Kelly's first day back today...who watched.

Right! The truest thing she said was, "My dad, a bus driver for 30 years, thinks we are all crazy." Sounds like she needs to spend some time with her dad to gain some real world perspective. She's lost the thread, for sure!

Exactly, funnily enough. We were called to an early meeting last week to tell us that our boss was being promoted. He had quietly been in discussion for a week or so (we found out later.) The meeting lasted 5 minutes and then the move was publicly announced. Guess what, we are all sad because he's a great boss but we all carried on with our work day and showed up the next. Cause guess what? We're professionals and the world doesn't revolve around any one of us.

Kelly acted like a spoiled brat. I think her return was due in part to a lot of the publicity focusing on her brattiness and not being sympathetic- she needed to get back on there and attempt damage control. Her behavior after being told is likely the reason she wasn't told sooner. Those who work closely with her likely weren't surprised.

And Oprah is some kind of expert? To me she's the ultimate example of someone who used to be so watchable but then forgot she was ultimately a talk show host and not an actual expert on the issues discussed.
Bam... you nailed Oprah right on the head. Can't abide the woman ever since she worshipped at the altar of Jenny McCarthy. :mic:

To say that I can't stand Kelly is an understatement. I have disliked her since her days with Regis. I don't watch her show and if I do catch it, it seems that Michael fawns over her the the whole time. And yes, I have thought that she has been painfully underweight or a very long time.

That all being said, BRAVA to Kelly! What ABC and, to a certain extent, Michael did to her was inexcusable. I'm glad that she stood up and made it clear to ABC that she, the queen of their morning TV lineup, was not happy.

I feel the corporate world is a man's world because they have each other's backs. Until women stop behaving so catting to one another, including body shaming, we will continue to sit on the low end of the totem pole of life.

I agree with you about women needing to be nicer to each other and all that but the above is SO not true in my experience. I work in a field dominated by men and they are just as horrible to each other. Too many times I've been told a meeting got too "middle school" with all the ego bullcrap and shouting.

Hah sorry, off topic rant over.

I don't know many men that constantly talk about their bodies looking for attention. I don't know many men that wear plunging necklines for the sole purpose of showing off their boney chests, all the while going on and on about how they maintain that look.

Until certain women stop throwing their bodies out there by talking about them all of the time, those women will sit on the low end of the totem pole. I know I don't sit at the low end of ANY totem pole. And the women I surround myself don't either.

But, let's face it, Kelly is not sitting at the end of anything either. She is highly successful. So what she is doing must be working!

Although, I don't think many people find her as likeable as Michael. I have a feeling she is scared that the show will not make it without him.

Not at that low end of the totem pole and I am obese. I would never want to look like Kelly Ripa as it doesn't appeal to me. I would be fine weighing 150 lbs and that is fine with me. I have been successful being overweight and my weight doesn't define me.

Sorry, but there are a lot of very very screwed up people with serious issues and eating disorders who have made a lot of money, worshiping the god of Hollywood's cameras.
Both very thin, and very overweight.
Oprah and her crazed 'I LOVE Bread' commercial. (That is literally a poster-child commercial for eating disorders and food addiction.. really.)
Jarod Fogle
The list goes on and on.

So many who worshiped the god of fame, and end up dead on their bathroom floors.
Fame doesn't indicate, at all, to me, that anybody is 'right' or is 'doing something right'.

Kelly Ripa, without any doubt, is one of these.

When that Real Housewife went to prison, and mentioned having nothing to do all day but visit the gym and work out, (another very narrow focus on oneself and one's physical 'perfection') Kelly was actually like jealous. I mean JEALOUS, and said she would take a punishment like that any day. Have to wonder how her kids are affected. Seriously, she would like to be in a situation, like prison, so that she could focus one working out, 24/7, instead of home with her kids.... I remember what I was thinking when she did those kitchen appliance commercials, throwing delicious hot baked cookies to the kids. She said her kids were like, 'You never let US have cookies'. :sad2:

She does have the body of a pre-teen boy.
Bragged about having been mistaken for a boy, instead of a mature woman, in halloween costumes, etc...

Sorry to those who don't seem to get it.
But, because of her own words and actions, Kelly's anorexic weight is fair game.

You mention Oprah and I think about her Weight Watcher's thing going on now. I am an avid WW member and have been doing so for about 1 1/2 years, lost over 70 lbs so far. Right now I think there is way too much emphasis on Oprah. It is always "Oprah this and Oprah that." True she does have issues with food like the rest of us WW members, but lets be realistic. I would find it way easier to lose and maintain my goal weight if I was that rich. I would have a personal trainer at my beck and call, as well as a personal chef who could make a leaf of lettuce taste good.

Exactly. Because I bet you don't sit around all day talking about it.

I think Kelly almost gives a free pass to discuss her weight because, well, that's what she does. She opens the door to others to think it's ok. She yammers on and on about her body. Even when the conversation is not about food, or diet, or extreme exercising....she works it in somehow. It's her schtick.

So I think it makes others very comfortable to comment on it as well.

Um, you are yammering on and on about her body even though the conversation was supposed to be about Kelly's first day back at work.

I read the bolding as a way to point out which part of the post she was talking about.

I think my reaction was the same even without the bolding.

That the people body shaming Kelly are catty? Oh yes. We are seeing the nastiness of the internet right here. I bet none of you would ever say something like that to her face but anything goes online.

I just DO NOT want her husband to be the co-host...it's painful watching him be on the show at all. The most rumblings are about Anderson Cooper being tapped to replace Michael.

I'd like to see Jerry O'Connell replace Michael. Anderson and Kelly are too familiar with each other, almost like she is with her husband.

Every single one of YOUR posts are yammering about her weight . Not a single one is about her first day back at work.

Incorrect. I have been defending her weight against the body shaming. And I don't even particularly care for Kelly but hell, this wouldn't be allowed if she were overweight, obese or morbidly obese.
