DO IT DO IT DO IT DO IT!

You don't! You really really don't!

I agree, all of the above. It has been far too long since I've been to the city.

Spa week huh? :rotfl:

I'm at WL for at least part of my dates. Just sayin'...

Total peer pressure. All the cool kids are doing it Gussy!

:rotfl:

We are looking at the 18th or 19th I think. Whichever one MNSSHP ends up not being on. I think it's the 18th based on recent park hours but they haven't officially released dates yet.

I share your concern. I'm worried it's too many ADR's for the number of nights we have, I'd been thinking BD for lunch (though it's a rather large lunch) but liked Mary Ellens idea of doing it at park closing and walking out to an empty DHS after. It's funny, when I was at F&W in 2004 we ate there almost every night and I don't recall being broke, or starving. It gives us 2 nights at F&W and almost all the lunches if we want, question is if that's the right mix or not.

I think that's probably a good thing actually. As you are with the whole fam, you'll want time away from the crowds and you've got great spots for that. Not to mention that the points are high and availability scarce at 7 mo during your dates! You are getting way more for your points with the choices you made that suits a family better (I think).

I can vouch for the fact that Rosie truly thought it had something to do with the Sabbath (as I read the post) and was asking the question because she didn't know what the repair man meant and was confused. Heck I was confused reading it, but that's Rosie! She doesn't have a mean bone in her body and would be horrified that it might have been taken that way. I honestly don't think it ever occurred to her, and while it probably should have, I'd like to believe it didn't. If that is what he meant, I'm sickened beyond belief.

Thanks Cynthia and Cherie for the explanations. I think maybe it was just worded insensitively. Jews and ovens don't generally make a good joke. FWIW, no hard feelings. It's all about educating each other on all levels. Not everyone is sensitive or even knows a slur when they hear one and could be passing it off innocently. :goodvibes

Signing on! Can't wait to hear about your Oct trip! We are going in October of next year, and I can't wait to hear about all your plans. It will help me plan!

:welcome: Paula! Glad to have you. When in October are you going? This is our first F&W and we're beyond excited! :woohoo:

No more religious talk or thing is going to get shut down. ;)

Cynthia, I think MNSSHP is on the 18th. I peeked at Touring Plans. :rolleyes1 hope we also get a DVC discount.

I am really looking forward to both resorts. We loved AKV but stayed in Jambo so this will be new and heck, it will be our first trip home so THV is a must. I am planning on 40 min for travel times to be safe when making my ADRs and plans. Overkill?

:wave2: Hello all! Apparently I had posted on this thread once before. I hadn't been on the DIS in forever, but was looking at a thread on the Y.E.S. program. I got an e-mail that there was an update in a thread I was subscribed to....this one!:upsidedow:rotfl::cool1:

So now I can follow along, but with sooooo many pages :lmao: to read, I'll just start from here. You all can fill me in on the important stuff. :grouphug:

You're just in time. :lmao: :rotfl2:

I think I'm going to book AoA that Saturday night. :thumbsup2

:tink: 28 days until ADRs!!! :tink:

:figment: 208 days until WDW!!! :figment:

A discount would be the bomb, I guess I assumed we wouldn't but if there is that would be so very very cool! I think you are right which means we'll probably be doing the carriage ride on the 17th as Pat is doing it with us and I think she leaves on the 19th. I just need to make sure if we do it on the 17th, all of us get there on time that day as it is arrival day for 3 of us that will be in the carriage! In looking at our plans we'd have our 1st 2 nights hitting the carts, which is probably good as those are the non weekend nights but then the next 4 as ADR's. I guess that'd be ok as we could always cancel one as long as they are later in the week...every single one on our dinner list is a CC guarantee though so that might be a bit risky if we space!

Honestly, I'd allow 60. If you wait for a bus for 15 minutes or more that can derail things quickly no matter where you are staying. Getting there a little early is always better than stressing about being late and losing your ADR.

I'm chronically early in real life so 60 shouldn't be an issue. Wow, though, that is a ton of travel time each day. But I just can't fathom renting a car for another $500. Even the tiniest compact is $$$$ for that many days. Oh.....what to do? It would be nice to just hop in the car. We've got 2 internal shuttle/bus systems to deal with this trip. Maybe I should just stay off property? :rotfl2:

Jenna, you are a bad girl. Did more of your waitlist come through? Did you decide on your first night?

Cynthia, that's where I am with the whole ADR thing. I cancel when we aren't going to make it but honestly having to put down a guarantee, though I totally understand why, is kind of a pain. I've got 4 I want for sure. I've got us cooking 3 nights, and then F&W. Not sure how the kids will fare with F&W. I have images of them overdosing at the caramel place in Germany. :scared: Sugar. High.

It was pointed out to me that staying that additional first night does add an extra move to the mix and without a car, how would we and our bags get to the THV? I guess because it's Disney, it would just be a normal split stay?

I need an intervention. Seriously perseverating on the tiniest crap. :upsidedow

I am catching up on the Dis and your ptr is my first stop. The man who is like my second dad died yesterday and I m tired of crying so I am planning. :goodvibes Our families went on lots of vacations together but the very first vacation that we went on together was to Disney World which was also my first trip there. We all (8 kids and 4 adults, 1 being 7moths prego) all drove from Maine to Florida. Our parents must have been crazy.

I think you should book the extra night at AoA.

We had stove that had the Sabbath setting. We couldn't figure it out why it wouldn't work from Fri evening to Sat eve. The people who lived in our apt before us must have been Jewish and had it set that way. The fix it people coouldn't figure it out so they just changed out our stove. (That was originally what I thought of when Cherie asked you not what you said)

Oh my gosh, I am so sorry for your loss. Cry away sweetie. :goodvibes Glad you stopped by for a reprieve. Disney planning is a great escape. I'm glad you've got those special memories.

I see you changed to Pop. Do tell......popcorn:: Two rooms at Pop was another pre-night option but knowing Chloe, she'd never want to leave. The bigger and brighter the better for her. :thumbsup2 And if I got anywhere near that big Lady, I might never leave. :cloud9:

No and no.:upsidedow I'll decide on that first night when they release AP rates.

Ha! Nate was on a sugar high from the caramel place.:rotfl2: It was heavenly. :cloud9: Pure bliss in the form of a snack credit.:rotfl: Every now and then I start craving their caramel bars. Mmmmmm!!:lovestruc

Just leave your bags with Bell Services to transfer & head to the park. Then check in later when you are ready for a break from the parks. You can bus over from whatever park you decide on.

Did you book your DC hotel? And I haven't heard anything again on your dessert party decision.

I have a GREAT reason you and Cynthia have to come to NYC.... I'll have to msg you both.

I have to book the Ritz. Haven't finalized the dessert party yet.
