Do the room keys/parkhoppers have holes or some way to attached to a lanyard?

You can purchase a lanyard with a clear pocket on it to put your room card-key into...then, use the lanyard to double for pin-trading!!::yes::

I don't know how much they are at WDW, but I bought mine at Wal Mart for under a dollar. They are in the sporting goods dept. They are made to hold fishing licenses and have a zip lock closure to keep it waterproof.

At my wal-mart I found a few near the jewlery department along with the wallets. For my trip I bought a cheep 99cent ID holder from wal-mart, took up the cheep string that came with it, and put it on a key ring to attach to my laynard :D It worked very well, and it had a sliding ziplock on it too.

Thanks jimmybop for the idea! I also have one of those $ .97 clear plastic things from Walmart which I put DH and my identification cards in for at the airport. Makes going through security a little quicker. I wanted to use it for my hoppers at the parks but was worried the cheap string wouldn't hold. Your keyring/ lanyard idea is great! Thanks. :rotfl:

Don't wait and buy them at Disney World. They were $10 and didn't look sturdy at all. If there's one thing you want to make sure of, it's that the clear plastic sleeve will not break off. Go to WalMart and pick up a couple of their's for a fraction of the price you'll pay @ Disney.

Thanks all. I went to Walmart and got both kids they have there. I took off the breakaway lanyard and put the ziplock one on my favorite lanyard. Perfect! I will save the pin on one for the kids, and I spent 1.50 for both.

Why in the world would you want to advertise the fact that your hotel room is empty because your are in the parks?

Scammers look for these kinds of opportunities any any vacation destination!

GQQFY - All the "keys" look the same, it isn't like anyone can look and see where your room is......

Where have y'all (yes, I'm from Texas) purchased your lanyards? I would like to get some that are thick enough to securely hold pins for trading and that have the plastic pouch for holding the fast passes. Would also be nice if they were long.

I have seen some lanyards on Disney Auctions but they seem rather pricey (even though they come with a dangle and pin(s)), but they don't have the plastic pouch. From the ideas above, I suppose once I find a lanyard that is thick and long enough, I could just buy the plastic pouch to attach to the end of the lanyard?

Any ideas? Thanks!!

The room keys only have the name of the resort (and the crook would have to be close enough to you to read it) and it doesn't have the room number on it anywhere. So, at worst, he'd know that somewhere in a 2,000 room resort, is an empty room!

It was nice of you to try to warn the OP, though!

For our last trip (8/04), I wanted a small wallet so i wouldn't have to bring my regular wallet. At Target I found a little wallet that has a clear pocket on the front. When you open it the money area is zippered and there are slots inside for cards on one side and another clear pocket on the other. It has a lanyard-type strap that you can attach on the long side or the short side & it has a break-away clasp on it. There is no change area though. This was just the right size for my id, etc. Many times i threaded the strap through the belt loops of my shorts & then stuck it in my pocket. I was wearing my lanyard so i didn't want another thing around my neck. I have the Disney clear pouch thing but the type with the clip not a neck strap. I clip it inside the inner zipper pocket of my bag so it is always readily accessible when I need it.

That is a GENIUS idea! I'm going to get two of them tomorrow!

At first I was unsure about using it at the airport, but changed my mind after several security people commented on how they wished everyone was so well organized. :teeth:

I put my driver's liscense on one side and DH's on the other. Then all I had to do was show them 'my side' and flip it over to show them 'his'. Better than fumbling around in my hippack every time. I'll do anything to make getting through the airport easier.

Yes, thanks. Anything to speed along security at the airport is what I want. How did it work at the World?
