I am dying to try GCV. I'd love to do a small add on there and go every other year.

What section of SSR are you going to request? My grandmother, aunts, and cousin were in The Springs. It was pretty close to dining, etc. from what I remember.

I love craps too. I can get carried away. :rotfl:

I wish I could go to DLR the week before Christmas, but I won't be able to with work. Maybe I should go during spring break 2013 instead...

I don't know what section to request; ideas?

Michael's game is Craps and he has this whole system. He's fun to play with- super great energy.

Both Spring Break and Christmas are painfully crowded. I'd go Christmas. At least you get the holiday magic with the crowds. ;)

Yay for 1 week!!!

:woohoo: :dance3: :woohoo: :dance3:

Hmmm, I would request a section close to the main pool, restaurants, and shops. Do you want to be near a bus stop?

Do you recommend DLR in the summer?

I'd like to be near the first busstop I think. I get confused with the way it works as far as drop of and pick up.

My favorite times at Disneyland in order are:
~ winter holidays
~ Halloweentime
~ early summer
~ early spring
~ mid summer
~ spring break

YMMV. :goodvibes The magic during the holiday far surpasses any crowd headache if you ask me. Disneyland is by far my favorite of all 6 US Disneyland/World parks. Disneyland is even more magical than MK. Cross my fingers. pixiedust:

In order:
1. Disneyland
2. MK
3. Epcot
4. DCA
5. AK and DHS tied

We really REALLY liked the Springs- we were so close to all the recreation stuff (like the bikes and basketball court, store and drink refill, also main pool, although we didn't go in this last trip, and the arcade). The kids made very good use of those things- and Timmy really missed the basketball at BCV this trip we just completed. Springs is the last stop- but you can easily get off/on at the first stop (Grandstand) and walk over if it's crowded when you go- but October shouldn't be too bad. We were fine at the Springs stop everytime- never had to stand on the bus, but we are not rope-drop types, so then it may have been different. Only once did we ever get off at Grandstand, and that was because I had to pick something up in the store, and felt like going for a walk to check out that part of the resort. Grandstand is also not too far from the main area- my friends were there on our trip, and they liked it alot, it was also convenient- just not quite as much as the Springs, but I bet the views are prettier! :goodvibes

The treehouse bus also stops at the Springs stop- so when you are staying there, you'll take a treehouse bus to the springs, then a bus from the springs to the parks- and reverse that when you return. KWIM?

I can't wait to hear about your DL trip- I want to go soooo badly!! I would LOVE to see it at Christmas!

Your trip is so close! :yay:
Are you all packed and ready to go?

I definitely need to send you an PM about DLR.

:goodvibes Thanks for the SSR overview. :thumbsup2 :woohoo: The Springs area sounds perfect. The kids are old enough to walk over to main areas for drinks and such.

I didn't know the THV had their own busses within SSR?! :upsidedow So transportation will take longer for sure.

I will give a full report on Disneyland and maybe even do a few live check ins on my Disneyland pre-trippie. popcorn::

Disneyland is amazingly magical during the holidays. Disneyland is so quaint and you really do feel Walt's gift there. pixiedust:

PM away girl!

I haven't started packing hence the FB status. ;) Luggage is out, printed out all of our itineraries such as car, DVC, flight info, lists made, and now I just need to get busy. I'm working today and tomorrow (clearly- haha) I might do the unthinkable and pack the night before :faint:

OK, spill about the villa changes popcorn::

 I think we are going to ditch the THV portion and go for a 2 bedroom SV at AKV. :woohoo: Kidani or Jambo? After the GCV view that we scored again, I have become totally spoiled. I am a view hoe. :hippie: I admit it. We like to spend time at the resort. I love having my morning coffee while looking at something fabulous. I'm going to have to borrow like 40 more points but at this point, I am so maxed out, it doesn't matter. :lmao: I told DH and he said we'll just have to add on. It won't happen before next summer but it's on the table.

It's not set in stone but Chloe is on board. She'd like to ditch the SSR portion not the THV portion but the SSR part is non-negotiable. ;)

Sounds fabulous! I would pick a SV over THV also. THV seems absolutely beautiful, but very remote.
And I say go with Kidani. You'll have 3 bathrooms in a 2 bedroom.

My only hesitation with Kidani is that there is no CS. We'd probably get groceries delivered anyway but I like being able to send the kids down if they want something. And the gift shop is smaller but really, we didn't buy anything from the shop at the GCV. We bought everything in the parks and the World of Disney in DTD. I need a map I can wrap my head around. I am spacially challenged and am having trouble picturing the resort layout. :upsidedow

Where would you add on? SSR?

Ideally the GCV. :cloud9: We go to Disneyland far more often but we don't plan those trips as far in advance as we do for WDW. We've been lucky with 7 month bookings thus far but that might not always be the case. GCV are just so $$$. I'd also add on at AKV. I want to go through Disney though. Resale can't travel outside of the DVC resorts anymore.

The lack of a CS is the only drawback to Kidani. The two things that pushed us to book Kidani over Jambo for August are 1. the extra bathroom and slightly larger villas and 2. it's newer and the villas were not converted from standard rooms. I did some research and found that because the Jambo villas were converted from standard rooms, they tend to be slightly smaller. Oh and the master bath at Kidani sold me. I NEED to have a fabulous bathroom. :lmao:

I'd love to buy some points at GCV. And I'm with you on buying direct from Disney. Even though resale is cheaper, I kind of like going directly to the source. Plus, I love my guide. He's awesome.

How difficult would it be to get GCV for February at the 7 month mark? Is that typically a busy time?
