Hope you had a great 4th! I've been out of school for a little over a week and have been enjoying every minute. Our trip is getting closer, but I don't want to rush summer.

I'm so excited. We'll drive for sure. Flying to CA just isn't worth it with 5 of us. And because we'll do half at the beach and half at Disneyland, we'll need a car.

Glad you are enjoying your summer. DH will be heading that way in about 2 weeks- said it's VERY hot there in the summer. First he'll be at the Jersey shore and then Montauk for a couple of shoots. I'm painfully jealous!

How long is the drive?

I did see my nephews. I was at the Jersey Shore. There are parts of the shore that are the opposite of that show. It is so HOT. The humidity is ridiculous. Montauk is beautiful. You should try to come to the East Coast with him.

Not a terrible drive at all.

I'm in Bayside, Queens. It's on the North Shore and practically in Long Island. I'm a short drive from Manhasset, Great Neck, and Roslyn.

I am totally unfamiliar with NY. I have a good friend who lives in Queens but I haven't a clue where.


The drive is easy. The kids are so used to it. It's 6 Disney movies away; 5 if one of them is Mary Poppins.

6 Disney movies isn't bad at all! I wish we could just drive to WDW, but it's 16 hours+ with no stops or traffic. I could not handle that.

Have you seen the new rooms that will be done next spring at POR? I'm considering one of those princess rooms for a couple of nights. I'd like to try the pirate rooms at CBR, but it doesn't seem as nice as the princess rooms.

It has been beastly the last few days. We are knocking at 100 with a somewhat low humidity. I prefer a little humidity, most people think I am nuts about that but that is how I roll.

Michael is the same- he hates the humidity. I like it a little humid. Utah is painfully dry. Terrible for my skin.

We are cooling down. It is about 10 or so degrees cooler today. We went down into the low 60's/high 50's over night which meant I actually got a good nights sleep for the first time in days.
