Recommendations for a small, lightweight, foldable scooter

I have an ulterior motive. Would like to get a relative to use one as they cannot independently make it around the parks and right now they rarely go, choosing to use a manual chair when they do. This adds up over time and is difficult for the person helping out. If using something belonging to me they might give it a try and find freedom, or at least I hope they would.

I could also use it on my trips to a certain extent. Right now I'm doing well but would like to do more and sometimes it's too much.

When we bought our Go-Go Sport, we had hoped to just break even versus renting in Orlando. 5 years later, our purchased scooter paid for itself 4 times over. We bought ours “lightly used” from a local company that rents in our home city. He rents them out for 6 months and then sells them so his rental fleet is always fresh.
My sister has borrowed our scooter on occasion so I can relate to you wanting your relative to try it.

We bought my adult son an electric wheelchair, called the Phoenix. It is smaller than a scooter, folds up, and turns easily. We fly with it on vacations, we fold it and put on the cover and gate check it. It is not covered by any insurance, it is not considered a medical device, but recreational. (He is disabled and also on Medicare/Medicaid. We actually switch the controls around and we drive him, vs him self driving.)

There are many choices. How important is budget? How important is weight? Battery life? Ease of use? Durability? Answers will differ based on your own priorities. We own two scooters. Both are easy to get in and out of the car. Mine cost nearly $3K, and has been worth every cent. BB is 34 pounds WITH battery, is fairly comfortable, battery lasts all day....no complaints. The second scooter, shared by my husband and son has a battery that doesn't last as long, but comes with two batteries. No basket, no platform on the base. Very easy to get on and off. A tiny bit heavier, and we tend to split front and back. Still very convenient, an she cost all of $500.
I'm sure she won't last as long as BB, but we've probably covered the cost in the year we've had her.
One thing you need to be aware of...you must protect the electrical connections on the rudder/handlebar AND the battery in case of rain. I carry a poncho and plastic bags like your newspaper comes in. Some carry shower caps. Amazon actually has ponchos that can cover both you and your vehicle. Obviously, they are reusable. Good luck with your decision. I wouldn't be able to go much of anywhere without mine.

Mine is a Travelscoot. Made abroad, and only sold in one location. Absolutely recommend. They have replaced the version I had (deluxe) but have heard equally positive things about the newer model (Escape). The only thing that concerned me was that the canvas that serves as a "base" in your triangular structure is smaller, therefore less storage. Hard to explain--go to travelscootusa.com. They have a decent bunch of accessories. One other frequent concern is that there is no lock and key or headlight. Both are easily solved via Amazon using a motorcycle lock for the first, and a bicycle light for the other.

The other scooter is a SuperHandy Passport. Prices have increased, but check around. I only checked Amazon. Batteries significantly less if you decide you need more than 2. It is supposed to come with a storage bag which they credited me for since ours came without.

Whatever your choice, have a wonderful time and be careful. Using a scooter is definately a different way to "Disney" and you must drive very defensively. People will stop, walk into you, block the walkways and many other things. They literally don't see you because you're not at eye level. I'm usually so happy to just be there that I can ignore it, but when I start getting really irritated I try to remember that I might have been guilty of the same thing once upon a time.
