let the kids, specifically Chloe, choose the resorts. Now he wants to have a say. :rolleyes1

:tink: 25 days until ADRs!!! :tink:

:figment: 205 days until WDW!!! :figment:

I really need to get my ADRs in order. Now that we may fly in a day early and have that entire Sunday to play, I need to either add an ADR or add a villa meal.

BW view sounds AMAZING!

You need a WDW PIN and I need a DL PIN. :lmao: But I doubt that there will be any DL discounts Christmas week.

Did you create custom maps on the WDW site yet?\

Has Disney released the MNSSHP dates yet?

I thought you were doing the GCV? Or are you doing the GCH?

They haven't but Touring Plans has pretty good guesstimations on all of that. That's what I'm using to plan now.

I did maps for our 2009 trip. Maybe I'll do the custom ones for this trip. And score a PIN. Did you make them?

How's August coming? DC?

We're doing GCH. We still have to decide if we're doing 4 nights or 5 nights.
Airfare from NYC to LAX is going to run us about $600 pp r/t. That's going to be the killer. We're not planning on renting a car. We figured we would take a shuttle from LAX and not have to deal with a car and So.Cal. traffic.

I need to find MNSSHP dates. I'm trying to figure out with weekend in October works.

I haven't made maps yet. I'm going to do that soon.

August is coming along s...l...o...w...l...y. I booked flights from NYC to DC. I just need to book the Ritz.
