How many guests are you having? Does that include tax/other fees?

Very help, thanks!

Very help, thanks!

That price includes all taxes and fees. I am having 20 people including us at the ceremony and reception, and 26 in total at the dessert party.

Glad I can be of help! Reading other people's budgets and BEOs always helped me out - in fact I think that's why I came in so accurately with my budget!

it all looks great and i LOVE your invites! great wording look awesome! and i'm reminded of all your PS advice about the foods - your input and thoughts are very helpful!!

i'm so up in the air on what our budget will be!! in so many ways i feel like we are doing LESS than so many people (no DP, no dinner, no extra meals!) but we may have up to 42. i HOPE our budget comes in at or around yours as well!

great work!!

invites look great! :thumbsup2 that's awesome you've come close to your budget, too!

Thanks for posting your budget - with just upgrading to a Wishes this makes me feel much better about what my budget might be. Congrats at staying under

Your invites are great - love the theme

Just joining in, but I have to say I love love love the HDDR dinner idea. Still very far away from my DFTW, but always planning and wondering how to have both a DP and reception without going way over budget. And of course DBF loves Strawberry Shortcake!

My guests loved the idea too! I'm really glad I chose it...although a part of me can't imagine going to HDDR in a wedding dress!

Only 75 days till the start of this epic trip!! Good thing cause I need a vacation super bad!

Things have quieted down with the wedding planning, as it's pretty much all done now...I feel like I have gotten it all in a place where I just don't need to change anything! It's kind of a good feeling, and kind of a bummer all at the same time.

I am doing great on my mission to work out every day for the 90 days leading up to the trip. I walked 12.5 km yesterday!! I am chronicling that journey on my new blog (thelifeofkellymac.blogspot.com) - I have been really working to just simply be happy with my weight and not put all this pressure on myself to "lose that last 10 lbs"...but to just work out, be healthy, and see what happens. So what if i come back from my trip 10 lbs heavier??? I'll have built good habits that will help me to stay fit and healthy and that's what counts! I wish my attitude was this good every day - lol.

I am still in a state of disbelief that I'm under budget. The other day I emailed Amy to see how much it would cost to add additional transportation, but I decided this weekend that's just foolish. I didn't need it before, so I don't need it now!

Just wanted to let you know the caricature artist was a huge hit at our lunch last week. He was right through Disney. The sketches not only made great favors but the whole process was so entertaining. I can't wait to see the pictures.

I think we had also emailed about the glow necklaces through Disney. It was worth it for the ease. As people entered the site they were given a necklace. The kids really liked them.

Glad everything is coming together for you.

AHHHHH - you're back!!! How was everything??? We need some updates! I have been anxiously awaiting you resurfacing here...

Glad you had some first hand experience with the caricature artist and the glow necklaces...I decided on getting both through Disney - I don't want to bother with outside vendors - too much hassle for me!! It also helps that I managed to get both and stay under budget - that was awesome!

I will do some updates on my report but I think you were almost the only one reading :)
Skimmed a few pages to jog my memory as to what else we had in common and here are a few thoughts.

Randy Chapman-haven't seen the pictures yet but he seemed great. I had read before that he was as good as a maid of honor and now I know what they mean. Not only was he taking photos, fixing my earrings, leading me away from others when a potential crisis was brewing (limo) but he noticed details such as I was having trouble rolling up our sketch from the caricature. He had it rolled in no time.

Patricia-my make up stayed on all day in 90 degree heat!! Enough said. Not to mention her great personality. The fake eyelashes at $10 are a steal. I can't believe what a difference they made and for only $10. So worth it.

Jack Day-He made it seem as though he knew us. He had the grandfatherly feel that I liked A sweet man.

Amy-I think we have the same wedding planner. As you already know she is the best.

caricature artist-I know I have already mentioned it but the guy we ha was so worth it. He asked each person a few questions to see what they were interested in and then picked something to personalize the sketch.

Hope you don't mind me taking over your report with my reviews but I wanted to touch on the things we had in common and may have emailed about.

Oh no, I totally appreciate it - I love hearing how it all worked out! I agree with your thoughts on Amy - she really is amazing...I am so glad I got to keep her as my planner when I upgraded!

Congrats!

Just spent the morning (and afternoon so far) reading your PJ (I'm guessing that stands for Planning Journal??) and jumped over and read your mini-trip report. I love all the changes back and forth the wedding has taken. Had you been married on an earlier choice it would have been on my 22nd wedding anniversary. We were married Sept 23 - we honeymooned at WDW - back in our off-site days.

We bought DVC a in '97. You mentioned taking your step-son to OKW. Well, I don't have a lot of perspective - OKW was the only DVC resort we stayed at for about 10 years - so starting when my boys were 4-8 until they were 14-18 that is the only resort they knew - and they enjoyed the pools there just fine (and that includes before the slide was built at the main pool).

In the last year we finally broadened our horizons and stayed at the Treehouses at Saratoga (loved it - used the "private pool" that no one else ever seemed to be at, but was close enough to go to the more themed pools at the resort if we wanted to). Then this year we stayed at Beach Club. Had the amazing Stormalong Bay pool area - but the boys (now 16-20) only used it once (and only because we guilted them in to it! :confused3).

Without the boys we have stayed at Boardwalk (too cold to use the pool that trip) and Animal Kingdom Kidani (no time to use the pool). At Boardwalk we walked everywhere (I use an ECV at WDW and like to avoid buses as much as possible). So while at Boardwalk we either walked (or rolled) to Epcot or HS, or we walked thru Epcot and took the monorail to MK. We did not go to AK on this trip. We did take the bus to DTD one evening. At AK -Kidani the buses weren't awful - probably because we were picked up before Jambo, so I was able to load the scooter without it being a full bus already that is always a plus :thumbsup2.

We were there at the same time as your quick Planning trip. I had to re-check your dates when you were talking about you day trip to the MK. We went there the day before and it was absolutely miserable. We don't stand in a lot of lines (we are there frequently enough that if we skip something one trip we can catch it on another one). That day I think we did the Carousel of Progress, then trudged miserably over to the Haunted Mansion, looking at the long lines and fighting the thick crowds along the way. When we got there it was crazy long too and decided to go on the boat - something we haven't done for years. Well, due to no CM standing "guard" at the loading area, and such large crowds just milling around everywhere. We didn't realize that the scooter had to go to an alternate entrance - when a CM showed up when they were getting ready to load and told us we would have to fight against the flow of the crowd and go try to load at a different entrance.....:rolleyes1.....well, let's just say, that my husband was one of those "hot and cranky" people you mentioned in your report. :headache: That is when I went back and double-checked your dates to see if he was "the" hot and cranky person in your report :rolleyes1 I'm glad to say that he wasn't (although he probably made an appearance in someone else's report somewhere :scared:)From there we circled around through Frontierland over to Adventureland where the Pirate line was out into the "street" - then we worked our way out and went back to the resort. I'm sure it didn't help that we didn't get there until about 1:00 (we came after having lunch at Trail's End at Fort Wilderness). We did cool off and come back that evening as we had reservations for the Dessert Party at the Tomorrowland Terrace. I hadn't seen crowds like that since the years when we were hauling toddlers and babies during Easter week.

Congratulations on your upcoming wedding - I am trying to convince my boys that they need to marry Disney-fanatics who will let them have a Disney wedding. I already have them planned - I am going to marry my oldest boy off at Hollywood studios with the reception in the Great Movie Ride. And my youngest will be in the America Pavilion. I haven't decided what to do with my middle one - unless they would let him in the American Idol show or the Indy set. I guess I should let them find girlfriends first (and maybe win the lottery) before I start booking anything though :confused3

Congratulations - I am really enjoying your report!

Aw thanks so much for reading, and for the great reply! I was worrying this morning that since my wedding is pretty much all planned now and I finally got it in a place where I don't need to change it all the time, my PJ (yes you are right, Planning Journal) doesn't get much attention now!

I hope all of your wishes come true for your boys! I'm not even sure anymore how the idea of a Disney Wedding even entered my mind originally...I think it was as random as my sister sending me a link to the Weddings section of the Disney website, long before I ever considered getting married. And now here I am 2 months away! It's a bit crazy but I am thrilled.

If I had an unlimited budget I would have totally had my reception in the Great Movie ride - that would be absolutely amazing!

Also thanks for the feedback on the DVC resorts, as new members I just want to try them all. I'm still trying to decide where I want my add-on contract to be!

A little feedback from my boys. They absolutely love OKW. Which is kind of why it took us so long to venture out anywhere else. We would show them pictures of the other resorts and they wanted to stay at OKW (home). I think for them it was more the comfort of being in a familiar place. We always (used to) drive, so I always liked OKW and being able to park our van right near our resort. I didn't like the "hotel-type" resorts where you park in the middle of nowhere and schlep your luggage all through the resort. But that could be because we pack like we are moving in. :confused3 Once we discovered flying (wonder invention - airplanes!) we were more open to trying new places. That's how we wound up at Boardwalk and AK. We will be back again in November staying at Boardwalk (during Food and Wine festival :woohoo:)

Maybe some year we will bump into each other on an anniversary trip. We love the weather in Florida that time of year. Since my youngest is starting his last year of high school in the fall hopefully we are almost done with these crazy-hot summer vacations and can get back to the wonder laid-back September-October vacations that we prefer.

Okay, I've managed to read this ENTIRE thread! Amazing! I am SO excited for you! If we'd had the means, we totally would have gotten married at WDW, (ran away to Vegas instead! :rotfl2::thumbsup2) You guys sound like good, fun people, I hope your wedding and trip are AMAZING! I'll be following along from here on out!

Wow - this is the nicest comment ever. Mostly because on the internet it's hard to really "get to know" anyone...and truly we ARE good, fun people!! Thanks a bunch - this made my day...
