Ok, I mentioned I wanted one in front of my sister in law who said oh we have one and have never use it. Taaaadaaaa free Keurig. Along with free keurig came no instructions and i am so lost as to what to order. I am diabetic. Are the k cups sugar free? If not, are there any that are sugar free? Also, i love flavored coffee, like pumpkin spice from starbucks, so what would i like? I dont want this to end up costing me more than it should. thanks

For some reason, this struck my sense of humor. :lmao:

you can check out their website which will have the flavors, and descriptions. You can probably also get a copy of the instructions. I dont know about sugar free. I have gotten k cups at kohls, and I know you can buy them at BB and Beyond. I have gotten celestial seasonings tea and really like it. Have gotten pumpkin spice coffee, but a friend gave me one to try. I would start out with the website, and then find someplace you can physically look at the brands. Good luck. I got mine for Christmas, and I LOVE it!!

You have no idea. I will be ordering this gadget to display the coffees and that thing to try, etc. To be so frugal with clothes, etc i can get caught up in bags, etc and turn into a hoarder in a moments notice. :rotfl2:

I'm relatively certain NONE of the coffees or teas are presweetened, however you're probably going to want to stay away from the flavored coffees because I bet I'm wrong there :teeth: Cocoa with sugar will most likely describe itself as that; if not, at least the opposite - sugar-free - will be stated where appropriate.

The best prices I've found for K-cups is on Amazon with the auto-ship program. I can get 50 k-cups for around $19 with free shipping.

If you're not sure of flavors, look at bigcatcoffees.com, where you can make a sampler of 5 cups each, five flavors. I think it's like $15 which is more than you'd pay for a full box of a flavor but at least you can see what you'd like and not like, and then go and get some full boxes of the flavors you like.

I second amazon for buying cups, but you might want to try to register the machine, in case your SIL never did. Go to keurig.com, register the machine (if it lets you) - the serial number is behind the drip tray - and you get a coupon code ("warranty") that gets you 2 free boxes with 2 purchased, 10% off, and free ship. Costs about $25 for 4 boxes of 22 - 24 cups. It's a really good deal.

as far as the thing to display the coffees....I dug out an old spice rack..the kind that holds spices in jars. WORKS PERFECTLY for the k cups!! You probably can buy one at goodwill for a buck!

Not sure about being sugar free...looked at my husband's box of Timothys Irish Cream flavored K-cups...all it says is 100% Arabica coffee and natural and artificial flavorings

We just got a Keurig for xmas and LOVE it! You can go online to Keurig.com and register your machine. When you do that you should be able to score 2 free boxes when you buy 2 boxes..plus you get 10% off your order and free shipping. Of course, assuming that your SIL didn't already register it...

They also have the re-usable filter for the keurig. Its 15$ at Bed & Bath and then you can use your 20%. You can then fill it with your favorite brand. Much cheaper I would think then the k-cups.

The My K Cup reusable filter made really weak coffee, even when you fill it all the way up with grounds. We fixed it by making our own paper filters to go between the included mesh basket and the grounds. We folded cheap basket filters in half (the size for a regular coffee pot), traced a fairly large rimmed coffee mug onto it and cut out the circle (each big filter makes two small ones). If you use a paper filter, it slows the coffee down enough to make the coffee take the flavor of the grounds. It came out much better that way and only takes about a TBSP of grounds per time.

I am 99.9% sure that the coffees and teas are sugar free. There is not room in the K Cup for sugar AND coffee grounds. The hot chocolate may have sugar or artificial sweetener. Doesn't matter, the hot chocolate is not good.

If you buy, don't forget what other threads have suggested to get your first shipment dirt cheap. Go to the Keurig web site, register your machine, and you can order 4 boxes for the price of 2 with the code WARRANTY. I got 4 boxes of 24 each K cups for $25.01. There was no S&H. GREAT DEAL!

Glad I'm not the only one that thinks so. I made some last night and had to doctor it up quite a bit. Even when I made the smallest cup size, it was still very weak.

I actually like the hot chocolate. Got the dark chocolate something, and then the bellagio or something like that from the keurig site. I just add milk and whipped cream. Tastes good to me!

I like my cocoa made with milk and dark chocolate. Homemade (from cocoa powder, sugar and milk) is just as easy and I can make it as strong as I want to .

I've found the regular and flavored coffees not to have added sugar (and they did have pumpkin spice), but the cocoa's, mocha's, and flavored ICED teas to have sugar.
