The story is that when Mickey went to go on travels Minnie made him Duffy to go with him so that he wouldn't be lonely without her. I think he is adorable, and he is so cuddly.

:cutie: Adorable! I hadn't ever heard that. Does Duffy get passed around or does everyone have their own?

They are selling them at DCA now, and I think he is at all of the parks now. He originally started in Disneyland Japan. He was such a hit there they decided to put him in all of the parks.

This is a picture of my friend Marsha's daughters when they met Duffy in WDW.

He looks sort of animae to me. :thumbsup2 Neat. Chloe would be all over this.

Came home sick from work yesterday and today. DH is making fun of me but I think it's a mild re-outbreak of shingles. I got them last year, well every symptom except the blisters but the doc said the tingling on my side is the key. And for some reason, I get a very upset stomach. This will be Day 3 without any sort of yoga/gym time. :guilty:

Oh I am sorry to hear that. You poor thing. I hope you feel better.

I hadn't noticed that he had that anime look until you said something and I looked at him again. I still love him.:cloud9:

I was all excited to tell Chloe about Duffy during dinner and she was like: duh mom. I read about him on the DIS. :rotfl2: :rotfl: :lmao: Gawd, I love that kid.

:thumbsup2 Kids are funny most of the time. ;) Gabby tends to get that I-am-too-cool-for-you-tone which makes me want to throttle her. I tell her that it isn't so much what she's saying but how's she saying it. :scared:

I go through that with Kacy and Kody. It is a constant argument.

How about a little history on Duffy? He was introduced as Disney Bear several years ago and my MIL bought two of them. Here is the story that came with him.

"One night before the park opened, Mickey was sitting by the castle. The rest of his friends had not arrived yet, so Mickey brought along his favorite teddy bear to keep him company. Mickey was so excited to be in such a magical place that he wished he had somebody to explore the park with. Suddenly, Tinker Bell flew down out of the starry sky and saw Mickey sitting there with his stuffed friend. She had heard Mickey's wish and sprinkled the bear with Pixie Dust. The Pixie Dust filled the bear and he miraculously came to life! Mickey was so excited and happy, that he gave the bear a hug. As soon as Mickey hugged the bear a magical Mickey head shaped impression appeared on the bear's face, forever bonding him with Mickey. From that moment on, Mickey had a very special friend to share all his magical memories."

Apparently he didn't do very well with that story so they pulled him. Tokyo reintroduced him with outfits and the name Duffy and he did well over there so they brought him back to the states.

Oh my gosh that is amazing and I like it better than the story he has now. Thank you for sharing it!!

:headache: The problem for me is that some her her crankiness is age appropriate, hormones etc...so it's hard to determine what is "normal" vs what is *****y.

How's your weekend?

I was up all night with this thing I have even after a Benadryl. I was hoping for some sounds sleep but nope....

My friend is here from AZ today and the kids have all sorts of activities today. We are going to lunch today and I am thinking Texas Roadhouse but of course my Chloe wants the Olive Garden- we are trying to go semi-chap but yummy.

Tonight we are going to see No Strings Attached sans kids. ;) I love that Gabby is old enough to babysit. :thumbsup2 Plus it's only for a few hours and we are only 15 minutes away. I told her she could have a friend over too as long as they stay out of the booze. :rotfl:

:thanks: Looks like the second time around for Duffy is the charm. He's cute but I don't see me buying any merchandise of him of course unless the kids want something.

I know, and I feel like I have a constant battle on my hands. They can have the same opinion as you do but they argue anyway.:confused3 Or just get their mind set and no matter what you say they get irritated with you? I get so frustrated.

Our weekend will be quiet. This is the weekend that Scotty works so other than things I absolutely have to do I am totally going to do the mostly lazy weekend sleeping in and such. Which was supposed to happen this morning but no I have been up since before 6am. Oh well I will take a nap later.:rotfl:

Have fun with your company.

Thanks. It was fun! We saw No Strings Attached and it was hysterically funny- easily rivaled The Hangover- much more witty with the right amount of crude. :thumbsup2

Good morning Jenny!

Hope you're having a great Saturday morning.

:goodvibes It was a nice day/night. Still feeling under the weather though. Trying to make yoga to do nothing else than sweat this out.

How's your weekend?

I hope you're feeling better soon.

The weekend flew by! I spent some time with my older nephew, watching movies and playing Wii Sports Resort.

I dropped the 3 nights at BCV today. We decided the 10 nights at BLT is enough. Work schedule (not mine) conflicts. Plus, I was going to pay cash for BCV not to borrow more points. Well, I'd rather use that money for food and adult beverages. ;)

Have your kids done Pirate's League?

Thanks! Came home sick again. I don't know what the heck is going on with me, I am rarely sick for days. :sad2:

Isn't that fun? My kids love that and there is so much to choose from on one disc.

10 days is till fabulous and not paying cash/borrowing is good too. I'd feel sorry for you if your trip went from 8 to 5 days but 13 to 10, no way.

Have your kids done Pirate's League?

No, what is it? popcorn::

10 park days and the 11th day as just our departure day works for me. :thumbsup2 Plus, I want to get back to Maryland in the event my new niece/nephew is a couple of weeks early.

Pirate's League is sort of like BBB, but pirate makeovers. I think my nephews would LOVE it. Would your kids be into that?

We love the Wii Sports games. I like the PS3 games more.

:thumbsup2 That's an amazing trip girlfriend!

When they were younger yes but not now. Joshua (9) is all of a sudden a big guy and no longer my baby  or so he thinks.

I'd love to get my kids haircuts on Main St. Pretty sure all but Chloe would shoot down that idea.

We have a PS3 and I am so unfamiliar with any of the games except for Little Big Planet. Do they have game like Wii Sports?

I play role playing games. I have to tell you that I find it so stress relieving to hack and slash some bad guys. Not nice but oh it works for me.:rotfl:
