As the race heats up and the accusations (notice I didn't say attacks) really start flying around, are you going to listen and investigate any accusations that are leveled against your candidate?

What I would be curious to know is and as the political battle heats up over the next 3 months, what would be the likelihood of you either not voting for Kerry or Bush if some really politically (or personal) news that you just completely disagreed with (something that wasn't know already and turned out to be true) was revealed.

Just a little on the chunky side Bush voter.

I've been looking into some stuff. I could change my mind, but I don't know what would make me.

I made-up my mind a long time ago and it would have to be a HUGE item to come out to make me change my mind. Even if I did change my mind, I could never vote for the other person, I would just not vote.

I am completely behind Bush.

Something completely horrible would have be discovered for me to discontinue support.

It could happen. :duck: The main possibility that might swing me over to the other side is if Cheney stepped down and Bush asked McCain to join him. Then I'd really stop and think things over because if that happened, it would mean McCain running in 2008 and that just makes me slap happy even thinking about.

I don't really understand why he doesn't do it. I know Bush is the "stay the course" guy but I doubt he'd actually lose votes if Cheney stepped down and the votes he would gain with someone like John McCain could seal a victory for him.

These what ifs are just too darn hard to guage. IF my guy was indicted for some horrendous crime then I suppose I couldn't vote for him. All other things would fall in the gray area.

Sooo, moving to the end of this, will you read the replies and see that most of us are solid in our choices and declare the political posts pointless since none of us is likely to change position anyway? LOL!

 Thanks for the smile ;)

I always investigate when someone accuses or attacks. I like to know both sides of the story or at least read the facts and make up my own mind. Something really disasterous or miraculous would have to happen to change my mind at this point.

I don't pay much attention to the press since they will always be biased. I try to research each candidate the best I can and will change my mind if I find a good reason to. Unfortunately, the choice is sometimes choosing the lesser of two evils.

This election is easy for me. I'm firmly in the Bush camp. The more I look for even the slightest reason to consider Kerry the more I have to shake my head and wonder why the Democratic party can't come up with anyone better.

As some have said here, it would take something pretty drastic to change my mind. I firmly believe that Kerry can--and will--once again restore our country's dignity and do his best to improve the lives of the majority of Americans.

GeorgeG, this isn't an attack--just an observation. :) I think it is funny that you say what you do; I know many people who feel the same way about George Bush and the Republicans ("that's the best they can do? Haven't they been paying attention?"). It is kind of interesting that people can have mirror image views like that.

And Palmtreegirl....I actually heard it opined the other day that the Bush admin must either have something very, very nasty (and true) on McCain, or someone has offered him a cherry position in the admin if he gets re-elected, since he's thrown his support there despite the fact that they insinuated lies about him and dragged him, his wife, and his child through the mud during the 2000 primaries. (Please note--opined. Not saying it's fact, but someone's opinion.)

I wouldn't vote for Bush if he was running against Guido the killer pimp :teeth: If something horrendous came out against Kerry, I'd probably just skip that box on the ballot.

Bill Mahr (I think) said this on last week's show....and Clinton actually brought up something similar in his appearance on the Daily show...He said it was nauseating that this same crew (Bush's people) had callers in South Carolina telling people that McCain had a "black baby" because it was racist, and that these same people are the ones that used the original drafting of the homeland security bill (that would have stripped civil service protections from about 160,000 workers) to paint Max Cleeland as somehow less than patriotic (that would be what was left of Max, anyway, since he left half his body IN FRIGGIN' VIETNAM !!!).

And people wonder why there's so much hatred towards the Bush group

NOTHING can change my mind. I investigate the things that concern me and I've been investigating for over 4 years now.

I'm voting for that Killer Pimp! :p

Sorry....Caught Risky Business over the weekend for the first time in quite a while, and the name just popped in my head :teeth:

VOTE GUIDO FOR CHANGE !! ;)

I'm with wvrevy. I honestly wouldn't vote for Bush if someone offered me 30 million bucks to do it. Even if I were guaranteed no one would ever know that I voted for him, my heart and soul wouldn't let me do it.

If something really awful came out about Kerry, I'd either vote for Nader, write in Dean, or skip my vote for President for the first time since I was 18 years old.

I research everything I feel strongly or passionate about. I look at media reports from the Left and the Right, try to find the important points from both sides, then try to find the truth the best *I* can. I look until *I'm* satisfied that *I* have come up with the most truthful or unbiased answer *I* can, to satisfy me. And ... I start at Find Law and Fact Check (someone asked where you start), then go from there. :)
