Key West scooters

I would like some info too.:D We have always wanted to rent some and since the speed limit is 35 in Key West this might be the safest place to rent scooters.

On Duval St. there is a hotel up by Fat Tuesdays that rents the scooters in their parking lot. I don't remember the cost but it was not crazy. You can rent by the hour or all day. We always chose all day. We had a blast, and I believe it is the best way to see the key. You can pick up a map of the key that points out all the good spots at the soveinger shop where the trolly tickets are sold. Definitly go for the scooters, they are too much fun to pass up.

Good Morning,
This is Shirley and as just about everyone now knows I am an ol' conch from Key West - My hubby Norm and I will be leaving this morn for Key West and I will check out more information on stuff there at home - I also offer free brochures, pamplets, coupons for Key West and the only thing it cost anyone is sending for it with a self addressed envelope with about $3.50 worth of stamps - I get it right back to you.
If I can help, just drop me a note at snelsonbrown@aol.com
always

If you love Keylime pie, you've got to try a Pie-Pops from Blond Giraffe. A piece of frozen Keylime pie on a stick dipped in chocolate. Their located at 629 Duval Street or 1209 Truman Ave.
They also have Keylime Rum cake.

I'm also a conch having been born and raised in the keys. I just got back from spending 2 months back home. There are scooter and electric car rentals in front of the Pier house right next to the conch train depot at the end of Duval st. When you get off the ship go to the corner of Duval and Front and turn left. The prices are all similar.. Look for coupons or specials. Spring break was a real bummer there so you might try bargining with them. And ride safe with a helmet. There were two different accidents involving moped operators, both of which were killed. Both were unhelmeted and operating in a reckless manner. Just use caution.:smooth:

I know some people like the electic cars but we were hoping to try the scooters. I was hoping that since the speed limit was only 35 that maybe it would be safer. I know that in other places they always advice criusers not to rent them because of the danger.
