Keep Movin' in May: May Exercise Challenge

475/1500

I got in a 20 min walk today. I meant to go longer but it was SO WINDY and pretty darn cold that I gave up :rolleyes1 haha! But it's better than nothing.

Final day of Ripped week 1! I planted flowers for an hour but will not count it, I need more cardio, but too pooped to do more!

670/1500

I'm thinking of running the 10k in cleveland That is part of their marathon's events. I lived there for a while and think it would be cool to run a race there now. And I'll be there that weekend anyhow so I really should just do it.... Sounds like a great field trip for your son, even if you don't make your 5k. I love downtown pgh stuff!

Thanks for the info on ripped- I love 30ds but am battling a shoulder issue right now so the arms parts are too much for me. Hopefully it will heal quickly so I can try this series too!

Sounds like a fun 10k. And it should be pretty flat, right? Hope your arm gets better fast :)

Walked to my mother-in-laws while DH & DSs drove. I thought it was farther! It was only 2.43 miles so I'm adding 33 minutes. It was cold (46 degrees) & windy today. Brrrrrr. It's May, darn it. Bring back the 70s!

Total=432/900

Thanks :)

Found a trail that has the cushy track material on it, but rather than at the track it's in a wooded area, so I have a feeling I'll be head back there often. Took the dog as well, so 73 minutes total should bring me to

437/900

if I did the math right!

75 minutes on the treadmill today. Did C25K and ran for 25 minutes straight......something I've NEVER been able to do before! I also improved my 5k time by a minute and 19 seconds (36:41).

575/1500

It's going to be a tight squeeze this week to get my last minutes in before takeoff, but I'm going to try like heck!:yay:

4/12-37 mins elliptical

345/500

And to get you started on your week with a little bit of humor...

"If you’re on the treadmill next to me, the answer is yes…we are racing." Unknown :hyper2:

Hey everyone!

I know I'm really late to the party this month but I'd love to join the challenge. I just need that extra motivation to get out and move and these challenges have worked for me before. If its alright, sign me for 400 minutes.

Thanks and awesome work so far everyone!

Got a question for y'all...I saw on the news this weekend that a runner in California had been killed by a group of dogs. Fourth time that's happened in Ca. in a couple of years. It made me wonder about carrying MACE or something while I run. So - do you all carry anything for protection while you run?

Welcome new movers!!

I completed day one of Ripped Week 2!! AAAARGH!! The blasted plank is going to kill me!! I could barely hold a plank for 30 seconds 30 days ago and now she wants me to be on it up to 4 minutes? HUH?? My shoulders felt violated!!

But, I completed it and 30 minutes treadmill with half on incline..

so I'm up to

730/1500 :)

Updated through post #216! Great work this weekend everyone! Keep it up. We're almost halfway through the month and the colors on the first post are looking great....

Training for a dualthon (there is a tri option) so out for a 90 min run, 60 min bike ride and 30 min rowing.

I don't swim so used the rowing for the shoulder work most people get while swiming. At least that was my rational and I'm sticking with it. :rotfl2:

I don't carry Mace or pepper spray when I'm out but there were a couple of times last summer I quite running and walked a different direction because of one dog. I think a pack would put the fright into me. :faint:

This doesn't happen often but had more energy tonight so completed another 30 minutes on the treadmill...I am halfway there!!

760/1500!!

45 min DVD and abs. I can really tell I haven't done anything except run since march. Time to step up the cross training. Do any of you other runners fall into this bad habit sometimes? All I want to do is run and then I realize.... Oops. Usually it's an ache or injury that reminds me.
