Seeing that people in the industry ( ie Oprah, Regis) are supporting her actions show that there is defintely more to the story than her " being a baby" and "taking a fit" comments that people have been throwing around on social media.
You're using Regis as an example? The same Regis who, himself, didn't tell Kelly till minutes before the he made his own announcement? NOT a good example.

Compound that with not being told about Regis' departure until minutes before they went to air on the day he planned to announce and you see why she is upset
And Oprah is some kind of expert? To me she's the ultimate example of someone who used to be so watchable but then forgot she was ultimately a talk show host and not an actual expert on the issues discussed.
That is the best description of Oprah. Totally nailed it!

Decades ago, Arsenio Hall talked about how when he had his first talk show, when ever he called up a celeb or a star, the would answer the phone right away or call him back immediately. They invited him to parties, gave him free tickets to events, etc. He thought he had a lot of friends. When his show got canceled, very few people would answer his calls or call him back. He learned who his true friends are. He realized then that he didn't have a lot of friends, he had power & influence. They needed to be nice to him to be invited on his show.
Same with Kelly Ripa.
The fact is, Oprah & Regis no longer have talk shows. Kelly does. If they want to get on her show again in the future to promote something, they have to stay on her good side. We already see how Michael has to leave early. Regis has said a while back when someone asked him when was the last time he spoke to Kelly, it was the day he left the show. She NEVER has called him or talked to him since. (In comparison, he and Kathie Lee talk all the time.
