Hi!!

Hope you're enjoying your Saturday.

My DVC guide emailed me about BLT being sold out soon. I didn't want to add on now. UGHHH!!! I'm sure I'll still be able to buy points once BLT is sold out. My guide said I could buy BCV. Isn't BCV sold out? Decisions, decisions! SSR and AKV are options too. I'm just hoping for DVC at the Poly or GF :cloud9:

I have to make ADRs in 12 days :scared1: It's so early to plan out meals for August. UGHHH! Do you usually do the dining plan? Or just pay OOP? DO you do an ADR each day? We are considering no dining plan, just TiW. We did deluxe dining last year and we def wasted a lot of $$$.

Sold out? Hmmm.....you can buy resale but new resale sales limit where you can use your DVC outside of WDW/Disneyland. There is a ton of info in the DVC section of the DIS. If BCV is for sale, I'd consider that for sure. Of course you could hold out for Poly DVC but I don't think it's much more than a rumor at this point.

As far as ADRs, I agree, it's difficult to anticipate what you'll want to eat. Take into consideration it will be summer so while something heavy might sound good in the middle of winter, it may not mid-summer.

During our first trip we did the DDP. It was free and still included the appetizer and tip. Even if we had to pay it would have been a screaming deal. I will say it was far too much food and we wasted a ton. :guilty: We ended up with a ton of CS credits left over but were able to convert them to snack credits and came home with more treats than we knew what to do with. That was also before they nixed half of the good snacks.

Our last trip we did the DDP but because we did a split stay we only did it for 5 nights which was better terms of wasting food. :thumbsup2 I also realized you could sub a side salad for dessert which was beneficial for sure. What family needs 5 desserts?

Because you have APs I would do the TIW card. It includes a discount off your entire check and doesn't limit how you order. When we go to dinner we generally share a few appetizers, share entrees, and skip dessert so the DDP just doesn't work for us. It's too limiting in what we can order. Plus we enjoy a glass of wine or cocktail and aren't huge soda drinkers.

Whew, I was starting to doubt your lucidity! :lmao:

Just at Gabby's soccer practice, then going on a date to the movies with Chloe, then bikram, and finally Chinese food for dinner. It's my least favorite but poor Chloe's mouth is still hurting from getting her braces last Tuesday and she's wanting lo mien.

:rotfl:
Yeah, when Scotty and I first got married he wanted to go backpacking. When I stopped laughing I asked why. I can see no reason to give up little luxuries like hit water to shower in.

What a nice mom you are.:goodvibes

All the menus I looked at said tax was included (in the price they showed) but not gratuity. It would be nice if it was included.

It sure makes it so much easier. Your trip is so close now. And how wonderful to be able and relax while you do the parks.

Yes it would be so much easier. I know that they deserve a tip but they really only clear plates and refill your drink. Am I wrong or is it different at Disney?

Yes we have at least 2 park days for all the parks and a few extra days where we can go where we want. So we don't have to try to cram everything into one day. Plus we have a non-park day scheduled every 3 days so that helps too.

It's nice that you can have a day to relax and honestly I think that is so important.

At Goofy's Kitchen I know that although it is a buffet there are waiters that bring your drinks and such, I think it the way to give it more of formal feel.

ONE week from today we will be here.....

:goodvibes You are a smart camper; me, not so much.

I have a question, do you tip the full 18% for a buffet? What is normal?

I tip at a buffet as I would any other restaurant. Waiting tables is hard work and I think working a buffet would even be worse. I know we go through a ton of plates.

Can't wait to hear how breakfast at Chef Mickey's was. We tried it for dinner and while the food was not great, the character interaction was awesome. :upsidedow

It's so close now; are you even sleeping at night? :hyper:

I think I'm going to hold out on buying more points right now. If DVC still has BCV points for sale, I'm sure I'll be able to purchase BLT points in the future.

We eat just like your family. Sometimes, it's just apps. Sometimes we split entrees. But we never eat all of that dessert. With my younger nephew turning 3 in June, it will mean another person paying for the dining plan. And he doesn't eat enough to justify prepaying for food. Actually, my 7 year old nephew doesn't eat enough to justify the dining plan either :rotfl:

We bought TiW and probably will get a better deal that way. Plus, the 20% off includes adult drinks. :thumbsup2

My brother and SIL were going to join my parents, nephews, and I, but a wrench was thrown into the plans. My SIL is expecting and due September 1st. There is just no way she can go on our 8/10-8/23 Disney trip.

Even here when we go to dinner, unless it's a place that offers seafood or steak on the kids' menu, Chloe and Joshua will share an adult entree, Gabby and I will share, and DH gets his own. My kids are way past chicken strips and Mac n Cheese for the most part.

Are your nephews still going?

I am sure you will. I think DVC uses scare tactics to push sales like most companies. Add on when it feels right and it's really what you want. :goodvibes

My nephews are like your kids. They'd prefer seafood and a good steak to theme park mac n cheese!

My nephews are still going. They can't wait!

I agree with you about the scare tactics. It surprises me that they keep raising BLT prices even though it's almost sold out. I wonder why AKV and SSR aren't sold out yet.

We will also be in Disney in Oct 2012! I am very excited!

:welcome: newmommy!!! Great to have you. Please share your plans with us. :goodvibes

SSR is huge and AKV is "far" so to speak. Disney is pushing what's new and hot but truly I think all of the DVC resorts are fabulous and would be stoked to own at any of them. :thumbsup2

I am glad your nephews are still going. I hope to do an adults only trip one day but sharing Disney with kids is part of what makes it so magical to me. pixiedust:

Jumping in here, both BCV and BW are available right now, as is BLT (and AKV, SSR and Aulani). I've been having a number of conversations with them lately.

Do tell.......popcorn:: What are you buying? Do you know how much BWV are going for per point? Is there a minimum add on?

Whew! I finally made it! Took days of reading but I'm finally caught up. :lmao: Can't wait to read about all the plans and trips in the next year and nine months. :rolleyes1

I didn't know there were still BWV points available! I would love to buy in there but there is no way I can afford it. :sad2: Maybe someday.

 :welcome: Glad to have you. The dates are the only thing solid at this point. :rotfl2:

I didn't either and as far as points per night, the BWV are a steal. :thumbsup2

How did you find transportation to/from OKW?
I'm going to do a little research on the THV. I love that you get a 3 bedroom for the same points as a 2 bedroom. A definite plus and a selling point for SSR.

I agree with you about the DVC resorts. Last summer, we booked a studio for my grandma, aunt, and cousin at SSR and they LOVED it. We went over to SSR a couple of times and thought the resort was beautiful. They had lots of activities going on at the pool and being close to DTD is so nice.

I've visited Jambo House and LOVED it. The models of the Kidani villas are beautiful. You can't go wrong with any of the DVC resorts.

Ideally, when we add on, my preference is to add points at BLT and BCV. With a new niece/nephew arriving at the end of the summer, walking to the MK is definitely nice. She/he will be in a stroller for the first few trips and walking is SO much easier with one. And BCV is a no brainer. SAB + summer = lots and lots of pool time. My 7 yr old nephew loves Epcot and I suspect the 2 yr old will love it more as he gets older. The IG entrance at Epcot is a plus for all of the adults. BCV is just steps away from a Grey Goose Slushie! :rotfl:

I did an adult only weekend trip to Disney in November and loved it. It has a totally different feel. But sharing the Disney magic with kids is just wonderful. :cloud9: I love that my nephews are excited about going back. The 2 year old calls the castle the "birthday house." :rotfl2:

I really want to get back to DLR. I've been reading about the additions/renovations going on over there. We want to go when all of that is done and Cars Land opens. We're thinking sometime in 2013. :thumbsup2
Maybe we can have a West Coast Dis meet.

I bet all of them are always available. The whole BLT is going to be sold out before the end of the year bit may just be a sales pitch. Plus, BLT prices are going up in March.

We are going to wait a little bit before adding on. With my SIL expecting at the end of the summer, the size of the accomodations we will need is going to change. I'd rather wait and buy enough points at once for the accomodations we really want.
